Cafe Renaissance is your first choice in
intimate dining. Located in the heart of downtown Vienna, Cafe Renaissance
offers a quiet and charming ambiance
that will complement any lunch or dinner.
Cafe Renaissance continues to be one of our favorite restaurants. Anyone who dines there will be as pleased as we have for the last 10 years.
The food is awesome and the service makes every meal an experience to remember.
Great service. Always go there for important occasions.
The best all around in Vienna especially when cerebrating elderly birthday. The owner makes everyone feel like family.
Great for a special occassion. We celebrated our anniversary there and were given complimentary port after dinner. It was non-rushed and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening out. A very nice place for such an event.
Service is gracious and from another era. White table cloths, flowers - just lovely. Owner is a delight. Menu is rich and varied. Food is excellent - good classic French cuisine. Not Michelin Star but very good and fills a niche at a very reasonable price. Worth a weekly visit.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We have never had a bad meal there. The halibut I had was superb.
Cafe Renaissance is our favorite restaurant. The staff is warm, generous, and wonderful. This time, we were there for our anniversary. Our daughter is a fussy eater, plain foods only. Cafe Renaissance usually serves foods with delicious sauces, though they've made absolutely plain, excellent beef for her each time we've visited--except when she's ordered plain pasta!
Along with a dessert, courtesy of the house, the manager also brought a round of port afterwards which he shared with all the diners. The flourless chocolate cake is superb.
Fabulous as always!
Service is not professional, other than that is an Ok restaurant.
Great night out celebrating a birthday! Couldn’t have been better. Great food, and friends. What else do you need?
From the warm personal greeting at the door through an amazing series of wonderful examples of the chef’s art to the heartfelt farewell at evening’s end, this was an experience to savor long after it ended. The cafe is small and beautifully decorated, and on this particular evening was uncrowded and delightfully quiet for conversation. The maitre d’ was ever present but never hovered unnecessarily; his banter and sense of humor added much to the enjoyment of the evening. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. I’m eager to return.
Cafe Renaissance was a very pleasant surprise.
The place is very stylish.
The food is excellent.
Stuff doing excellent job to make you feel at home there - something very unique.
Definitely will visit again.
Very relaxed atmosphere and people were dressed for the occassion (no jeans/polo shirts, etc). Great food options and both the halibut and lamb shank were outstanding. The chocolate raspberry mousse bomb ended the evening very well.
Warm cordial staff. It was not noisy and we could actually carry on a conversation. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and the thoughtful anniversary surprise dessert!
Awesome as always. The food is amazing and the staff is the best. I save this place to impress my guests but We also come for everyday treats. Amazing wine, ambience, and service.
Service, food, and ambiance are excellent. Great place for any family occasion. Try the Dover Sole.
We love Cafe Renaissance for special occasion dinners. It is small and elegant with beautiful paintings and furnishings. We are always treated like we are the only ones in the restaurant. The food is consistently delicious and the service is outstanding. The squash soup with crab and the seafood crepe were refreshingly different from the usual fare available in most restaurants. We have recommended Cafe Renaissance to others who are looking for a quiet, romantic dinner. We even witnessed a marriage proposal once and another couple in the restaurant bought them champagne!
Sunday brunch was fabulous.
Delicious spontaneous birthday dinner! Food was great as usual. Ordered the Irish coffee for the first time and enjoyed the show - and the coffee. Owner and chef circulated all evening, checking on everyone, refilling wine glasses, and making jokes. Pace was perfect - attentive and leisurely. We will definitely be back.
I would recommend a friend if they wanted Italian or mock-french food in a restaurant owned by a
nice Persian/American man with a Bulgarian/American head waiter. We were looking forward to a
French dinner....which this was not. But we enjoyed the evening.....
We love everything about Café Renaissance. The food is fresh, hot and beautifully presented. Saeed takes great care of his guests. Order the Irish Coffee even if you do not like it. Saeed puts on quite the fiery show preparing it!
Just a pleasant place to enjoy a great meal with friendly service.
The food was excellent and the service was superb!
Wonderful on all accounts! Food was excellent and the service was perfect.
Great as always. Thanks Saeed.
We love this place! The food, the ambiance, the attentive service - everything is perfect!
I've passed this place for years, and finally got curious enough to try it. For some reason I thought it was French, but more of the menu items are Italian. The portions are very large, and the food isn't bad, which likely explains the elderly clientele. Our waiter creeped me out, calling me by my name at least half a dozen times, and commenting on the fact that I ate my vegetables. This was unnecessary and weird. Whatever.
