My wife and I went to experience the Restaurant week special. My wife had the goat cheese salad and salmon with blueberries. I had the duck and escargot. Everything was delicious. Service was good. Only downside was table location next to the kitchen area. I was constantly watching to make sure that the servers were not going to hit me.
First tome visiting. Tried the restaurant week menu and enjoyed everything.
Food was good but service was awful!
Highly Recommended! The service was great. Server was friendly and informative. Excellent food. Parking was bit of a challenge today because city was setting up for a parade. Will definitely return.
We enjoyed our evening and our dinner. The space is small, so you have very limited space between tables. There was a coat hook on the pillar beside our table, it was so close that the person's coat that was hanging there was literally in my husbands face throughout our meal.
Service was very good and the food was good. Just too crowded for me.
Delicious. Great value for restaurant week! tHANKS!
Me, my husband, and three friends went here during Restaurant Week for their lunch menu. We were seated right away and the waitress was very kind about a few other guests who were running a little behind and got who was there set up with drinks. Lunch menu portions were fair and left me full without feeling stuffed. I really loved the table we had, it was tucked away and right by the fireplace. The decor was really cute and cozy. I would definitely go back again.
Even though it was Restaurant week the whole experience was incredible and throughly enjoyable by everyone in our party of six. The escargot was my favorite and the best i have had in years, thank you.
Our server was top notch offering great advice from wine selection to our dinner. Food is always A+!
A wonderful Annapolis Restaurant Week meal!
Server was odd and we had to ask for some things more than once, but this is a favorite place so I can overlook that.
When we got there the hostess said we had no reservation, but seated us anyway. She was very unwelcoming. Everything else was wonderful. The food was excellent-onion soup to die for, Tender, flavorful trout almondine. The choc eclair was to die for, custard filling just like grandma used to make!
If the hostess could smile, it would be a prefect lunch spot.
Had a lovely dinner during restaurant week. Unlike some participants, Cafe Normandie offered selections from their normal menu to assemble the prix fixe menu and everything was great.
I had heard great things about Cafe Normandie and decided to see what all the hype was about. It did not disappoint! Great food and service!
Another fantastic Restaurant Week dinner at Café Normandie. The restaurant was pretty busy with it being a Saturday night, so the waiter was very busy but attended to us as he was able. Food was delicious as always!
My husband and I went their on date night and all we can say is that it was very hard to make a choice as to what to have. He had Chef Jean Louis’ special and I the Bouillaibaisse and both were amazing. We will return.
Very welcoming to my family with 2 young children :)
one of our most favorite restaurants in Annapolis - we love it!
Service was too fast. Our bottle of wine arrived with the entrees we'd ordered five minutes earlier. Man, this place has a goal of turning the tables. Food was not outstanding, but certainly a value. Calling the setting "romantic" is a stretch. The garlands of fake flowers and the lavender painted walls are kitschy. But the price and the quick meal fit our requirements for the evening. Would we return? Yes, definitely. There's a lot to explore on the menu.
Have loved this place for years, and it never disappoints!
Incredible food and service. Escargot is amazing!! Can't wait to return
Ambiance was romantic and quiet. Food presentation and quality excellent. Very nice waiter.
It was a Monday...so place was nice and quiet. Exceptional service and great food.
My daughter and I waited 20 minutes after we were seated, then we approached the staff to see who might be waiting our table. The website incorrectly stated that the lunch menu would start at 11am. The server who took it upon himself to take over for our table was very nice and spoke to the kitchen about giving us the option to order from the lunch menu. I didn't broach any of this with the staff because my daughter was treating me to lunch for my birthday. Very disappointed in the service and to a lesser extent the food.
We met friends for dinner this past weekend at Cafe Normandie. It was a first time dining for them and they LOVED the atmosphere and food. They will recommend to their friends also.
Food was excellent. Service was very good. Place was almost empty on a Friday night. It was my birthday and the chef sent out a special cold soup with Creme and caviar. 10/10 would suggest to a friend
Great service waitress made outstanding cosmopolitan.
Delicious food. Great service.
A long-time fan. Lunch was superb. Wish I still lived here. Would certainly be a regular.
