   The food and service was excellent. The place was crowded and a little noisy. It was also pricey. I would not have minded the crowd and noise but for that price to enjoy that food I would want it to be less noisy.

   We made a last minute lunch reservation for our anniversary. Beautiful day on the patio. The food, service and value never disappoint!! Only thing that could be better is not having outdoor dining in the parking lot.

   We always enjoy our food at cafe Provence , and it was delicious as always, but there was definitely a disconnect between us and our server on this particular night. My husband and i both ordered what we thought was the appetizer of the the Coquilles for our meal he then also,ordered the French onion soup and I ordered the Endive salad. The server asked us the question did we want it as our entree which we responded yes to as we wanted to be served when our guests received their meals. We all had our salads and then the meals arrived and when we got the bill we had been charged the entree price for the coquilles instead of the appetizer (small plate). charged as we had ordered. The server then told us we said we wanted the entree, and rather then argue with her we simply paid for it despite the fact that is indeed not what we wanted!! We will of course return as we do,love the food, but going forward would appreciate knowing how to make it clear we only want the small plate(appetizer) portion, without the. O fusion we had this time??

   Everything on the menu was appealing. The special, which we selected, was grouper and it was delicious as was the soup of the day (artichoke/potato). In addition the endive salad was fantastic. The service was superb. Provence is one of the best places to dine in Kansas City!

    We both had seafood - Halibut and Grouper. Cooked to perfection, great sauce, nice and hot with great sides, carrots and zucchini. Desert was the Torte au chocolate which was incredible. Can't wait to go back.

    Always a fantastic experience! The Escargot is the best in town. And the pork tenderloin with mustard sauce was out of this world! The asparagus soup was delicious. And the service was fantastic.

    Great French restaurant in Kansas City. A family member said it's better than the famous restaurant Mon Ami Gabi in Las Vegas. The service is always exceptional. It's not outrageously expensive.

    I love Cafe Provence! I'm ALWAYS guaranteed a delicious meal. I specified sitting outdoors and our table was waiting when we arrived. Our waiter was great -- timely with asking for orders and if we needed anything else. The only thing that hampered our experience was TOTALLY out of Cafe Provence's control. The PV shops are undergoing infrastructure changes and a jack hammer commenced half-way through our meal. Again, not CP's fault. Just be forewarned if you want to eat outside in the next month or so.

    Beautifully prepared delicious food! You will feel like you’ve gone to Paris. Only one criticism…they do not offer non-alcoholic cocktails. There is one NA beer but other than that, it’s only sodas and Perrier. This is disappointing for those who choose not to consume alcohol but would still like to have a “fancy” beverage on a celebratory occasion. There are so many options available these days. Our waitperson told us the owners don’t understand the need for this.

    The food was excellent--outstanding, really. The New England Clam Chowder was the best I've ever had and proportioned well with the chicken morel and other accompaniments. We've come to expect this from Cafe Provence and they continue to excel.

    Angus was very knowledgeable about the menu and helped us learn more about the restaurant. We enjoyed the pace of our meal which wasn't rushed. The food was of excellent caliber and we enjoyed experiencing the different flavors and sauces. The desserts we had were very nice, too. We hope to go back soon!

    Food, drinks and service were all excellent.only disappointment was that I indicated in the reservation that it was our anniversary and there was no mention of it. A couple nearby tables we’re celebrating birthdays and it appeared that they received a note and bottle of champagne. It didn’t take away from our enjoyment of the meal but it was our first time visiting.

    The food was amazing, everything we tried! The French onion soup was the best I’ve had anywhere (including a couple other French restaurants), crab cake was super moist inside and delicious, the goat cheese salad amazing (just wished for another warm goat cheese ball). My friends had the chicken & raves about it. We couldn’t decide on dessert, so we each ordered one and shared them all. I’m not looking at the menu and don’t remember names of things, but by description I’m sure you can find them — chocolate torte was absolutely divine, strawberry dessert light and decadent and the apple torte was delicious (although my one ‘complaint’ on the night was the apples were a bit too soft for my taste), and the caramel sauce with it was amazing!! 4 stars for ambience only because it is a small place and the tables are pretty close together, otherwise beautiful and loved the small fresh flower buds at the tables! Overall an amazing dinner!! Look forward to going back sometime.

    We love Cafe Provence! We always have great food and service. Don't skip the escargot - it's a favorite. Yes it's a pricey restaurant compared to many others in KC, but it's an experience worth the money on occasion.

    Perfection as always! Food, drinks, service, ambiance, all are consistently top notch. We personally love the crab cake, the goat cheese salad, and the salmon dish is my favorite. The salmon accompaniments vary seasonally, it is phenomenally prepared and always such fun flavor/texture combinations! You can’t go wrong with the veal scallopini.
