   It stands tall and alone as downtown’s only source of French country cooking. Close your eyes and you are in a small town from Normandy to Avignon . Bon appetit!

   I had been too long since we had a chance to dine at Cafe Normandie in downtown Annapolis, and Father's Day was just the opportunity. Thank goodness they still have the spinach salad, my favorite, the rack of lame and the trout almandine, although the changing specials are never to be overlooked. Our server, Abraham, was also wonderful with a quick wit and genuinely warm personality. We look forward to coming back again soon.

   Father’s Day Brunch. Pleasant greeting and nice table for 3. Waiters very busy and there was mild delay before getting water and menus. After that I thought the service was exceptional and food was great including fresh from the oven French bread. Highly recommended: we have been going here for 20 years and have never been disappointed. My husband is 1/2 French: the bread, frites, and food is authentic. 👍

   Our dinner at Cafe Normandie on 6/18/22 was just excellent! We were celebrating the anniversary of friends, and the service and food were outstanding. We loved the mussels, charcuterie platter, champagne -- veal francais, roast duck -- everything was delicious from appetizers through to dessert. We love Cafe Normandie -- it never disappoints. And our server (a young woman) was wonderful in helping us celebrate! Bon Appetit!!

   Excellent food and bar drinks! Kind, friendly service team. Sharable entre portions. Tables are packed in and the noise level was similar to that of a bar. I would dine here again and I would recommend this restaurant to others.

    what a wonderful gem. we had the charcuterie plate, bone marrow, escargot, and roasted salmon with blueberries and everything was delicious. had some great drinks too. would definitely recommend.

    After combing through reviews of Annapolis restaurants and reading lots of menus online I had booked Cafe Normandie for our first night in Annapolis. The food did not disappoint - we had delicious salads followed by entrees that were decadent and delicious. The roasted corn risotto with sea scallops was diving - sweet and creamy risotto topped with really large perfectly seared scallops. I was in heaven. My friend really liked the look of the Scallops Provencale on the menu but doesn't love scallops - she asked if they might be able to swap in shrimp with the Provencale preparation. Chef kindly accommodated and she is still raving about that dish several days later. We split the Tarte Tartin for dessert which was delicious as well. There were a lot of silk flowers both outside and in - clearly put together with a lot of care but which felt to us a bit dated. It initially made us question our choice as we entered - fearing this may be a dated or has-been restaurant. It definitely was not - the cuisine and the service were wonderful. Definitely a must-try when visiting Annapolis!

    Another outstanding meal from Jean-Louis and his team. The catch of the day - SeaBass was enjoyed to different ways by our group as well as the duck which never disappoints. And I enjoyed soft shell crab almondine. Absolutely superb. And never go here without starting with the cream of crab soup. Thanks for a great evening!!

    The crepes were lovely and tasty with a perfect texture. Cappuccino was amazing. Ice cream dessert with brandy and cherries was to die for! Service was very attentive but not pushy at all. What a great find!

    My husband and I were visiting Annapolis for the day. We wanted some place special for lunch. Cafe Normandie was the perfect place! The menu selections, the quality of the food and the service staff couldn’t have been better.

    Always a pleasure, we go to Cafe Normandie regularly. Jean-Louis puts a lot of personal effort in making this an authentic French experience. His cuisine is very comparable to good restaurants in France (where I lived for many years.)

    The food was next level delicious! We had scallops and softshell crabs. Totally divine!! I order scallops almost everywhere I go, they are my favorite, and these were perfectly accompanied by the corn risotto. It was creamy and fresh. Can’t stop thinking about this dish!

    Enjoyed a nice lunch with a friend on a Saturday. The restaurant was not very crowded when we arrived at 12:30 but did fill up a bit more by the time we left at 2:00. My only complaint is that it took a LONG time for our main courses to come out. We did have an appetizer that came out ahead of time, so we weren't starving. We were there for an hour and half, which was a longer lunch than we had wanted, as we were hoping for some more time to look around in the cute shops afterwards. Having said that, the food was very good and our server was very nice. We understand that restaurants are short staffed right now and are doing their best to provide a good experience. Definitely pack some patience, order an appetizer, and enjoy an extra glass of wine. Its worth it! I'll definitely be going back to Cafe Normandie to enjoy a leisurely lunch :)

    Classy decor, quality food, cozy atmosphere. Located in a quaint tourist row a few hundred yards from the water - a great area to take a scenic stroll before or after your scrumptious brunch!

    The food, especially the Scallops were poorly prepared. The inside of the scallop was fine, but the outside was soaked in fish oil. Searing the scallop in butter would have been better.

    Wonderfully old fashioned. Cafe Normandie is an old fashioned restaurant in the best sense of the term.. The food is traditional, hearty and tasty. Never had a bad meal here. Top quality food. . Great service. Beautiful atmosphere. Nothing not to like

    The fresh pasta was not fresh made, but is advertised as fresh made . The food was over salted. Bread had absolutely no flavor. Overpriced items compared to the value. Will not return. Service was mediocre. There are many better places to eat in Annapolis.

    It was an okay night. The calamari was good, seafood crepes just ok, my dad enjoyed the Osso bucco. I totally understand how overwhelmed the staff must be from the shortage everywhere, but I was slightly saddened that none of the staff acknowledged that I had written it was a birthday celebration for both my mother and father (April 3&5).

    Our food was very good. And I know that they are short stages but we day for 20 min before water was dropped off. Our apps that needed bread (baked brie, escargot) were delivered without bread and had to wait 10 min to eat so we could grab our server riding by to get the bread. The scallops and risotto was excellent. We will definitely be back for that and hourly they will have more help.
