Overall the food we had was delicious but I wasn't really wowed about it.
In for Christmas Eve dinner. Pri Fixe. 3 course. We had the soup. Spectacular. My wife had the duck, I had the cordon bleu, which was the best I've ever had. Duck reported to be quite respectable. Finished with the tarte Tatin and Yule log, yummy. Really enjoyed on this special day/evening.
Service was a bit slow. But we survived.
Nice atmosphere, a bit cold. Turn up the heat! Great food and well prepared with a good selection.
This is a wonderful little local spot and the owner ( who works as a waiter) is a very personable lady.
Cafe Monet consistently provides a local oasis for great dining. The guitarist adds another level of enjoyment.
We love Monet! This restaurant is so French with its casual charm and good food. Service was good
Very nice experience. We ordered two different fish dishes. Only complaint was the cod was dried out (may have sat under a heat lamp). The service was great and we really enjoyed ourselves. I'd definitely recommend this lovely little restaurant.
This is my second visit here. Our dishes were very good, especially the decedent dessert. My chief complaint with this place is the service is spotty. It is BYOB. The serve took our bottle of wine to keep chilled, but we had to keep asking for get our glasses refilled. They did a nice job of getting the other patrons in and out for the theater, but I guess we were just not in a hurry...a bit overlooked. Otherwise, pate was wonderful. Dessert was choco-licious!
The food and presentation were superb, but the service was slower than usual.
Great food, with a true to France feel. The quality of food is fantastic and a great surprise.
Charming, European-feel little restaurant in the heart of Millburn. The prix fix is a tasty bargain. We enjoyed every course. The service was attentive without being pesky. This is our second trip to the restaurant in as many weeks. My only critique would be that many surfaces (walls, chairs, moldings, etc.) appear to be in need of a fresh coat of paint. Highly recommend!
Three of four of us were very disappointed; we ordered fish (2 salmon, 1 red snapper special) that was very dry and extremely overcooked. The restaurant was not crowded, so there was no reason for the ruined food. The restaurant, rather than giving us a discount (since we were pre-theatre and had no time for them to redo our dinners), gave us gift certificates for a future visit. The restaurant was very overpriced for the food we had.
Terrible service. Food was good enough but the service was beyond slow
It was a very nice meal
No fireworks--but very good
I did think the cost of the prix-fixe was a bit high (ive been spoiled by other places)
I'd certainly and recommend
We'd been to Café Monet before (twice). It didn't disappoint those two times and it didn't disappoint this time. Tracy and Wes are wonderful hosts and servers, the food is delicious, and the ambience is special. And my wife and I enjoyed inspecting the art work by Barbara Dawson that is currently being displayed on the walls.
