Cafe Renaissance is a wonderful place for a special occasion. The service is very attentive.
Cafe Renaissance is unlike any other local restaurant in a very good way. You will not find the same experience elsewhere. In particular, the dishes are original and well prepared, but they often also will customize them with mix and match combinations of ingredients. In our case, they customized the 5 course chefs menu. The service is personal and attentive. They take the time to interact with everyone, but are not intrusive. We consider this restaurant one of our "go to" places for special occasions.
We had the most amazing, memorable lunch. The food is fabulous. Even better is the owner and the waitstaff. We were celebrating our son's birthday and his one day anniversary with his new bride. Weslin, the waiter, was great. We live in NC; however, when we return to the area we will be sure to go to Cafe Renaissance. Many thanks to the staff.
We had a great brunch. The Chef came out and sat at our table; we literally gave him our order and he cooked it. The manager sent us dessert at the end of the meal.
A gem in Vienna! Loved everything about it and would go back again.
Just lovely! Gracious service, fine meal and amazingly not a soul blabbing on their cellphone!
Outstanding experience. They were so kind and friendly. Wonderful food and excellent service. We will definitely go back in the future for special occasions.
Was an extraordinary dining experience, from the ambiance, to the food, to the exceedingly gracious staff. It was a special occasion with family and I couldn't haves asked for anything better. THANK YOU!
Would recommend Cafe Rennissance for a special occasion! We celebrated our anniversary there and were treated very well. Both food and service were excellent.
Always a great evening. Food is good, ambiance is lovely, and wait staff is excellent.
We went for an anniversary dinner. Said was most attentive all evening, helping with wine selections and the menu. Our food was outstanding!! He was also very generous, adding Bailey's to our coffee and sending an anniversary dessert platter with port. -- Lovely ambience, reasonable prices, and excellent food! Cafe Ren is a real treasure.
This restaurant never disappoints. The inside is elegant with plenty of colorful, fresh flowers. The food is delicious and everyone is attentive without hovering. Can’t wait to go back!
How I love restaurants like this one! Intimate, romantic but not in the least fussy. A lovely evening all around. We will come back again and again.
My husband and I first became a thing on an evening years ago when we had a meal at Cafe Renaissance and talked until we finally moved our conversation out to their parking lot. After we married four years later, we started celebrating anniversaries at Cafe Renaissance every.single.year. The host/owner makes it feel like a personal visit with friends, but with friends who can cook better than any of our other friends.
We were the 1st group of diners for the evening & were treated like royalty. We all enjoyed what we selected from the menu which provide any number of tempting options. Service was excellent with a friendly waiter who did not take himself seriously in this white tablecloth restaurant. It was worth going across the river from Rockville, MD to Vienna, VA.
A really nice place to dine! Staff is friendly and efficient. Nice ambiance. Looking forward to returning!
Great food with great friendly staff aleays checking in you. The Chief came out three times and checked with eact table to see if all was OK.
As always, the food and service were impeccable. I ventured out of my typical seafood repertoire and tried the veal piccata, which was very good. The mousse and flourless chocolate cake satisfied our chocoholic tendencies. And, of course, everything was served by the most gracious restaurateur I've ever met.
Delicious food; great service. Love this gem in Vienna.
Staff very welcoming and service is outstanding. Food was expertly prepared and you can tell they are big on presentation. Cafe Renaissance reminds me of eloquent fine dinning establishments that ruled DC in the 70s and 80s such as Duke Zeibert’s, Rive Gauche and The Prime Rib.
The service and veal oscar were superb. The chef came and gave personal attention.
Always a pleasure to dine at Cafe Renaissance . The food is excellent, the noise level is low and the service is perfect.
First time dining at this restaurant and it was well worth the drive from Odenton,Md.The night started with a friendly greeting and got better the longer we were there.Great drinks, wine, a wonderful menu, super dinner, superb dessert tasting item and ending with complimentary port wine.My companion and I loved this place so much,we are returning to celebrate her birthday in 2 weeks. Our hats are off to the owners and the staff. They have captured a Parisian atmosphere in a strip mall store(fresh flowers and all).A tip of the hat to everyone who make our evening to remember even before we got to Wolff Trap.
