Delicious!
Just got back from Paris and we loved Cafe Monte's food every bit as much, if not more, that what we experienced there. Always delicious.
great food
service (ms)was terrific
willl def come back
This restaurant provides outstanding meals and service.
Always wonderful! My friends and I enjoy many evenings at Cafe Monte-never disappointing!
One of my favorite restaurants. The chicken and mushroom crepes are GREAT!
This is at the top of my list for dining in Charlotte. The food and service are amazing. We like to share & the special touch of dividing our portions for us gives you your own beautiful plated dish. You won’t be disappointed. ❣️
Lunch with friends was a delight with good food, good wine, and good, friendly service.
Six weeks later and every bit as good. Based on our waiter's (Sean) recommendation. I had the special which happened to be lasagna. This may seem strange in a French restaurant but it was excellent. My wife had the chicken and mushroom crepe again and it was every bit as good as she remembered. We shared the tuxedo cake for desert and loved it. And should I mention that on Tuesdays and Thursdays they have half price bottles of wine?
As usual, Excellent Food & Service ... and half price bottles of wine on Tuesdays and Thursdays!
Our favorite place for mussels and frite. Always great service and delicious food.
Great restaurant! Enjoyed the food. It was delicious! Service was great. Glad I stopped by on my trip.
Butternut Squash Gnocchi was gummy in texture and had no flavor. Ravioli was delicious. Service was ok, they needed more servers.
Cafe Monte is one of our favorite restaurants.
Our server, Lisa, provided excellent service. It really made for a very pleasant dining experience. She was pleasant, polite, made suggestions. She did not miss a beat while servicing several tables as well.
Our food was delicious. I had the salmon special cooked to perfection and my husband had the mussels special. The tuxedo cake for dessert was scrumptious.
We have always enjoyed dining at Cafe Monte.
Be sure to make your reservations early as this vibrant eatery is often busy. The distinctive French Cafe ambience can easily make the diner forget that they are in fact in a SC strip mall and is by far this restaurant's most charming asset. The food was good, though not extraordinary. The salad and desserts seemed unusually tasty, but the vegetables had a unique ubiquitous flavoring that I did not personally favor and the meat was somewhat tough.
We’ve eaten here several times before, but I don’t remember the food being memorable. This time, that was not the case. There were so many good salads to choose from, it was difficult to decide. I chose the kale salad with apples, bacon, goat cheese and dried cranberries, with a champagne vinaigrette. It was delicious. For my entree, I had the swordfish with sautéed spinach and tomatoes and roasted potatoes. It was fabulous. My husband and the French tomato soup and seafood linguine which he loved. And the bread...we had two loaves, I’m embarrassed to say. Our waitress was great. She waited to put our entree order in so we could relax and enjoy our salads. I can’t wait to go back.
We took another couple to the Cafe for the ambiance and great food. The Beef Wellington and the Salmon were outstanding!
Always wonderful! A great place to get together with friends.
The crêpes were delicious: full of flavor, but not too heavy. One of our favorite spots for lunch in Charlotte!
Always great food and experience
we are fans and frequent customers at Cafe Monte. We came for breakfast as follow up to last month's breakfast experience. I had the Belgian Waffle with fruit compote and maple syrup and side of thick bacon. My wife had the chicken bacon club sandwich on grain bread with fruit. All was fine but I would say that the waffle was room temp and last month I believe was served warm. The fruit compote topping was warm but the syrup was cold so maybe missed the mark slightly. Club sandwich was perfect and they use a good bacon, maybe applewood, good flavor
Always a treat! thanks Sean for a great dinner!!
We went to Cafe Monte to take advantage of the Wednesday night bouillabaisse special. It was excellent. The broth was very well done, rich and just a hint of spice. The shellfish portions were generous and the fish was excellent. Calamari was also in the soup. A tiny quibble, the mussels were really small. I would still order this again and look forward to regular visits on Wednesday.
After shopping at the South Park Mall this was a great find to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. So if I close my eyes it felt like we were at a cute parisian cafe.
As always, Cafe Monte was exquisite. The wine list is flawless, and the service is impeccable. Food allergies are handled both sensitively and quickly. Honestly, I cannot recommend them any higher.
Easter brunch
Café Monte is consistently great. Friendly & helpful associates.
Food is creatively presented and excellent. Perfect restaurant to take guests.
The food was perfect
We had an awesome experience as usual! Took our 27 year old son for the first time while he was in town for Easter so he could check out our favorite restaurant and we weren't disappointed! Could become a family tradition!
Great food and service!
Always good food, excellent friendly service & a fun atmosphere. We were there for a half price wine night—which is a nice perk!
A very nice "french" restaurant....always good food and service! Our waiter Alex was excellent. Can't wait to go back!
Wonderful food and service, as usual! Cafe Monte never disappoints.
For n atmosphere
They were very busy and yet the food and the service was excellent.
The swordfish was perfectly prepared; blackened, savory and moist. A little heat but not much. Along with a bed of fresh spinach and some roasted potatoes. Highly recommended.
The food is always wonderful and the wait staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. Despite being very busy, the food came to us quickly. Would eat here again and again.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere! Will definitely be going back!
Excellent service. Great selection of wines. Very good smoked salmon and French onion soup. On this occasion, my lobster was sadly dry and unevenly cooked. The fingerling potatoes had too much cracked, black pepper.
I would prefer the lobster to be steamed, and I would rather crack it open myself at the table. I think that would result in a better-tasting product. However, the lobster was fresh, and the portion size of the asparagus was generous.
The guitarist was a nice touch. The room can get very noisy. It was moderate the other night and quite enjoyable. Brunch and lunch here are also well worth the trip.
We've eaten here at least 2 dozen times and always enjoyed the meal, BUT this time I tried the pizza - with the gluten crust - and it was terrible and essentially inedible. My mistake, I was hesitant to order it but took a chance. We brought most of it home thinking we could breath life into it but no such luck. We tossed it in the trash.
Everything else was wonderful but in CLT stick with Luisa's for pizza. Or, our favorite is the mozzarella bar in Piazza Campo de' Fiori in Rome, Italy. Ask Monte, I bet he knows where that is.
