Cafe Miro
Good
Only complaint, 1. had to wait for wine to be chilled, not a big deal 2. Was told that desert plate did not have créme brulee so ended up ordering a separate cb (big), desert plate did have cb, had been told correctly would have gotten desert plate.
Our 3rd x here, scallops are to die for, steak I remember being better on previous visits.
Definitely going back....
Wonderful French food with a Japanese touch. Very attentive staff. Warm ambiance with Miro art on the walls.
Excellent French cuisine with a twist of Japanese, surprisingly compatible. They offer very good values on their set meals. Service is outstanding and very friendly. A great evening with quality food
We had a wonderful dinner. Excellent service. All food were superb, served at perfect timing with beautiful presentation and tasted so good. Volume was more than expected. Appetizer portion are so big, almost like a size of entree!! Started with a small cup of potate soup, it was very creamy and tasted wonderful. The special appetiser Pork was melting in your mouth. My boyfriend had rib steak as main, it was very tender and tasted so good even without sauce. My main, the Grilled fish had nice smokiness that I love. Sauteed veg was so tasty too, it was more than just a side on the plate. I will recommend CAFE MIRO to anyone. This place is a precious gem at the heart of Kaimuki!
Food was very delicious overall.
Will be back. The price was very reasonable, too.
Just one thing, can not figure why they added tips for their kitchen staff on the tab? Very confusing!
Cafe Miro is never a disappointment, food, service, everything is always perfect. Highly recommended neighborhood jewel
We find that the appetizer were very good and good size. Not like the tiny portions you get at high end restaurants. Dressing was tasty too. As for the entrees, chicken was tender but the sauce could have more taste. The sides were small but tasty. We hoped that they were more. Fixed menus are good way to go. Good value. We will come back.
Friendly and cheerful atmosphere. Food is very good, and the restaurant is clean.
Personal opinion - food was slightly on the sweet side
my opah was good and not over cooked but the lamb’s was again was a bit gamey
Wonder if sweeter side because run by Japanese.
The music is nice, local feel and waiter accommodating but service very slow.
Price of course was a good deal
Great service and excellent price for the amount and quality of food served.
Services were not up to the level of fine dining. We felt like eating at a fast food cafe.
This is a hidden gem in Kaimuki. Everything about Café Miro was well-done. After seeing a fantastic movie at Kahala Mall, we made our way to Kaimuki and enjoyed a delightful and delicious meal. We'll be back! The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable too.
As there aren't many French restaurants on the island, we were pleasantly surprised to find this gem in the Kaimuki dining scene. Definitely a good price for what you get and everything was delicious. Service was a bit slow but with good company, you don't notice that much.
I felt good! But I want to be evolved 15years ago.I feel a little disappointed about that.
Amazing food and service. Wait time for entree was a bit long but the food was awesome. Foigras-don is indeed a masterpiece! Very attentive waitstaff.
Excellent service and food.
Had a lovely New Years Eve dinner
We will see you all soon
Exquisite service and food. Wine pricey, and we would have liked to have been offered a refill of our small cups of decaf coffee...
We'll definitely be going again for another special occasion.
お料理が、何を食べても美味しい。デザートのチーズの量が多くて食べ切れませんでした。
Sort of tacky place with plastic table cloths. We sat down and before we could order a drink they asked if we were ready to order our meals.
Not exactly fine dining.
Guess with a special holiday prie fix menu most item prepped way too early
I would not call this a fusion restaurant, but more of a French restaurant with Japanese influences, where the influences can be found in the ingredients (Hokkaido scallops, daikon sauce, wasabi sauce) while the preparation/presentation is closer to French. You basically order from a prix fixe menu: The Soleil option gives you 1 appetizer choice, 1 entree choice, and one dessert choice; The Plaisir option adds an additional appetizer choice. All of the food was tasty and the service was fast, friendly and excellent. Parking is in the lot behind the restaurant (the bank stalls are supposedly available at night) or on the street. The atmosphere is casual, not stuffy like a fancy French restaurant. Cafe Miro is highly recommended!
5 stars all the way. Consistently high quality !!
Delicious fare. Our party of 6 had 4 different entrees and all reported the food to be excellent. Portions were just right. The vischsoisse amuse bouche was a final that we were in for a wonderful gastronomic experience! The staff was attentive, patient and very professional.
Excellent food & service!
As always the food and service was excellent. Recommend for any special occasion.
Great food and service!
Menu was somewhat limited. They were out of their fresh catch at 7pm. The restaurant was not crowded, so makes you wonder if they had it at all that evening.
Delicious
Good service
If you are a bit cheaper, you want to go frequently
We had never been to this iconic restaurant although we've passed it many times in Kaimuki over the 11 years they've been open. They serve French cuisine by a Japanese chef, Shigeru Kobayashi. After celebrating an annual Christmas dinner with high school friends in a nice private room in the back of the restaurant, we returned the following week to dine with family. A week later, we took some friends who enjoy good food. The wait staff remembered us and provided excellent service. The menu is ala carte or prix fixe with choices right off the ala carte menu. The fresh oysters were a big hit. The lamb, scallop, and grilled opah were also favorites. Probably not the best place to eat steak. Their tasting plates are a good way to try a little of everything (appetizer and dessert plates are offered). The value is great for the amount and quality of food you receive. Free parking is in the back.
Food was wonderful. Well flavored but not overpowering. Staff is nice and helpful. Not snooty. Great neighborhood restaurant. If you want a dark romantic dinner maybe not; but if you want a great experience with great food and service, this is it. Casual. No need to dress up.
Very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity of food.
The appetizer, soup and dessert were amazing. We were, however, disappointed with the entree (sole and opah). The fish was fine, but the butter sauce was too heavy for us. Service was great. I would go back and ask for the sauce on the side.
Bravo, Cafe Miro!
We celebrated our wedding anniversary there primarily because we had a gift certificate; what a wonderful neighborhood restaurant! The attention to detail, imaginative and tasty dishes and the wonderful service made our celebration all the more special; Bravo, Cafe Miro! We will be back!
Always a solid dining experience with excellent food and a great supportive staff.
Seafood rules.
I should go here more often!
Gave us a requested quiet corner of the restaurant. Great food and attentive service. Our business partner was very impressed. Thank you.
We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Cafe Miro after a good friend’s recommendation. True to his word, this restaurant was quiet, all of the food served was amazing with good sized portions and priced to keep us wanting to come back. They specialize in course meals, two options included a course meal with one or two appetizers. The appetizers are like an entree and each person could choose their own! At the end, we were so full, we were glad we didn’t get the second appetizer! Oh and did I mention, they come around with freshly baked bread rolls throughout your meal; the sweet server came around three times to our table! Yummy warm and fresh!!
The touches were amazing, too. Friendly wait staff and host, they had a cute “happy anniversary” sign on the table as we sat down and, also, written with chocolate on our dessert plates. They offered us complimentary half-glasses of champagne. My husband and I don’t drink so a half-glass was sufficient to taste and just enjoy each other’s company.
The only thing I can point out is the inside window ledges were dirty and dusty but we didn’t mind since there was ample space and didn’t come close to touching it. We definitely recommend this place and will come again... soon, I hope!
Cafe Miro is still wonderful. After being open for more than 21 years, the food is consistently great. Last night, they had Japanese hamburger steak Cafe Miro style and it was fabulous. It was made with great cuts of meat (either ground Rib Eye or ground Prime Rib) and it was so delicious. My favorite appetizer is the Seafood Medley, which comprises of Opah, Shrimp, Hokkaido Shrimp, Veggies, etc. So delicious!
