I lived in Annapolis previously for 5 years and Cafe Normandie was my favorite restaurant. Was happy to see that it was still in business! It did not disappoint!!
We had a wonderful evening at Cafe Normandie with friends. The food was delicious and the service by our waiter, Jackson, was friendly, attentive and helpful. Will return.
The food is always over the top and the service is always amazing. They make you feel like you are a he only customer in the restaurant
Cafe Normandie always has outstanding food! The ambiance is great for a date and it is great for quiet conversations.
I have been coming to cafe normandie with my family for about 8 yrs. Always a good meal. This was the first time I had any issue, our waiter was less then stellar. Never came over to ask how our food came out, servers bring to table, no parmasean for pasta or ground pepper. Manager seemed to be covering everyone's slack.
We found Cafe Normandie 2 years ago on our 8th wedding anniversary. We were married in Annapolis and have spent several anniversaries there. This year, we celebrated our 10th and wanted to recreate our best memories. We made a reservation at Cafe Normandie and it did not disappoint. We love, love, love the food. There is a large selection and everything is delicious.
Great time as expected, no complaints at all
My wife and I chose Cafe Normandie for our first date night after our second child was born. Both of us were very pleased by the whole experience Jackson our waiter was very informative and attentive without being overly so. The food was absolutely excellent from the escargot (should have saved more bread for the garlic sauce) and the french onion soup (a house speciality) to the main entrees; roast duck and the Veal Normandie. Both entries were cooked to perfection and a perfect portion size also we recommend sharing the two as the raspberry sauce on the duck compliments the cream sauce for the veal. Topped off the meal with a chilled creme brulee. I would say the worst part of the meal was the task of deciding which of their many wines to have as the menu is extensive and far ranging. All in all a great meal and a great evening.
Simply one of our favorite places to eat. Always good food and service.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Annapolis. I live in the historic district within walking distance of Cafe Normandie and go frequently for dinner or Sunday brunch. The silk flowers and painted windows are a bit „kitschy“ but the good, Fremch music and remaining decor are Tres Magnifique!
MUST GO!! Food is outstanding and great service, you will not be disappointed! We had the escargot, the ham and brie crepe and the prosciutto sandwich with a beautiful french wine.
Great food great service
Food and service were wonderful. Just as we remember from many years ago when we last had an opportunity to dine there.
Menu has so many good things to pick from.
Easy choice was the four item chef special.
Party also enjoyed some of the daily specials.
Really enjoy the more intimate atmosphere, so easy to have a conversation.
Excellent dinner! Love this place!!
We were delighted with Cafe Normandie. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. She handled our special requests gracefully. The rosemary chicken was perfectly prepared and the sauce was masterfully rendered. My mother and sister enjoyed savory crepes. My mother raved over the creme brulee for dessert.
Quality classic French food and good service.
Wonderful evening - food and service! Will go again.
Great food, excellent atmosphere. We were with relatives and we sat for 3 hours and talked! We were never made to feel that we had to leave. Really appreciated!
This is the best Restuarant in Annapolis. The food is consistently great. The staff is friendly , polite and knowledgeable .
Also, I have sampled escargot at other restaurants and Cafe Normandie has the best.
Cafe Normandie has been tremendous over the past two years. The only complaint in this last visit was with the kitchen. Very s-l-o-w. Obtaining drinks and food took much longer than usual or expected. That said, our waitress--Anna, I believe--was wonderful.
Very pleasant meal. They were busy and the staff was all about, however, overall it was a wonderful experience.
Would not recommend being seated upstairs. Have been here many times and never sat upstairs. Small area so it seems private and quiet, but it was just as loud as sitting downstairs. The heat was on and it was very hot. Windows can be opened but you are fighting to get a comfortable temp for all. Downstairs temp was at least 10 degrees cooler. Food was delicious as always.
We had dinner on Saturday night. We enjoyed it so much we decided to return for brunch on Sunday. The food was great, and the service was very good both visits. We would definitely recommend Cafe Normandie to anyone wanting a great dining experience.
As always, we found our meal to be excellent, service outstanding and the staff pleasant and competent.
Great brunch with friends! We all loved our meals, bloody Mary's, and our waitress and the staff in general were friendly and fun!
We came in for a team lunch. We waited at our table for about ten minutes to get service. It was then well over 40 minutes to get our food which was mostly sandwiches and some crepes. Once we did receive our food, it was excellent. I’ll definitely go back but probably for dinner when I have more time
We had a new waitress who was friendly and took good care of us
We were greeted with a smile . Six of us then enjoyed a pleasant breakfast of well prepared food in a comfortable setting. The service was great.
I been going there since it opened and it continues to be excellent.
Absolutely delicious dinner! Service was great with good knowledge of the foods. Highly recommend.
After many visits to Normandie over the last two decades, I was shockingly disappointed to experience the service Brian delivered. While he seems a pleasant and good fellow, he rushed each stage of dinner service.
From introducing himself to dessert, it was as if he did not have time to be bothered with our table.
It seems it is very much a café but instead of rushing us to finish the plate so it could be cleared. Perhaps a brief 20 seconds could be invested in any other conversation.
Love Normandie, and will be back but just hope to not be rushed in the future.
Great Service. Wide variety of menu items. The best onion soup I have had since leaving NYC
This a "quaint" French Bistro complete with a very "old world" décor...meals were delicious presented by a French-looking (Italian??) server...wine list goes ith the theme and priced fairly...definitely would go back
We had a great trip to Café Normandie after not visiting for the last year. It's such a cozy spot for dinner with friends and loved ones, and the food was delicious. Food and wine were nicely priced as well.
I love Cafe Normandie. It is both cozy and quiet, with a genuine French feel and without the pretentious look of many trendy French bistros in New York and DC. Moreover, their menu is moderately priced.
I also enjoyed their tropical fruit sorbet for dessert.
I noticed that they serve a 100-year old Grand Marnier for 20$. I will try it next time!
Been going for years. Never disappointed. The best French restaurant I've been to.
Amazing food, phenomenal service = best dinner ever! Had dinner with a friend after going to the Annapolis boat show. Sadly they were out of mussels, regrettably - we didn't try the lamb. Clearly - we will need to back. My friend had the escargot which she loved followed by the Pasta Primavera (see photos below). I had the Shrimp provencale followed by NY Strip steak with bearnaise which was phenomenal. Coming from Rhode Island, I always consider seafood "excellent" when the seafood itself isn't overpowered by whatever is surrounding it - in this case, tomatoes, basil, and garlic. The shrimp were sauteed perfectly, the steak was cooked to perfection, Escargot did not go flying through the air and the pasta primavera was magnifique. The service was excellent and the ambiance was wonderful. You should go - and it's best to call in advance for a reservation! Bon Appetite!
We had the chateaubriand. It was tough and the taste of char was present. It was not good and would not recommend.
The restaurant was maxed. Boat show weekend, every table full. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. Service and food was timely as if the establishment was half full. Food is always consistent and good. Always arrives hot to the table. We were in the couples seating area which means you sit side by side with your neighbors. Very European. We had a great couple next to us and the conversation was as good as the meal. Nothing to say but good!!!
