The paid internship gives them the opportunity to exercise and practice their new skills while continuing to develop leadership, social, and vocational skills for as long as they choose to maintain involvement with Café Momentum. Additionally, Café Momentum works with the Dallas County Juvenile Justice Department to serve youth deemed highest risk for incarceration.
Not only was the food great, but the concept of the restaurant is terrific. Will definitely be back.
Amazing food, amazing service, amazing experience. We'll dine there again for sure.
Always love going here. the food is good, service, pleasant atmosphere. Just makes you feel good - with so much bad news around this is the place to go to know there is GOOD happening.
We truly enjoyed our evening. The menu was varied & everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. Looking around at everyone's tables, there was so many wonderful options! Service was friendly & professional. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm, positive & happy. We can't wait to go back!
A very special place!
The food was amazing and the conversation (with the children) was delightful. Such personality wrapped in professionalism. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone; for the cause and for the great food and ambiance.
Amazing concept and amazing food. Portions are really big. Definitely recommend!
Great food, great staff!
I love the concept and believe in a hand up! We were completely satisfied with all the aspects of the service and will be back again. Sorry it took me so long to try the place!
Fabulous food and wine menus, great, professional service, and you feel good about spending the money
Service was horrible! It was 50 minutes before we received our food. We constantly got pestered by the waiter asking us to give him a tip and not give to the suggested organization that serves juvenile youths, which is the program that he was in. The owners needs to pay closer attention to their wait staff. The lack of wait staff experience was noted immediately. We never received items that we ordered after asking for them several times. We almost had our food dumped in our lap as the waiter wasn’t able to secure the plates. I has to immediately grab them to prevent them from falling in our lap. My food was great but my friends food was lukewarm.
Wonderful food, staff and amazing program!
Great meal supporting a good cause. Our waitress was great but had many tables. It was fine because we had a nice leisurely meal. Food was delicious, menu was seasonal. Everyone enjoyed it.
Thank you Chad for your vision and for truly making a difference in the community. We came to dine because we wanted to support the cause, but we found the food was not only good, it was truly exceptional! Look forward to our next time!
What a special, special place. My wife and I went for the first time, based more on the concept than on what the food might be like. And that was a mistake! The concept is so great: take young(er) kids coming out of juvenile facilities and give them a paying job in a restaurant where they learn all facets of food service. Teach them a marketable skill. A hand up!
But the food! The food was, truly, better than I thought it would be. From the first bite (spicy zucchini cornbread) we knew we had found some high quality food. We both had salads (Caesar for me, Texas pear salad for my wife) which were oh so very good. For main courses my wife had the rave-reviewed smoked fried chicken, and it did not disappoint! Exceptional! I had the NY strip, a perfect medium, super tender, really really good. For dessert we split the chocolate chip cookie pot which was, of course, excellent!
Service was exceptional. So many of the young people there seem to swing by the table and make sure everything was all right. And they were so casual, so laid back, it really made for a fun dining experience; not a stuffy white tablecloth pressed shirt kind of deal (no tablecloths by the way, and the dress ranged from business to casual).
I can not recommend this fine restaurant enough! Go check it out!!
The food is delicious and the cause is incredible.
Great job!! Love supporting your work!!
Cafe Momentum was better than I could ever have imagined. My wife was holding back tears the entire night. Tears of happiness, because she loved their mission. On top of their community support, the food was outstanding and delicious. Service was impeccable as well. Not only do we want to taste their food again, but we love knowing our money is going to a good cause. This is why we will be returning, and often at that.
I’ve been wanting to try this place for a few years. I’m a huge fan of their mission and am very happy to see them continuing to succeed. We went for dinner early on a Saturday it was about half full, really enjoyed the lighting level, some might think it a bit dark but I thought it added to the experience. All the waitstaff were very attentive and accommodating. We had a couple of beers and started with the goat cheese, could have used more of that Bonton Farms honey concoction, twas delicious! To their credit they noticed and brought us more bread to finish the rest of the cheese. I had the house salad, would probably try another one next time. Then for the main course I had fried chicken topped with a biscuit over mashed potatoes and greens, everything was great! My wife had the steak and it was very good, cooked perfectly. The rest of her plate was over salted, wilted spinach & frites... we finished with a lemon cake or similar for dessert and it was gone in a flash. All in all it was a fantastic experience.
