We have been going to Café Miro for several years now and have always been pleased with their food offerings. We will be going back again with friends later this month.
We've dined at Cafe Miro several times and have always had excellent service and absolutely delicious meals.
All in all, great dining experience. We had a group of 11 so had a private room. That was perfect.
The dessert was ok. The starters and entree’s were very good to excellent. Service was excellent.
I would go back.
Take notice-they add 4% for the kitchen. So we added 16% more.
It is always a pleasure dining at Cafe Miro.
Service is excellent, and Staff is friendly and pleasant.
Food is excellent with an ambiance in which to savour fine dining and good company.
We enjoyed the food and the service was outstanding. We plan to visit Cafe Miro regularly from now on. Well worth the money.
Always a pleasure to return. great food for reasonable cost.
Café Miro provides delicious French food and attentive, personable service in a comfortable, laid-back atmosphere. Unlike most fine-dining restaurants, Café Miro isn't stuffy. All your attention can be concentrated on their amazing menu and the company of those at your table. It's a family-friendly hole-in-the-wall, and I can't wait to return! (Big MAHALO to Ryan and the rest of the wait staff for making dinner an event to remember!)
The delicious food creations of the chef and his staff hit the mark every single time. Combined with the casual elegance and Miro' art hit the ambience mark. The service is excellent. Their crew is attentive and very cordial. Always a treat to dine here.
Excellent food, our first waiter seemed to forget about us at the beginning of our meal. The second waiter really paid much better attention. Otherwise, we really had a great meal.
Delicious appetizers -raw oysters, seafood medley salad & scallops - so yummy w/ generous portions- chicken entree was delicious but portion was a little skimpy. Moon fish entree beautiful presentation & tasty but fish was not as moist, texture slightly rubbery
Food was excellent as usual
This was our second time at Café Miro and both were fabulous. The food is creative, the service is excellent, the ambiance is comfortable.
The first time was a birthday party for my father's 95th and they were wonderful and we found then that the ADA accessibility really worked.
This time, they did a wonderful job of turning their big tables in to tables for 2 on Valentine's Day that really worked. Yes, we were at a big table, shared across some space with another couple, but we felt like we were at our own table.
What they need to do is to provide a good online menu for special events in advance and to update their menu for regular days.
We will go back SOON, I hope.
My wife and I enjoyed the all the dishes served on a Valentine's Day menu. Everything was tasty and the next dish was served soon after we finished one dish.
We came here for Valentines day for a nice romantic dinner away from the kids. This is a nice, cozy restaurant with excellent food. Though I must say the parking situation sucks. There is a parking lot in the back (the bank's parking lot), which was full. There are a few stalls on Waialae, or you can try and park on the side streets (good luck with that).
For Valentines, they had a $90 pre fixe menu. There were 5 courses, and we had a lot of food in those courses. Everything was delicious and well prepared. I can't think of any dish that was disappointing. I absolutely loved the lamb entree that I had. I would have licked the plate clean if it was socially acceptable. And my wife's opah was also excellent, though I am a sucker for yuzu.
Although I am lactose intolerant to a certain degree, this menu didn't make my stomach go crazy. Surprising considering that every single course had cream in it (most of them quite a lot). The food was good enough that I though it was worth the inevitable punishment that would come later. Glad it didn't come, though. It was a lot of food, we both left more than stuffed.
Service was okay. It seems that they work as a team. We kept on having different servers helping us an dropping off food. It was a little weird at first, but we eventually figured it out. The servers seemed knowledgeable and were quick to answer questions about the menu.
On the way to the bathroom, I noticed a separate room, like a private dining room. In this room was a few tables with families (ie little kids). While I can't say that I support segregation, I appreciated the kid-free dining room. I have kids of my own, I know how they can be!
All in all, this was a very good dining experience. I will definitely be back again.
Fish was to dry/over cooked
Slow service especially waiting for the check
Service was excellent, Food was awesome , it was a wonderful evening with special people.
The spare ribs appetizer is amazing and the oysters is exquisite and the creme brulee
My husband and I enjoy Cafe Miro very much. Excellent meals at reasonable prices. It is definitely not geared to the swinging singles scene but if you want a relaxed atmosphere where you can actually enjoy a conversation with your dinner companions, this is a good choice. Nice wine list and the beer list has been expanded recently. We will return again to Cafe MIro. The pan fried seafood salad appetizer is to die for.......... likewise my favorite entree scallops in a very light curry sauce.......... followed by the mixed plate dessert which offers small portions of 4 different things.
First time to try this place. Friendly staff and good service. Daily catch of opah was excellent. Along with rack of lamb. My friends were also very satisfied. Definitely will go back for those special occasions.
Cafe Miro is our favorite place in Honolulu. The food is excellent and the service is top notch, looking forward to our next visit.