This has been one of our favorite restaurants for years. our go-to menu selections include Salmon with Blueberries, Trout Almandine, Ratatouille Crepe, Osso Bucca, baked brie & honey appetizer, and crepe suzette. Many other very tasty treats. Oh..and it was 1/2 price wine night!!!
A friend was visiting from NY, so I wanted to take her somewhere nice to impress her. Well from the appetizer to the dessert, she was impressed. We sat near the fire and drank our half price bottle of Beaujolais and enjoyed the delicious food and cozy atmosphere. Brian, waited on us, and as usual, he was friendly and attentive.
I come here frequently with my husband and family. We have never been disappointed!
If you want a good classic french food meal at a reasonable price Cafe Normandie is the right place for you in Annapolis.
Food was exquisite. Flavorful, bold, distinctively French. Service was very good.
Floor hadn't been cleaned in a long time...littered with bits of paper trash, food crumbs and scraps, sticky places. Not expected in such an expensive restaurant.
Very strange that diners can look back over the bar and get a direct view into....the dishroom? Someone I know who used to work there says the dishroom is very badly ventilated so they have to keep the door open. But considering how many restaurants now have an open kitchen, this was just very strange.
Place is cramped in a very French way. They are victims of their 19th-century storefront in that respect.
It was hopping and vibrant at 8:30-10:00 on a Saturday night. One person at a nearby table of three was having a very loud and extended conversation on her phone with her daughter (we can fill you in on all the details) and then passed the phone around to everyone else at her table. Made conversation difficult. Restaurant did nothing to address this. (Try that in Paris, and see what happens to you.)
Rest rooms do not appear to be accessible to those who have difficulty with stairs.
But, as I say, food was exquisite. Veal Normandie is properly cooked (not easy with veal), tender, with a lusciously flavorful sauce and (I'm not kidding) the most delicious peas I have ever eaten. Butter lettuce salad was fresh and tender. My wife's Belgian Endive salad had a few pieces of wilted endive but was otherwise delicious (she reports) as was her branzino.
Always a great dinner here at Normandy. It was Valentines weekend so it was crowded but they still did an outstanding job. I will return again and again.
Dining at Cafe Normandie was a new experience for me, and one that I would definitely go through again. It was incredibly comfortable, and despite being busy for being just after Valentine's Day, the staff were attentive and so incredibly kind. Our waiter, Brian, was very kind and helped us enjoy the experience. Would definitely recommend and will come back again.
We always enjoy our experience at Cafe Normandie. It was especially festive the past weekend for Valentine's.
We got cauliflower creme soup, escargots in puff pastry, braised chicken, and trout almondine. The esc in puff were ok, but not great. Chicken was not like last time, when it was falling off the bone, and tender. Trout was ok, and soup was ok. Service as usual was great. We sat on upper level where noise is less than below. We like looking at the view of main street, Annapolis.
On weekends when we want to get out of town we always go to Annapolis, MD. This is one of our favorite restaurants, so we go for lunch. They cater to gluten-free and the food is always fabulous!
This was the best Valentine's Day ever and my fiance and I agrees that this will be the restaurant we go to for celebrations from now on.
Made the reservation a month in advance for Valentines Day with my husband and was really looking forward to a great french dinner. When we got there they sat us right by the door on top of another table of people. When we asked to move to a better table we were told all the other tables were reserved (even though they were empty for our entire meal, and there were a lot of them) The only other place available was literally a 4 person table where they said they would sit another couple right next to us. The waiter must have been new cause as soon as we sat down he wanted our order and came back 1 min later when we told him we needed a little time, then took away the drink menu before we could even look at what they had. I ordered the duck and my husband ordered the chicken, but the waiter got our orders wrong cause he was in such a rush for some reason. At that point though we just wanted to get out of there so we boxed it up and decided we would never return. On top of terrible service and being treated like a second rate citizen all night the food was the worst french food I’ve ever had. Everything was overcooked, my husband’s chicken was waaay too salty, and I have had better duck in Chinese takeout. The only positive I can say is the wine was pretty good, but after we ordered the waiter disappeared and we weren’t able to order more than one glass, which might have made the experience more bearable. We ended up spending $100 to be squeezed into the corner and rushed then ignored to eat crap food. Save your money. It’s a cute restaurant, but the decor is where the charm ends.