The concept of the restaurant is brilliant and very successful. Teaching youth the restaurant business while running a business is challenging, but is working quite well. The food was delicious and interesting. The service was fantastic. Congratulations to the Owners and Management. Congratulations to the youth.
We introduced 3 more people to the Magical Cafe Momentum! After appetizers - cheese board, breads, and roasted carrots, every one chose a different entree and all were wonderful!
Unbelievable. This place is amazing
Food is excellent. 44 Farms NY strip preparation was spot on. Apps and salads all fresh. Ate there twice in 2 weeks. Value is outstanding. This is a non profit for at risk juveniles. They wait tables so sometime they are not as attentive as professional waiters. They are learning a trade. Worth the experience and instead of tipping you provide a tax free contribution to the cause. The experience, the food and talking to the kids and staff made a 40% contribution a no brainer.
Celebrating our awesome farm staff!
Great restaurant with wonderful service, fantastic food and a wonderful mission
We really enjoyed our experience at Cafe Momentum, and not only because it is a restaurant that does a good deed for the community. The food was truly outstanding, first of all. Service was great, and they were even receptive to us arriving 30 minutes early for our reservation. Do yourself a favor, and go eat at Momentum!
Excellent mission and good food. Enjoyed the ambience.
The Charcuterie board was the most delicious I've ever had. All local and quite a variety for all palates. The purpose of this establishments elevates the dining experience to another level!
People friendly, great cause, good ambience, great food, and just enough choices on the menu that doesn’t get you overwhelmed.
This is a great idea and we support it wholeheartedly. The trout was very good, but a small portion. The NY Strip, on the other hand, was more than enough but not the quality you would find in any of Dallas' steakhouses. Service was very attentive but the food took about 30 minutes from order to service, which made us glad we left plenty of time to get to the Meyerson.
First of all, what this restaurant is doing for the youth is to be applauded. Everyone was having fun, yet taking their job seriously. Our servers were extremely polite and thorough. The food was fabulous and beautiful. The vegetables were fresh from the farm, the flavors spot on and delightful.
The only recommendation for improvement would be to have the servers keep a closer eye on water glasses. We had to request refills several times. This aside, these young men and women were a pleasure and gave us better service than we have had at many other restaurants.
Keep up the good work! We will definitely be back.
This restaurant is a non-profit designed to train at risk youth and to give them relevant skills to allow them to succeed. The concept is so powerful and the execution is flawless. It is such a happy place and their mission should be supported. Plus, the food is exceptional - order the meat tray off the appetizer menu - a complete assortment of powerful an original tastes. The wine list is good, and is very reasonably priced - it is all a great bargain for what you get. Support this restaurant. You will want to return.
Another wonderful visit to this inspirational non-profit. We introduced 3 new people to the venue and every one had a wonderful meal. Pork chops, shrimp, ravioli, steak, fish, carrots, salads, cheese board & breads... all were awesome!
Food was delicious! Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Easy to have a conversation. Great experience.
This place is must, the food and ambience is fantastic. But more importantly the mission of this restaurant sets it above almost any restaurant.
Perfect every which way
Cafe Momentum was amazing tonight. We loved the Momentum Salad, the Shrimp with Cheese Grits and Coffee Rubbed 44 Farms New York Strip. All were delicious!
Chris, our servicer, was outstanding. He was very attentive and was a joy to talk to during dinner.
We have been going to CM since they opened in 2015 and they keep raising the game every year. Bravo to Chad Houser, Fuzz Collins and the CM crew!
This place is a definite must do in Dallas!
Fantastic meal, fantastic cause… Everyone should go here!
Fantastic atmosphere, fantastic food, fantastic staff. Cafe Momentum never disappoints.
Fun atmosphere, complimentary valet and excellent food
