Excellent meal on a Stormy busy night. Service was a little slow but understandable....it was very busy.
Outstanding wine selection and service was excellent. Menu was extensive with a balance of meat and fish entrees that met the festive occasion.
Great boulliabaisse !!
One of my favorites!!!
The best item on the Café Normandy brunch menu is Eggs Florentine. The eggs were perfectly poached and the dish was served very hot with ample spinach, mushrooms, and cheese.
great food & wine and overall vibe, confusing menu and decent service. slightly pricey, but a good night out.
It was our Anniversary
Great dinner, great service wonderful ambiance
I good crowd of nice people
Their wine list is very good
We plan to get there more often
All of us got something different;
escargot, fish, veal and vegan
....and all choices were delicious
This was a 2nd visit because the 1st was terrific. We were a little disappointed. The soup came out the same time as the crepe. Requested no anchovies, yet they were in the salad. We were not offered dessert and had to request coffee. We were making a slow lunch of it (2 hours) and were prepared to tip generously. It was pretty obvious they wanted us to move along☹️
We had a wonderful round table by the front window, ideal for our group. I had duck confit (delicious) and a delightful spinach and mushroom crepe and a nice half price bottle of wine.
A gem in the vibrant old Annapolis, fine cuisine with all organic vegetables, tasty ingredients.
Our family has been going to Cafe Normandie for over 30 years, and have celebrated many special occasions there. After this NYE we will NEVER return. On a busy night, we certainly give a place some latitude, however, every aspect of this experience was so sub-par and in fact insulting, that there were new lows we never knew could be experienced. We were seated over a half an hour beyond our 8:30 time. It was clear that the restaurant had overbooked. We were told to go out and walk while we waited. There was steady rain and NO space to stand. Finally we were seated at a table that was wobbling from the top of the pedestal. Lights glared into my eyes even though I always remember a private lighting atmosphere in the past. When our first course arrived, the server threw our plates down on our table, causing loud crashing noises that all around us were startled by. This same staff member delivered courses to tables around us in the same manner. It was as though she was insulting us, seriously!! We asked to be moved to another table because of the instability of ours, but that was not met with approval. The plates continued to be crash loudly to the table throughout dinner. Our wine came later than the main course which was also thrown at us. We kept trying to rise above how angry we were but that became impossible. A large party arrived and were served glasses of champagne as they waited for a much shorter time, an option that was never afforded to us. As I was concluding my main dish, and savoring those last small bits of truffle, a different server swooped in, took our plates oblivious to the fact hat my fork was in mid-air. Guess he wanted us to hurry up! Complimentary champagne had to be requested twice. When you pay upward of $300+ dollars for an experience to savor, you never expect this abuse. A fine dining experience needs to balance diners' experiences and memorable cuisine. This nightmare experience has completely overshadowed the cuisine.
A fantastic night, truly wonderful time for our fourth celebration of New Year's Eve in a row at Cafe Normandie. We loved it. Food was great, ambience was festive, emcee for the night kept us on our feet right before and after midnight, and we had a blast. Thanks for another fun time!
New year for price of 105 pp would accept good
Not great service understanding its new year so wasn’t expecting outstanding but was not good
I wouldn't recommend it for new year eve
Tables were to close to each other
Soup was wonderful
The pasta was
New Years. Expected a lot better service and food
A wine pairing option would have been better
New Years Eve dinner was great. While menu was limited, the choices were adequate to satisfy just about anyone. Fixed price included one drink, but wine list was extensive and fairly priced. We love this restaurant
Ths is our go-to fine dinning restaurant (but you can dress casually) near Dockside Annapolis. Service and food are great at a reasonable price.
We had New Years Eve dinner. Great food, friendly staff (thanks Ted), nice environment. We sat by the fireplace in the middle of the downstairs room. It is more of a fine dining experience and a bit more expensive than other eateries in the area, but that is what we wanted. It was a perfect eve away from our kids on a rare dinner date, thanks C.N.
Overall experience was great. Our server oddly stared at us, which was slightly unsettling, but the service he provided was exceptional. The food was outstanding, and the wait time was decent. The music was quiet, but calming and romantic.
Great food. Good value for the price.
Been here several times and always enjoy it when we're in town. Always have a hard time deciding because everything is great. Crepes are excellent, soups, entrees. If you enjoy French cuisine, book it
On our reservation day and time, we arrived approximately 10 minutes early and the hostess greeted me promptly and told me that the people at our table weren't getting up and it would be a few minutes. I didn't think that was a problem so we waited. After being seated, I really don't think "people still sitting at our table" was the issue. This restaurant - which I have been to several times, was VERY under staffed!! The food was cold as it got to our table. We waited a very long time for every phase of this lunch - wait for water, wait for order to be taken, a VERY long wait to get our food and a VERY long wait to get our check - but after explaining to the waitress that we really had to go - we didn't have to wait long for our change to come back.
Don't know how I feel about coming back.
Great food. Great place. Romantic.
This is a fantastic restaurant. It's one of our favorites in Annapolis. The meal was outstanding as always, salmon with blueberries this time. The service was great. The ambiance reflects that of a Parisian restaurant.
We are never disappointed with this restaurant. It's our favorite to go to for a lovely dinner in downtown Annapolis!
Always a lovely, intimate dining experience. The noise level during the busiest times is worse than it ever used to be though--the only negative factor.
Online menu and actual menu were a bit different - offerings and price. Restaurant was a bit pricey, but very good. Three scallops meal - $29
Ryan our server was wonderful and attentive on a very busy holiday evening. A neighboring table of four were demanding and impolite and he and the hostess were professional, patient and overly accommodating.
A wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable dining experience!
Service was very uneven this time, which takes away from the experience.
Our waiter was a bit dry and unresponsive. We were seated in a small table near the fireplace which did not allow for much room for the wait staff and patrons to pass behind our table, thus we were being nudged continually until we asked if we could reposition the table out of the constant flow of traffic. The food was okay --- not spectacular for the price.
Always a great bet. The best from the fresh bread, to the fresh escargot, fresh salads and delectable fish dishes. They have been one of our favorites for two decades.
Wonderful pre-Christmas lunch with family at Cafe Normandie. Our server, Ryan, was great - attentive and made wonderful food recommendation. The food was wonderful - Md crab soup, cream of crab soup, French onion soup. Our entrees - steak sandwich, ham and cheese omelette and half chicken. All were delicious and prepared perfectly.
Excellent as always!!
Everything was good except for the lack of proper service IE. We where not offered desert and it took over an hour to get out food, but over all great place to eat and we will likely go back again.
As usual, a very enjoyable dining experience. Our waiter Jackson provided the right amount of attention, and the courses arrived at the right pace to allow us to enjoy them with our drinks. The osso bucco, venison, and salmon entrees were excellent.
Booked well in advance for a 6pm table, but was given a table next to the front door. When we asked to move due to it being cold and drafty we got nope can’t do it. Asked again told not only could we not move but our table was booked again for 7:30 for a group of 6. By now it was 6:30. Waiter saw the conversation with the hostess and told us he’d take care of getting us a new table. Hostess now had an attitude with us. Long story short, we were moved to a new table. Had to climb over chair to get seated. Waiter was excellent. Food okay.
Café Normandy is always one of our favorites. All of their dishes are excellent and they serve the best crepes around.
Nice quiet place that has the proper ambiance for a leisurely Sunday lunch. The classic French menu has lots of good food to choose from, and the service, while attentive, was not over bearing. We've been going there for quite a few years, though admittedly not very often, and will be back.
