Service was great, everyone from hostess to servicers were very nice and helpful. While food was delicious, I particularly enjoyed the mini macaron that came with dessert. Asked if I could have the recipe and an assistant chef came to the table to explain how it was made then asked for my contact information to give to the pastry chef. Got an email from the pastry chef two days later with recipe!
Visited for brunch. Buffet-style, with top notch selection of seafood, cheese, meat, and breakfast items. The dessert buffet was exceptionally good. Drinks are incldued in the price. I would recommend this place to anyone willing to celebrate something special or just wishing to enjoy a great dinner/brunch! Great service and staff, that did everything possible to accommodate us and our month-old baby!
Breakfast items are just ok but sushi is good. Seafood is above average (Shrimp, smoke samon, crab claws) but deserts are excellent(more than 20 items). Service is great but it was a little crowd and noisy - all tables were full. I will go back for the desert!
We finally were able to find a brunch in the real sense of the word, a buffet brunch. I'm personally tired of the menu-driven brunches that restaurants push these days. They are never as good as the buffet brunches where you can graze and get whatever you want in any amount!
The food at Café on the Green was high quality and delicious. All kinds of variety from breakfast items, to an egg station, carvery, waffles to order, and even a cute kid's table for their brunch items. There was delicious seafood and sushi, crab claws and shrimp and - you name it. Then for dessert, a whole room of 5 star desserts including a do it yourself cheesecake bar!
Our only slight disappointment came with the service. The waiters did not come by our table to clear used dishes when we returned to the buffet line. This is not good especially in a very upscale brunch. After we took our own dishes and scouted out a waiter a couple times, they start coming around to clear our table. We were never asked if we wanted more water, orange juice, or even coffee. Had to ask for coffee at the end of the meal and did get one cup. Nobody came by to ask if we would like a refill of coffee. This could all be improved.
But, the food was fantastic and we hope to return to this brunch soon again!
Originally thought Café on the Green would be overlooking the famous golf course, but was only adjacent to a grassy garden next to pool. Still nice. I did have to question what waitress called a five ounce pour of wine (looked about two fingers). After something said, waitress was rude rest of the evening. I'm sure they're trained to know where a five ounce pour is for the glass in which they serve wine, but for what you pay, a little grace extended there would be a greater reflection on desire to satisfy a customer. After I questioned and they found out it was our anniversary, subsequent pours were a little more accommodating to us. I would stress more customer satisfaction than being a stuffy, fancy, high priced, small food restaurant. Never understood why people are so attracted to and fooled that they are in a wonderful, 5-star restaurant so they tolerate a stuffy wait staff that never smiles and wants to argue rather than satisfy a customer.
Had dinner here last Friday with another couple. Hostess and waiter were both gracious. The restaurant itself was freezing. Both the waiter and hostess indicated this was an ongoing issue. Food was very average. Bread was cold and a bit stale. Charcuterie board was probably the weakest I've been served. Tired meat and boring cheeses. No explanation of the other items on the board. Salads were OK, nothing special. Entrees were not very imaginative and not particularly well executed. Of course Irving has a dearth of fine dining establishments, but best to spring for the Uber and get into Dallas.
Don't go if you're like every American now days looking for a bargain, there is no bargain just decent Ambiance which I find in Europe but not as expensive as here in America. I find American experiences are dwindling, I would only go here on special occasions. Portions are small for 26 dollars I had what looked like an Airline meal. This was supposed to be a lunch special. I had to go out with my son and eat after this. Guess what the price of the entire meal, my son had a Turkey burger which the size was like that of a McDonald's hamburger? Guess ? Wrong, 67 dollars for that! Plus they add 17 percent gratuity. I've eaten at Restaurants in Italy and Spa Resort in Europe and European portions are larger and less expensive. These are not family prices for the Holidays these are Gauging prices for people who are foolish enough to go out there expecting a bargain. Don't go.
While I'm sure it's fine for a romantic ambiance the lighting was so low we could not read our menu, suggestion have the wait staff equipped with small LED flashlight to provide to the diner so they can see what they're ordering. Our first time there and we did not know the menu had to use our very bright smartphones......not romantic!
Elegant dining with a champagne brunch. Large selection of quality prepared foods ranging from the typical omelette bar, sushe bar, desert table, seafood table, salad bar, and wonderful sliced beef selection. Great gathering place for friends and family. Convenient parking in a resort like setting.
I made a reservation online for this past Sunday, November 1st, at noon for me and my dad to celebrate his 57th birthday. We arrived about five minutes before our reservation to a line out the door and around the hall. When we finally arrived to the font, I gave my name and someone went to check on the table. She returned and said it was occupied. Then she checked again, said she looked at the wrong table so our reserved table was vacant, but it was not set. We waited and eventually we were seated. The brunch food exceeded my expectations (wonderful variety and plenty of options for someone like me who is gluten and dairy free) and my dad greatly enjoyed his meal as well. The one problem is that we did not chat much because of the high noise level. At the end of the meal we were served a wonderful complimentary birthday dessert. Overall, the noise was unfortunately a mood-killer and put a damper on our special time together.
Delicious food with excellent service. Allowed us to conduct business in a comfortable environment, the staff were attentive without interrupting. They were also very aware that we were on lunch and got the food out to us promptly. Easy in an out with valet parking. Save yourself the headaches of the normal lunch spots and head the the four seasons!
... that's how far each and every staff member we encountered went. And even those, like the chef and the evening manager, whom we didn't expect to meet, provided such generous, personal contact that we were charmed in every way. And the food was top-notch -- tailored perfectly to our requests, beautifully presented and very, very good. Our out-of-town guests were amazed and delighted at every touchpoint, which in turn made me (the host) seem like a genius for booking the evening in the first place. What a glorious night!
We visited this restaurant again before attending a musical in nearby local theater. The Service was wonderful and the food delicious. The corn soup was spicy and fresh. The romaine salad and fried tomato appetizer were both excellent. The red snapper and filet mignon were both superb. The chocolate mudslide was succulent ending to our meal.
Enjoyed a special Sunday brunch with my wife and daughter after her first 3 weeks of college.
The atmosphere was light, bright and open with a very accommodating and friendly staff.
The food selections were amazing with something for everyone and all was delicious!
It was a memorable brunch and we hope to return at our next special family gathering.
Please give the chef and all the cooks and waitstaff our best wishes as we thank you for your hospitality. Superb in every way!
This was a huge disappointment. The made to order omelettes were made with ingredients left out, water wasn't refilled in over an hour, took 20 minutes to get refill on coffee and waitress admitted she got distracted just chatting with someone, no condiments for the eggs on the buffet ( such as hot sauces, extra cheese etc), the pastries tasted as though they had been frozen and thawed out, the breakfast potatoes tasted old (we were there at 9) and we were not given a table with a nice view- tho we requested this and there were several tables that remained empty while we were there -until 10:30- the restaurant was not very busy. I will not be returning.
