    A gastrointestinal climax. If this is heaven then I hope I expire now . A dining experience fit for a king . Pork Ossu Bocco cooked to perfection falling off the bone with a sweet potato mash with just the right concoction of spices that titillate the taste buds! A side of earthy Brussels with a slight crunch and flavored just right.

    From the time we were welcomed up the door till the time we left it felt wonderful. Thoughtful, conscientious servings from the bus boys to the bartender. Outstanding scallop appetizer, and the French onion soup was wonderful.

    My wife and I had a wonderful experience at Cafe Navarre as always. The food was delicious and our servers, Prince and Rachael, could not have been more attentive or pleasant. Working through the extensive wine list is always a treat as well and we had a lot of help from Tony, the manager. We will be back soon!

    Lovely place to dine. It was a busy evening before a show but food and service were great. Missed some of the usual menu items like steak frites but new options looked good as well. Always a wonderful evening at Cafe Navarre.

    Had a great double birthday dinner with my bride. It was rather busy on this Sunday night, however, we were treated as the most important table. I think everyone could say this based on the level of service we got. Started with the mushroom soup. Their signature (literally). Delicious as always. For dinner, had the ahi tuna special and tenderloin medallions. Both were spectacular. The ginger soy reduction with the ahi (basmati rice base) was amazing. Just the right amount of sauce to complement and not overpower. Tenderloin also delicious. For a table side, got fall squash in cider reduction. A little sweeter than I would’ve liked but cooked perfectly and still delicious. Since birthday, had to get dessert which was chocolate fondant. Out of this world delicious. Too rich not to share. Overall, thanks to cafe Navarre for making our birthdays special!

    This was our first time dining at Cafe Navarre. The atmosphere was excellent. Our server Danielle was amazing, friendly, energetic, and she offered great suggestions. We interacted with no fewer than six members of the staff and all were incredibly friendly and welcoming. We’ll definitely go back.

    Our group of 7 was seated promptly and our waitress was very attentive but not intrusive. Food was served promptly and all entrees were liked by our friends. We had a birthday celebration which was handled nicely. An overall good experience.

    It was a Notre Dame football night, so we expected things to be a bit more casual than normal. Food was great; service was a bit slow, with one exception. We were still eating one course when another arrived at our table and the server (not ours) just sat them down and pushed our current plates aside, a little, to make room. We have had this problem with Cafe Navarre, before. They should not bring more food before diners have finished with the current course. This makes us feel as though we're in an inexpensive cafe or diner, not a fine-dining establishment (with commensurate pricing). This issue should be addressed and should not happen. We love the food and the environment, and will come again. If this keeps happening, though, we might have to look elsewhere.

    After watching a miserable loss by our team we were delighted with this gem of a restaurant in South Bend. The building is an old bank so it has that clubby feel to it but the ambience is definitely genteel with a “in the know” vibe. The waitstaff are attentive without being intrusive and definitely knowledgeable about the menu. There were four of us this evening and everything we tried was excellent. We were told later that this was the number one restaurant in the area and it definitely lived up to that reputation. You will not be sorry you chose to dine here!

    We had a wonderful meal. Food was hot and delicious. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal (Tenderloin tips - very tender; Pasta Bolognese - good portion, very tasty; Salmon - delicious; Amish Chicken - very moist and tender). Server was attentive and the pace of the meal was just right. Will definitely be return customers.

    Exceptional food. Service was excellent. Server did a great job describing various dishes making them all sound wonderful, and they were. Enjoyed the environment in the old bank building. Will definitely go there again.

    My husband and I have been coming to cafe Navarre for all of our wedding anniversaries and other special occasions in between. We LOVE cafe Navarre. This trip, however, was our least satisfactory. The ricotta gnocchi was AMAZING. Cannot say enough good things about the gnocchi. My salad was ok. My husband and I agreed when it came to our steaks that although they were cooked to absolute perfection, the flavor was lacking considerably. I had the filet and the truffley jus absolutely made the dish. I wish I had an extra ladle full of it to just bathe my steak and potatoes in. My husband enjoyed his affogato, whereas I was disappointed by the chocolate fondant. Drinks were delightful as always. I wasn’t thinking to even do a review because we still enjoyed our meal despite these minor downfalls. The issue came when we got home and less than an hour later we both became very ill. None of our food appeared undercooked so this was alarming. We will be taking a break from cafe Navarre and hope our next trip is a bit different.

    Beet salad was beautifully presented and delicious. Arancini and Ricotta Gnocchi were amazing. Pumpkin Butterscotch Cheesecake was the perfect end to our dinner. Service provided by multiple employees was on point.

    The food here is consistently some of the best I've had in South Bend. While pricey, you get more than your value out of the meal through the wonderful mix of flavors and presentation. Navarre also consistently has the best service of any restaurant in the area, and the ambience is perfect for any occasion.
