Cafe Miro Ratings and Reviews
We went with a couple from the Mainland who enjoy good food and a place to have good conversations as well as good food, and Cafe Miro was perfect. We took a special bottle of wine because they have a small vineyard of wine grapes at their home and appreciate fine stuff, and the restaurant was exceptionally good about decanting and serving the wine.
There were food choices that worked for everyone. They started with good ingredients, treated them well, spiced them perfectly, and presented them elegantly. The service was informed and attentive, without being over-bearing or making anyone feel rushed.
In our opinion, you would not make a mistake to go there whenever you feel like a modest treat.
Thoroughly enjoyed my birthday dinner with my wife. Seafood salad, fresh catch, duck confit (not on the menu that night but they graciously prepared it for me) all excellent! Even had a lovely "Happy Birthday" chocolate labeled dessert plate! Service is excellent although not hurried. In fact, prepare to spend some time there as the courses don't come quickly. We will definitely be back!
The price fixe is an excellent value, especially since the quality of the ingredients and the outstanding preparation are at high level! The service is very attentive and every effort is made to make each guest feel welcome! A little off the tourist path, but take a cab or Uber to Cafe Miro in Kaimuki, no disappointment!
Cafe Miro is always good. I enjoy the flavors and presentation. I recommend this restaurant strongly. Certainly, we have never been disappointed. Further, a few weeks ago, I organized a dinner for about 30 people. I chose Cafe Miro and the evening was a great success.
My wife and I spent New Year's Eve dining at one of our favorite restaurants in Honolulu ... there was a special five course menu for $65 with a few options. We started with a petite serving of soba noodles, followed by an appetizer plate with an oyster, a slice of vegetable terrine, cauliflower with chicken, foie gras over rice in spoon and a slice of salmon ... next was a scallop and shrimp appetizer for my wife and for me more foie gras (extra cost). Then the main course, confit of duck for me and two lamb chops for my wife. Dessert was a sampler trio, all delicious! With a wide selection of wines by the glass and bottle, it was another fabulous meal at this little gem of a restaurant in Kaimuki ... from the outside you'd never know there is a slice of France residing in an unassuming building at the corner of Waialae and 9th Avenues. Highly recommended!
Second time at Cafe Miro, this time for a birthday dinner. They were attentive to details making it a special occasion. Once again the food was excellent. Everyone enjoyed their tasting menu selections and the service was superb. It was a great choice and everyone left happy, including the birthday girl.
Made reservations here for my birthday thinking it would be good and a fun experience. We were excited based on others reviews, they must have just fell short that night. For how expensive the place is the appetizer was cold and bland , the abalone and scallop white curry was way under par. The pan seared Opah was over cooked and a bit burnt. The creme brûlée was okay though. Overall we were extremely disappointed for the price of the food.
Delicious food-awesome service. My fiancée and I were very well attended to and the staff was very generous with their time and attention to detail. The food was delicious-loved everything about what I had. We came to Cafe Miro as a Post-Thanksgiving date and I'm so happy we did! We will definitely be back. Prices are reasonable too!
Aloha, Cafe Miro is the best neighborhood restaurant in Kaimuki. Nice prix fixe menu, lots of choices and great flavors. Nice use of local veges, oysters, etc, yet with a European-Asian flaire. We had a party of 8, the service was impeccable. Nice Riedel wine glasses. We will definitely be back.
Cafe Miro is truely a neighborhood gem with nice ambiance and wonderful service. The food's taste and presentation was great. The service was highly memorable since every server and manager serviced our table, leaving not a single glass empty and removed compeleted dishes immediately. Definitely recommend Cafe Miro.
I have lived in this neighborhood for over 50 years and I've found this gem right under my nose.
The service is impeccable, excellent food and wine and the ambience, although somewhat dated, was comfortable.
I definitely will be back again.
Thank you for this wonderful experience!
Excellent dinner. Always consistently wonderful dinner. We have been to cafe Miro many times over the years and each time we leave commenting on how delicious and tasty our meal was. The staff are friendly and welcoming . Thank you cafe miro for another satisfying meal.
A pleasant surprise for my 1st time. Loved everything about the restaurant. It's been in our neighborhood for years and my girlfriend decided to take me there for my bday. It was her 2d time there. The food was outstanding & reasonably priced and the service impeccable. We talked about our experience days later saying we'll definitely return.
