The food very good. The place id kind of small for the number of people there.
Always outstanding quality of food, ambience and service. They make you feel like family.
This is our go to place before an evening at nearby Wolftrap. It’s in an unassuming small shopping center but inside it is old school haute cuisine. The manager, chef and waiter are solicitous and the food is great, I had French onion soup, done right, we split fois gras (totally worth it once in a while) and my sautéed soft shell crabs were wonderful in a butter, lemon and almond sauce. We also split chocolate mousse for dessert, ooh la la.
We had a wonderful time our first visit there it was quiet on a Sunday late afternoon waiter chef and owner were very entertaining as they all visited our table
The food was amazing. The service felt very European, which isn't bad but definitely different than the typical American dining experience. The decor was decent but not great. Overall a nice experience.
The food was delicious. It was a birthday occasion. They made us feel very welcome and enhanced the celebration by serving, with flare, a complimentary dessert, which was a small assortment of delicious desserts. We are already planning our next visit!
Excellent food. Excellent service. Great dinner with out-of-town friends.
Very welcoming, attentive owner and staff. Took special care of our gluten sensitive needs and offered terrific wine suggestions. We had the flounder and halibut specials and both were exceptional with wonderful complimentary sides and colorful presentation. This one definitely makes our favorites list!
Very nice dinner and attention from the staff. The cuisine was adequate and the flavors decent but nothing special in terms of pushing the envelope of culinary excellence.
Food was superb and theservice was also. Veal Oscar was the best
If you want a wonderful dining experience Cafe Renaissance is the place to go. My wife and I have been going there for nine years and have always had an excellent meal.
Always great food and dining fun at Café Renaissance. A wonderful neighborhood food with a creative menu and a wine list that guarantees you'll find something yo like at a price you like. Great for a romantic night out or regular dining. The wait staff are all professional -- and with good senses of humor.
As usual, all was excellent. Even though we hadn’t been there in 7 years, the staff recognized us and we felt like we were home. The ambiance is wonderful, you are never rushed, and the food is outstanding. It is such a relaxing atmosphere. Always an enjoyable experience.
Great meal & great service...as always!! The Halibut and the Lamb Shank were outstanding!
It was date night with my wife and we had tickets for a show in DC. We live in rural northern VA and getting to and from DC for dinner and a show is a heavy lift. I decided to try dinner near the Vienna Metro. Café Renaissance was a delightful surprise and, as it turned out, we preferred to the quality of the show. They open at 5:30, but, being senior citizens, we showed up 15 minutes early. The door was unlocked and we were warmly welcomed and seated immediately. There is far more to Café Renaissance that it appears from the strip-mall location. We thoroughly enjoyed the interior design and art and we found it a very tasteful luring into a French mood. The menu is lovely and fully satisfying a hunger for French. Our meal was delicious, the wine paired well and we made the show just in time. Two thumbs up from Warrenton, VA.
One of the only restaurants that still represent what excellent dining was when I arrived in the area in the 1970's.
I took my mom and my daughter here for Mother's Day, and we had a lovely time! The service was just right - friendly but not ingratiating, knowledgeable but not overbearing, attentive but not annoying. The food was simple and good, starting with the basket of fresh bread and ending with the chocolate mousse we all split. My mom had the chicken piccata, my daughter had tomatoes and mozzarella, and I had mushroom soup and a kale salad. We also had a bottle of prosecco, 2 glasses of champagne, and coffee with dessert.
Everything was cooked nicely - seasoned well, but not over-seasoned. It was nice to taste the actual food without a lot of oil, butter, or salt in the way. We were quite satisfied but not uncomfortably stuffed when we left.
My favorite aspect of the evening was that even though the restaurant is fairly open, it wasn't too loud for us to hear one another. There was soft music in the background that added to the ambience and did not overwhelm - unusual in these days, it seemed, and much-appreciated!
Took my mother here for Mother's Day, along with my daughter. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much!
I have never been disappointed with the food nor the service.
They are always the most friendly folks and make you feel like royalty
The food was excellent. The dessert presentations with lots of fire was great! The Style of the place is old fashioned and was perfect for my mother-in-law!
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The food was perfect, but we found the after dinner options to be exceptional to taste and experience. The creme brûlée was just set and so silky...just wonderful to experience the feeling as well as the flavor. We also enjoyed watching as the staff prepared table side Irish coffee with exceptional flourish and showmanship.