My friend and I both ordered caprese salad, which was dressed with balsamic (fortunately not overdone) and accompanied by arugula. Hers also included one of those bar code labels still on one of the pieces of tomato (extra fiber?). To the point about large portions, there were three pieces of fresh mozzarella, adding up to easily two to three times the volume of cheese I'm accustomed to in this dish. My three pieces of veal piccata were incredibly tender - a big deal as veal scaloppini tends to be tough - but the sauce needed more lemon and more capers. The plate included garlicky string beans, yellow rice with currants, a large piece of carrot that had been rather aggressively sweetened and some sweet and sour purple cabbage. I felt as if creativity was sacrificed in service of volume.
At one point I noticed an ant crawling along on my handbag, which was on the window sill. After that I moved my bag to the floor.
The waiter insisted on buying us dessert - a small piece of really yummy chocolate cake and some sort of ice cream - and asked if we wanted coffee. We each ordered a decaf cappuccino, and he told us he was putting Bailey's in it. A nice gesture, but what if I don't want Bailey's? It wasn't worth trying to turn it down.
If Cafe Renaissance was the only restaurant in my town, I'd go back. But with so many choices in this area, I'll go elsewhere next time.
Outside appearances can be deceiving. Located in a strip mall, Cafe Renaissance can invite skepticism. But few French restaurants offer such good food and intimate service, where the owner, chef, and waiters all interact with customers. Our family of four had a sublime dinner to celebrate my son's birthday. The chateaubriand was excellent, the oyster appetizer was superb, and the chef prepared a special sauce to accommodate my daughter's onion phobia. The wine recommendation was spot on. All in all, a relaxed, delightful evening. We have been to the restaurant twice before, and it has never disappointed.
Greeted warmly by proprietor who wished us “Happy Anniversary” and ushered us to our table. Escargots and capers salad got us off to a wonderful start of a most delicious, leisurely dinner. The veal piccata and haddock with crab were exquisite main courses, accompanied nicely by the cab our children ordered for our special celebration. The complimentary small plate sampling of the yummiest of desserts completed our fine dining at Cafe Renaissance. We will certainly return.
When dining in Vienna, Virginia, most restaurants are in shopping malls that dot Main Street (Route 123). Café Renaissance is slightly off Main Street, but it is in a small shopping mall with numerous store fronts, including food service. The exterior is simple. We were greeted by a gentleman in an elegant suit. We were dressed simply. The interior is posh, which is almost an underestimate. There is resplendent starched white linen table cloths and napkins, every table set with silver and crystal. I was reminded of the old style European restaurants in Washington DC (and Paris) that I used to dined in, such as the Salle du Bois. The Colony, and the Rive Gauche. We were greeted several more times by other gentlemen wearing suits and generous smiles. We ordered starters and entrées, some drinks. Everything was top notch. There was much pleasure expressed at the table during dinner. This will become a regular in our choices.
My husband and I celebrated our 36th anniversary at Cafe Renaissance and we could not have asked for a better dining experience! From the warm greeting to the outstanding service to the delicious food - we were overwhelmed by the staff's sincerity and good wishes. We even had lovely conversations with other dining patrons! The ambiance was perfect and we will definitely be back. The only downside is that we only just now discovered this gem after living in Fairfax for more than 25 years!
A more unique and enjoyable dining experience in that it is very elegant but also laid back in various elements. Simply not your typical 5 star-like antiseptic French restaurant experience and very much to my liking.
The food itself is great, no complaints on the variety, preparation or presentation. Portions are also rather generous.
In short, I will definitely head back.
I have recommended the Cafe Renaissance to many folks all of whom have enjoyed their dining experience. Without a doubt this is a first class restaurant. My wife and I have been dining here for 10 years. If it wasn't a "top Shelf" restaurant we would not return time and again.
The waitstaff were inattentive and we waited a very long time to order and were then rushed through our meal. The food was disappointing and the menu was limited because it was Fathers Day. We had hoped for better.
The service and food are just charming and delicious! When we dine here we always feel so very special. The vegetables that accompany the entree are well prepared and so very appealing - as is the entree.
Outside more of strip mall. Inside, you are welcomed and warmly greeted. Surprisingly large with 2 dining rooms. The ambiance, food and service was excellent. You are not rushed more like a traditional European style. Good wine list. Would highly recommend. Wonderful date place.
A wonderful eclectic restaurant with an old world atmosphere and truly incredible service. Our server Wes was funny, charismatic, and a joy to speak to throughout the evening. Felt taken care of throughout and will absolutely come back! The food being delicious certainly helps as well
Great night out with hubby!
Always a great meal!
