Cafe Normandie Ratings and Reviews
Service was problematic. Sat and sat and sat after hostess brought us to the table. No one came by. After some time I went up to the bar and asked for some service.
Our server did apologize and said she just missed us. Uh, we sat across and down a few feet from a table she was just at. Dommage!Place was not busy at all—approx 5:30pm on Sunday.
The roast chicken and liver dishes were excellent. Soup of the day (Black bean with lamb) was excellent. Desert (fruit tarte) was excellent. Service just wasn’t on a par with prior visits.
Portion sizes were generous, If you go before 6:30 there is an "early dining menu" where you can get 3 courses for $30. There are a lot of different options to choose from, portion sizes are fairly large for some dishes, moderate for others.
Service was meh, took a long time to get drinks and waitress wasn't super attentive. But overall a pretty good experience.
We had a great lunch at Cafe Normandie the other day. My coq au vin was delicious, as was my wife's grilled halibut sandwich. They offer a very nice selection of French wines by the glass that provided each of us the opportunity to create a perfect pairing. Our server was friendly and efficient. Always one of our favorite spots whenever we are in Annapolis!
I always like my experience at Cafe Normandie, it is one of my favorite places downtown. I always get escargot and the roasted duck even though I always mention that next time I am trying the scallops. I finally saw the scallops, and I have to make an effort to try those next time. That particular dish looked divine! I always go to the roast duck, it’s superb. The raspberry sauce is a perfect compliment to the duck. It’s a brilliant place and it’s a great place to gather with close friends.
My wife and I had dinner there for our 36th anniversary. I contacted the restaurant and asked for a nice romantic booth. The manager responded back to me and assured me that she would take care of my request. We arrived on time and the table wasn't ready so my wife and I were given complimentary glasses of wine. The meal and ambiance was great. We enjoyed it so much that we are coming back in three weeks with our family! Great place!
We came for brunch and the food here was delicious and the service was good.
I kind the waffles, which I felt were a bit pricey based on the accompaniments, but very tasty!
My friend had the eggs benedict, which she said was delicious.
I would return to try out their dinner.
The meal was fine; however, the bill had hidden charges -- each of the drink orders were inflated where one became two, two became three or four. Thus, the overall bill was about $70 higher than it should have been. When we questioned the waiter, he quickly said he must have made a mistake. Suspicious!! We wondered whether he was trying to put something over on a lively group of six friends. Beware!
Always consistent in quality and taste, the Cafe is a joy to experience. An extensive menu becomes all the more memorable when everything on it lives up to expectations. The service is attentive and unobtrusive and the atmosphere is convivial. We have dined there for many years and have never had a bad experience.
Went with my sis for her 60th...lovely, relaxing afternoon. Felt we were welcome to linger as long as we wanted. Food was perfect, except for the fries...not so much! The pear martini was fabulous, as was our service! The location is right in the hub of downtown Annapolis...perfect!
Party of 6, at the round table. We had great food, very nice service... and delicious meals.
Jean-Louis, the chef and owner (always a good sign) worked really hard (with boat show season) to make sure all meals were on time and perfectly prepared
The wine also was very nice.
Excellent address in Annapolis!