We needed a place where we could visit with a special family member, where everyone could hear the conversation. I knew Cafe Renaissance was the place. The food is always superb and the staff never rushes you and for a special occasion this was simply fantastic!
The dinner was superb! The special oyster appetizer was exceptional. A visit by the Chef and Owner prior to ordering from the menu added considerable value to our dining experience. The Halbut and Beef Tenderloin offerings were cooked to perfection and the generous glasses of wine were truly appreciated. The dessert selections coupled with flaming Irish Coffee capped off an amazing dinner.
Only negative thing, mom and I both ordered a seafood plate but we received each other’s order. I did not realize it until I cut into my food. But we both enjoyed each other’s meal none the less.
Excellent! Limited wine list. Very friendly atmosphere.
Cafe Renaissance excels in everything. The staff is always cordial and accurate. The food is always delicious and greeat value for the prices. It is always a pleasure to dine there.
We celebrated our son's 21st birthday with his friends on Saturday night and had a wonderful time! The variety offered on the menu was spectacular! The seafood entrees were particularly enticing. The service was impeccable, courteous and professional. We arranged for a birthday cake and what a beautiful cake it was! We highly recommend the Cafe Renaissance for your special occasions or a delicious night out.
First time visiting even though we live in Fairfax, only a few miles away. We had a wonderful time. We will be back.
Thank you for an excellent meal.
My problem with many restaurants is that, unless I eat at a very odd hour, I have to sacrifice either the quality of my dinner or the ability to hear the folks I'm dining with. This was, for us, a first try for dinner at Cafe Renaissance, and we were happy. The restaurant atmosphere somehow conflates casual with fine dining. Service is caring but not fussy. Bread basket included baguette and a rosemary bread that was particularly nice. Noteworthy were our main courses: my husband's lamb shank was tender; my halibut a decent-sized serving, was nicely (as opposed to overwhelmingly) sauced. The mango mousse cake was lovely. And we could hear each other.
Nice old fashion European Resturant (French?) - the place could use a face lift but is clean and inviting. Service was excellent!
From the special greeting at the door too the excellent service and very attentive waiter and host, it was a delightful evening. Salad and entrees were delicious. The Bananas Foster was prepared in front of us with great skill. Entertaining and delicious. We capped off dinner with a specialty coffee prepared with much fanfare. Looking forward to visiting again. Vienna has quite a jewel in Cafe Renaissance!
We love Café Renaissance... Always gracious, always wonderful food. We feel like old friends every time we go.
Excellent food and wine selection. The owner is hospitable, sits at the table and chats with customers. French wine selection is superb. Highly recommended and the restaurant matches its reputation.
I can not describe the treatment and service you will receive from the management team, the chef, and server/wait staff. From start to finish, by far the best experience in the area. Always a personal visit from the owner and the chef. They take great pride in what they are serving and making sure you receive what you want. The meal comes with a personal touch. If you have dietary concerns, this is the place for you.
The daily specials were to die for. We had a home made lobster ravioli which made your month water. At the end, you have to experience the Irish coffee and Banana's Foster. I know you will be full, but a must!!!!
We spent our Anniversary there and will spend many more there in the future. At the end of the evening the owner sat with us to ensure our experience was unforgettable. Well, it true was. I highly recommend Cafe Renaissance
Very attentive management, chef and wait staff. Your satisfaction is their main concern
We love talking to the owner and chef. It makes the experience so special.
I found this fantastic French restaurant on Open Table when I put in a search for Romantic (my wife and I were celebrating our Anniversary).
I am very familiar with Maple Avenue in Vienna but had never noticed this restaurant before....I wish I had!
We had a WONDERFUL meal and time.
From the moment we walked in we were warmly greeted by Saeed the Owner and made to feel at home.
The food was great but the service was even better. My wife and I were pampered throughout the night, we were never rushed and we received little goodies and treats after the meal.
The restaurant was quiet (it was a cold Monday night) and we found it very enjoyable and relaxing. The prices were very reasonable for the quality and authenticity of the food.
We talked all the way home about how much we enjoyed the experience and my wife was still talking about it this morning.
We would definitely encourage others to try this little gem in Vienna. We will be going back!
Sayeed provided another lovely evening. If there are soups on the menu, try them. All three, French onion, lentil and gazpacho, were of high quality. I can personally recommend the lamb, as it has always been delicious and was certainly excellent on our most recent visit.