We were blown away by Cafe Renaissance. We had no expectations but everything we ordered was delicious (app, entre, and limoncello cake). After dinner, they surprised us with an Irish coffee, (which was a whole production with an open flame and caramelizing sugar directly onto the glass). It was easily the best Irish coffee I've had. We will be back!
We were three friends getting together and we had a wonderful time. Service is excellent and the food is soooooogood! I only wish I lived closer-I would be there all the time!
The Cafe proves to be a great time with great food and great waiters with a colorful flair.
Your every visit to The Cafe Renaissance is a reminder of why you'll come back, soon..
The staff is very attentive, if you're not sure of what you wish to order, be assured pleasant help is at hand to show you the way.
FYI, block 2 hours time to allow for a full meal experience. 2 hours well spent. You will return.
Outstanding dining experience! The welcoming staff and owner started off the event, but it was Jonathan, our waiter, and Chef Ocean who made the evening! Chef sat down at our table and really personalized our menu selection, as well as created a one-of-a-kind experience.....with intense attention to detail! Looking forward to going again this Sunday before our next Wolf Trap performance!
Can’t say enough about this place. The service is just as incredible as the food. The owner and wait staff are far above excellence. This is my new go to spot when traveling through Vienna!
Exceptional evening for my birthday dinner with friends! We all had fresh fish entrees that were delicious and wonderful wines. Service was outstanding. Could not have had a better evening!
We've been dining here for special occasions for more than 10 years. The quality of the food and service remains consistently outstanding.
Don't be scared. You don't have to speak French. I did and got corrected in English. But the rest of my time there proved impeccable. Welesin delivered flawless service and a fun sense of humor. The hostess could not be warmer. And the food! I ordered the scalloped chicken with apple brandy and apples. Flawless. Even more delicious was the saffron risotto and the vegetables--lightly but perfectly seasoned. I would avoid the yogurt-cucumber soup, but otherwise--5 stars! This place is worth seeking out!
Amazing food and service. Saeed always makes us feel special when we come and Chef Ocean never disappoints
My wife and I have dined at this restaurant many times and have always had a first class experience. The menu is great and the pace of the meal is spot on. Service is top shelf. If you want to have a grerat dining experience then you should dine at the Cafe Renaissance.
A delightful dining experience from beginning to end. Attentive and cordial service, wonderful food, and a quiet and elegant venue. Should be a must on your dining list.
It is sad for me to write this, but this was a disappointing experience on so many levels. It was my daughter's 18th birthday, which I had mentioned in my reservation. After greeting us effusively and seating us, and realizing we won't be ordering alcohol, the maitre'd immediately veered away to serve his regulars. It took quite a while for someone to come take our orders. The escargot was all right, and so was the duck confit small plate. The entrees were another thing however. My daughter ordered the lamb chops, and they came out dry and hard. She soldiered through two of them before giving up. My wife's salmon was quite good I hear, but hard on the edges. My calf liver and onions were fine but not great. We saw tables around us receiving a lot more attention than we ever did sitting in the middle of the restaurant. This was an oddity in a restaurant with so many reviews for excellent service. Finally I had enough, and called for the check. We had settled and were walking out when the maitre'd realized there was a birthday at our table. He half-heartedly offered to make us a dessert to share. We walked out in contempt, and do not plan to return.
The food very good. The place id kind of small for the number of people there.
Always outstanding quality of food, ambience and service. They make you feel like family.
This is our go to place before an evening at nearby Wolftrap. It’s in an unassuming small shopping center but inside it is old school haute cuisine. The manager, chef and waiter are solicitous and the food is great, I had French onion soup, done right, we split fois gras (totally worth it once in a while) and my sautéed soft shell crabs were wonderful in a butter, lemon and almond sauce. We also split chocolate mousse for dessert, ooh la la.
We had a wonderful time our first visit there it was quiet on a Sunday late afternoon waiter chef and owner were very entertaining as they all visited our table
The food was amazing. The service felt very European, which isn't bad but definitely different than the typical American dining experience. The decor was decent but not great. Overall a nice experience.
