Cafe Provence is our favorite restaurant in Kansas City....we have been to Provence, France and feel when we eat there....we are back in Provence. The food is beyond excellent and the waiters are the nicest ever. We eat there every chance we can.....you can’t get any better food!
This was our second time at the restaurant and it was just as amazing as the first time. I got the Amish chicken, we also had the salmon, filet mignon, and the duck. Everybody loved their dishes. Desserts are amazing and have a great selection of wine. The staff is amazing and everybody is happy and having a good time. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Kansas City area, hands down.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Our waiter was very good, friendly, and attentive. My only quibble was it was a bit pricey for lunch. With tip, I spent almost $100.
A pleasure to have lunch at Café. Debra was our waitress - pleasant and attentive as always! I had my favorite - the Poulet aux Morilles. My lunch partner had the sea bass from the menu (it was also the special that day). Both were delicious. Stuck with the crème caramel for dessert - a fairly new addition to their menu and worth it!
We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner. We were very pleased with the whole experience. Wonderful food, charming atmosphere, and our waiter was excellent, both friendly and efficient. Highly recommend.
I still haven't changed my mind about this being, if not the best, one of the two or three best restaurants in KC. Top notch French cuisine and impeccable service. The space is small and the dining intimate. The food is always well made and the flavors subtle. No BBque and hot spicy food here, just elegant French provincial food. The best thing is the Tuesday 4 course Prix Fixe menu. You can sign up and get an email of the menu for each week on the preceding Thursday. Al you can eat off the menu every night, the Tue special is great. This not a cheap place to eat but it is so good.
We went to have the special Tuesday menu. We thought all the food was excellent. I was especially impressed with the steak tartare - which, unfortunately, is not on the regular menu.
The service was very good and we had a nice wine. I thought the wines were a little pricey, but of good quality.
The restaurant is pretty small and the tables are very close together. The tablets (some are booths) are set with white linens and nice silver and china, but the area is so small that this seems a little too formal for the space. I actually think a more “bistro” decor and table settings would be more appropriate considering how many tables are crammed into the place.
All in all though, a very nice dinner and I’m sure we will return.
Cafe Provence is clearly the best restaurant in Kansas City!
We love Cafe Provence, particularly in soufflé night!
A truly lovely & memorable meal w out-of-town family: hope to repeat soon and often!
Always the best from start to finish.
My wife and I met some friends here for a Saturday lunch. This was our first visit to the restaurant, and it was fabulous! We enjoyed the food and the service. The Quiche was wonderful, and my wife and I each ordered the carrot cake, which was divine! :-)
Cafe Provence is a quaint French bistro that provides authentic French cuisine in a very pleasant setting. Service and food quality are excellent.
I love going on Tuesday night for their pre fix meal, it never fails to impress me! Delicious food, lovely ambiance, great service!
Exceptional food and service. Wonderful ambiance with modest noise level. Seating a bit tight, but spaced enough to avoid annoyance by adjacent tables. Highly recommended and a must do for the souffle on Monday nights.
Great place to meet old friends and catch up.
We ALL loved our dinners.
This was our first time at Cafe Provence and overall an enjoyable experience. I LOVE classic french cuisine but was hesitant to try this place due to a lack luster experience we had at another french restaurant in KC... Fortunately, we were not disappointed! The ambiance here is really special - very cozy, quaint and definitely had a french vibe. The french onion soup here is excellent; we also enjoyed the escargots and bread to soak up the butter garlic sauce. Husband thought caesar salad was just OK (I really liked it though). Our entrees were excellent - husband had the beef tenderloin which was cooked perfectly and I had the duck (would have liked a slightly crispier skin on the duck, but otherwise great flavors). We shared the bananas crepe for dessert which was good, not great - I'd try something different next time. I rated service as just good because it wasn't anything stellar, particularly at this price point. Our server was polite but not particularly attentive or enthusiastic. Our total bill with wine makes this an infrequent destination, but we will definitely be back.
Was our first time there. Small but cozy with excellent service, creative menus and the BEST French Onion Soup we have ever experienced. Looking forward to going back real soon. Viva La France. Also knows the exact type of Wine we were asking for.
Everything was absolutely great, as usual! We go for all of our birthdays.
My spouse and I ate lunch yesterday and had such a nice dining experience. Our server, Angus, was very helpful in offering his expertise when we asked for recommendations, and all of them turned out to be delicious. We have already made plans to return next month with another couple and look forward to it. Simply delightful!
Nice quiet Authentic FrenchReastaurant.
Don't let the strip mall address fool you.
Once inside, you feel like your in a French Countryside eatery. (Been there done that)
Great for conversations. (you can actually hear people speaking)
Food is perfected with family recipes, with an eye to those finicky dinners with gluten or vegan diets.
Exquisite food. Top service. Intimate romantic atmosphere.
Love this restaurant! I am honestly not a French cuisine fan but my cousin is so for her birthday I took her here for lunch. I am now a convert, the food was fabulous and the service was helpful and friendly, just a great little gem. I will definately be back I want to try more dishes.
My florentine quiche dish was burned on the bottom. It was hard to cut apart. I didn't want to bring it to their attention as I was with a friend I hadn't seen in a long time. The atmosphere seemed tired, the decor needs freshened. The flowers on our table were wilted and brown. I came away very disappointed.
My lunch was with a very special friend, to celebrate a very significant birthday. Every detail to presition and morsel, perfect. We are planning a next visit soon.
What a fantastic night! The food and service were exceptional. We enjoyed a long leisurely dinner and were never once rushed to finish quickly. Can’t wait to go back.
This is my favorite restaurant in Kansas City .....Always great
As always, a fabulous dinner with outstanding service. How lucky we are to have a restaurant of such wonderful quality in the area!
Delicious food as always, and we never felt rushed, so sat for a while and enjoyed a chat.
Superb food and service. Our favorite restaurant in KC
We had lunch and enjoyed the food and wine. This restaurant is consistently outstanding with great service.
This was a great restaurant all around, great service, great food. Just amazing place all around. We will definitely be visiting again.
Busy lunch crowd so recommend making reservations. Yummy food served in a charming, relaxed dining room. Service staff pleasant without being overbearing. Perfect lunch experience. Already planning a return visit, perhaps dinner.
We enjoyed a nice lunch today. The restaurant was busy, must have a reservation! The food was very good, Natalie was our server and no one does a better job than her. Special place!
Some of the most delicious food in KC. The owners/staff are so friendly and welcoming. This spot is one of my absolute favorites.
The food was cooked perfectly. Excellent service. Was not disappointed.
As always, Cafe Provence delivers! I had the Pork Cheek and my date had the Halibut (Special); both plates were completely cleaned - along with the Dates we had for a starter. We always love coming here and will continue to come back.
I love the food. So tasteful. The only issue I have is with the coffee. I would prefer coffee by the cup, but everything regarding Provence is top of theline.
Excellent food, the service is great. The best experience for lunch or dinner
Fantastic as usual
