   One of a few favorite go to Annapolis restaurants when in town.

   The Cafe Normandie offers a good but not overwhelming number of menu selections that set it apart from other restaurants in Annapolis. The food was great, the prices are reasonable and the staff was friendly and accomodating. We had a slight delay for one of our orders, but great communications on the part of our server helped to smooth over this minor inconvenience.

   As locals, we have had the opportunity to become regulars at this gem, where that has come to mean once every two weeks or so. On our most recent visit, my wife had soft shelled crab almondine, and I had one of their special Normandie-style crepes, this time filled with seafood, mushrooms, in a lobster sauce. Ceasar salads for starters, and our traditional Sambuca (with coffe beans) to finish. There are good wine and drink offerings as one might desire. We already are looking forward to our next evening at Cafe Normandie.

   Delicious dinner of Soft Shell Crab and trout…perfectly prepared. Lovely house salad. Wait staff is delightful.

   Very disappointed in what we thought a French Chef would be executing. The duck confit tasted almost as if it was boiled. It did not have that fall off the bone inner layer and the crisp outer layer that should have been cooked in the duck fat. The chilled pate did not have that much flavor. We were told they had no grainy mustard to accompany the pate. Ordered some old stand-bys after that. Trout almandine was ok. Pools and pools of butter are not really necessary. Veal Francaise was below average. Not at all what it should have looked like or tasted like. The beans and carrots were bland and the carrots completely raw. I thought this may be our new Monday restaurant but not now. I guess tourism makes this place survive.

    Consistent good food and service. An Annapolis star for many years. Sound level is good even on a busy Saturday evening. Good portions and good value for money. Excellent value wines.
