This was our 52 anniversary and Leo and staff couldn’t have been more accommodating. There were surprises in every dish. Delicious combinations and unusual veggies and cheeses and pastas paired together. Very delightful evening. We’ll surely go back again. View of the canal and water fire is spectacular.
We arrived a bit before our reserved time and we were seated promptly. The waiter was at our table immediately. The ambiance is loud, the table are close together so if you are looking for a romantic evening I would not suggest this restaurant. However, we were having a family dinner so it was fine that the noise level was intense.
We started with the Prince Edward Island oysters, the only part of the meal that I felt was just okay. I was disappointed that they did not have local oysters offered. We also had the crunchy tuna as well as the lettuce wraps, both were delicious.
For main courses I had the composed tuna plate. It was one of the best meals that I have had this year. Simply outstanding. My husband had the duck, which he raved about. My son decided to have the Colorado Pork Chops with a side of broccoli and carrots. He felt that his meal was good, but that the pork chops were on the overcooked side.
For dessert we had the sorbet. We also shared a bottle of wine. I must mention that the wine list is extensive.
I would not hesitate to dine here again or recommend it for a special evening of dining.
Great night..Food and service were excellent..Left a bigger tip than normal..I had Lamb chops and my wife had Duck..really good.. Had escargots also..Nice job..went to the Vince Gill concert after..great night
My favorite restaurant for 6 years! Took 2 1/2 hours to drive from Boston- missed our reservation by an hour! Sean could not have been more understanding and accommodating! We had a show to catch and 1 less hour to dine! Our servers were most accommodating, pleasant and understanding. The food NEVER disappoints - it’s an absolute gem! The octopus was tender and flavorful. We shared an impressive swordfish special made for two that was absolutely delicious with a beautiful red sauce packed with flavors of fennel. Had a wonderful experience even with the rush and major delay. Thank you for helping us pull our evening together! We will be back!
Went for first time before a concert and was very impressed with everything. Food and service were right on and can't wait to go back!
Server was excellent! Cacio e pepe was fantastic!
Took my wife for our 7th anniversary and we were floored by the prices. The food was absolutely delicious and the chef made us feel special with the Happy Anniversary written on our dessert plate. Our waitress waa extremely wonderful and kept checking in on us. This experience is something we'll forever treasure. They made our anniversary lunch something to remember. We'll return very soon.
Absolutely amazing. Went there for mine and my fiance's anniversary. She had the swordfish and says it was grilled perfectly and one of the best she's had. I had the beef tenderloin and it was fantastic. Our server whose name escapes me sadly surprised us (as we hadn't mentioned it was our anniversary) with a sorbet with Happy Anniversary written on the plate/tray.
We got held up in traffic and they were very patient. The food was delicious, the presentation artistic, and the service attentive without being intrusive. The chocolate mousse is memorable.
Everything was delicious! The manager was wonderful and gave us a gorgeous table. It was our 32 Anniversary! The Cheesecake said Happy 32 Anniversary! Can’t wait to go back.
Perfect location right on the water. The duck was phenomenal but the short rib was just average. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I found it to be a little overpriced.
Best food I have had in ages. Great staff. Great location and ambience. Must go. Super fresh seafood. Loved it.
Love this place for a night out in providence. Amazing food helpful staff and beautiful location.
Went for Anniversary Dinner. When I made the reservation via opentable I asked to be seated by the window for our Anniversary. They had our table waiting by the window and also wrote happy anniversary on our desert plate. Very pleased that they actually listened to what I wrote.
Amazing service, from appetizers to dessert. They even brought over a dessert that said Happy Anniversary, as requested. All of our food was phenomenal, as it always is. Thank you to the staff for an amazing night!
Are on terrace. Terrific service. Delicious food. I would go there anytime. Lunch was wonderful.
The food is always delicious and the service is outstanding.
Spectacular experience. The food and service were superb.