This was a pleasant reprieve from the Kalakaua expensive and touristy places, and set back a few miles, is clearly where “the locals go”. However the food was excellent, small but fairly priced wine list and cocktails at prices that were prevalent many yrs ago. Service also quite good a plenty of servers eager to please. The downside is a space a tad dated with plastic table cloths, and one that needs a paint job. It is certainly pleasant enough, however, unless one relies heavily on glitzy surroundings. One of the best entrees in my five nights in Waikiki for a fair price, so spend the ten dollar uber fare to check it out !
We have been coming to Cafe Miro for decades and we always enjoy Chef Kobayashi French cooking skill . His GM Ryan always makes our evening enjoyable with impeccable attention to details & Service ; especially since we always come with a large group and eager to finish on time for our next group activities after dinner.
The menu is very good and always with a uniform excellent standard . The only suggestion to add is to have the menu includes 2 to 3 monthly specials ( and be a bit more adventuresome & creative in this regard to show the Mind of the Chef ; that will be the difference between a very good chef versus a great chef ! )
Great food, great service. Definitely a place that is worth going back for or even trying out for the first time. It’s great for every occasion.
I've always enjoyed coming here for special occasions. This last visit for a birthday that fell on New Year's Eve was a little disappointing with the 5 course menu. First off, we mentioned that my bf doesn't like wasabi, which was listed as a ingredient for one of the main courses, so no wasabi sauce for him. Then we discovered that we had 2 different menus with different main course options. Waiter explained that the lamb was only going to be served if they ran out of an entree. So why did we have the menu?!? He went in to check and told us we can order the lamb. Great!
The first course that came out was a soba noodle. Not knowing that there were wasabi in it, my bf got a mouthful of the wasabi sauce and ruined his first impression of the place. It took us at least 4-5 minutes to flag down someone to let them know. They ended up substituting with a vichyssoise soup. I understand that our waiter might be new, but he should at least know what he was serving. The second course was brought out by a different server. There was no explanation of what we had on the plate with 5-6 various bite sized items. It was a guessing game for a couple of them.
Bf got the steak without the wasabi sauce, and I had the lamb for the main course. Steak was good per bf, but the lamb was delicious! I think that was the highlight of the meal for sure. We closed the restaurant and they were nice to not say anything about them being closed.
I would definitely come back and will assume that they were slammed for New Years Eve.
We came in for a lovely New Year's Eve Celebration.
Ryan ,Joe and the rest of the Team Served us well! The Menu from Chef was perfect
See you soon!
Geoff & Lehua
The reception was pleasant. The service was attentive. The food was well prepared. We both had the lamb; outstanding. Happy Birthday Catherine, was printed out on my wife’s menu; nice surprise ;) Great experience; I look forward to the next visit.
Our server Jason was professional and engaging. Meal was superb.
Cafe Miro NEVER advertises because anyone who is anyone knows the food & its reputation!!!
The moment you arrive at this charming neighborhood restaurant your met with warm greetings. The service compliments the genuine nature of this wonderful French café.
Food -- tasty. Attentiveness -- enough but not rushed. Enjoyable time. We will definitely return.
Even though it was a simple menu tonight, food was very good! Taste, prepared right, but the service was not on point tonight. Could it be not so experienced servers? Staff was triple that of a normal night, but lacked in many areas of service. But still, it's Christmas Eve.
Great venue and a great chef. Service was awesome. A memorable experience.
Cafe Miro is one of the best hidden gems in Kaimuki Town. The Manager, Ryan and wait staff were all so accommodating and treated us all so kindly. We were celebrating my husband’s Birthday and our Friend’s Anniversary tonight. They made a special personalized menu and Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary written in Chocolate!! Sooo sweet of them!! The Food, Drinks, Customer Service is so Amazing and off the charts!! I would highly recommend everyone to come try this Restaurant!! It’s one of the best in town!!
Excellent menu, well thought out, but necessarily limited due to size of room and value oriented pricing. Wine list small and dominated by domestic offerings. Reasonable pricing.
Enjoy coming here several times a year. As always, the food and service were great.
I visited this restaurant 4 years ago and enjoyed the dinner very much, they continuous gave me an enjoyable dinner. Will return to this place again when I return to Honolulu next time. The only disappointed surprise in compare 4 years ago; they do not offer BYO options; even their web-site say so; now they are charging USD 25.00 for one bottle. I hope they can update their information accordingly
This was only my second visit in two years. I was rewarded with professional service and fine dining. Wonderfully prepared french dining.
Wonderful food, excellent service, great value!
Wonderful meal. Excellent service in a quiet, relaxed atmospheres
Nice quiet restaurant for times you want to talk with your guests. Creative food. The lamb chops were especially excellent. Good service. Parking is around the corner behind the restaurant.