We were there the night of a wedding rehearsal so it was frenetic and our table was right by the wait staff route. The food was fine although pricey for what it was. We chose it for gluten free options. It’s located inside a corporate building and the outside, another reason I chose it, was closed as it had rained. There was no water fire show either which was disappointing. I would say that if you’re looking for an over priced restaurant to hold a corporate event or take out of town guests you’re in the right place. For a couple it wasn’t as peaceful and romantic as we needed and we felt a little neglected by our waitress who was part of the large event service. Perhaps another night we would have experienced something entirely different. The Cobb salad was delicious but I quibble with chefs who lay all the ingredients on a plate to look pretty but don’t take into account that the customer has to then prepare their own salad to create mouthful size pieces. I want a salad not a cooking lesson and cutting up all the lettuce, apple, Gorgonzola wedge was frustrating even if it tasted nice. The crab seafood risotto was tasty but would have benefited from a little more risotto and a slightly creamier texture. The chocolate “signature” dessert was beautiful but the sugar work was too crunchy (Humidity I guess) and the chocolate itself didn’t have a rich taste. Think Hershey’s vs a nice European chocolate. Value for money so so.
I visited Cafe Nuovo on my 2nd Anniversary and I was married at Cafe Nuovo. Service was perfect as usual and it was nice that the manager Shawn remembered us and acknowledged our Anniversary. Everything was perfect!
overpriced and not worth the money but still a decent restaurant
Very disappointing.. usually one of our favorites. Off night.. not sure what was going on.. arrived at 7:50 and got
Food after 10 and was not cooked the way ordered .. sent back and came back still not correct .
The service was a little slow and 2 of the 4 meals were overcooked and 1 was cold when served. It was disappointing, we have been there several times and it is always excellent, definitely a bit off this night.
It was excellent, service, food, location!
It was my birthday and it was such a surprise with an amazing dessert!
Food was amazing and our server was excellent...very attentive....Our only complaint was that the bar was very, very noisy....they need a more closed in space for the happy hour drinkers.
Positive experience. Friendly and professional service. Special are special.
Just a classy experience with amazing food
I have great experience with girlfriend.
I had not been to Cafe Nuovo for a few years so took some out of state colleagues for a business dinner on a Monday night. The place was not crowed. Our waiter was efficient and took our drink order as well as appetizers. The apps came out rather quickly, a few minutes after the drinks arrive. However, the entrees came out over an hour later. I had the lamb shank entree, which was fairly dry and flavorless, the others were polite and said the meals were "fine", but one other person who also had the lamb shank had to ask for more cheese and twice added salt & pepper. Our waiter did not remind us that the entree was a la carte so no one had any sides. The waiter did take the desserts off the menu because the entrees were so late, but when I asked what the issue was, he said "there was a backup in the kitchen". On a Monday night, with no more than 25% capacity? I just expected more from this restaurant, with these prices. I guess that's why I hadn't been back for so long.
My boyfriend and I came here for my Birthday dinner. We were seated away from the main dining room in a more private section near the bar which was nice and more quiet. The server was fantastic. Very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered the clam cakes for an appetizer and they were full of large lump crab. Delicious. For entrees I ordered the rack of lamb which was cooked perfectly. My boyfriend ordered the crab risotto which was the star of the evening. I would highly recommend trying this dish. We finished the evening with coffee and creme brûlée. They had a special birthday message to the plate. Really lovely restaurant and the pricing is fair. Highly recommend.
50th wedding anniversary for my parents and the staff truly made it special
A+ experience, great food. The Gelato was fantastic.
Looking forward to a return visit.
The food here is top notch. We enjoyed the beef sirloin and braised short ribs. The chocolate and white chocolate mouse was delicious and a work of art. Highly recommend Cafe Nuovo!
So delicious and presentation is lovely. I love this place!
Great ambiance, very good service. We had lunch there that was very good but not exceptional. Dinners have been exceptional. The best I have ever had in Rhode Island
Hands down cafe nuovo is the best dining experience in RI. The food is remarkably consistent and truly delicious. What sets them apart is the service and personal touch that no other restaurant has in the state.
It is always an amazing experience! From Shawn welcoming us to Chris the bar tender to Vincent our server ! And the food is fabulous as always !
A great location and great staff. The venue is in a great location. I liked the outdoor seating.
Everything about this restaurant was fantastic: Food, presentation, service, atmosphere, ambience.
