Café Milano Ratings and Reviews
This used to be one of favorites when in DC. Main issue was lack of service compounded by issues with food. We were serviced more by others than our own waiter who was where??? Waiter never checked to see how meal was. One of our orders was barely warm. Busboy rectified but after it was brought back no one double-checked. No one checked on my companion's meal at all.
Food was OK but not stellar like it used to be. Really disappointed, especially at the price point.
There are good waiters there. The other person in our section was one. Unfortunately, we didn't get him.
We went for the Sunday BRUNCH. Mildly disappointed in the limited menu, and the "buffet" part was even more limited. Not horrible, but not a great choice given the many other such "buffet-followed by one item off the menu" brunch choices in DC. If you like the free flowing wine, then maybe that will make up for the lack of choices.
We chose this restaurant for a double date and it was fantastic. Our whole table ordered the ravioli and it was to die for. I would go back just to order it again. We also split the chocolate mousse and the tiramisu; both of which were delicious. The white tablecloths and candles made it a very romantic setting. Would absolutely recommend to other couples.
Always enjoy the great food and wine at Cafe Milano. We were there for dinner and shared delicious salads to start. Loved the scallops, hubby had sea bass which was excellent. Our two friends loved the lobster and can't remember the other main dish, but it was reportedly tasty.
I was in town for a conference and brought people to this restaurant. The waitstaff was superb from the minute we walked in. Our waiter was always around and available. We were immediately served drinks and the food didn't take long to come. Amazing food by the way. Have no complaints. It's on the pricier side though so know that before going.
Cafe Milano is a great Italian restaurant in the heart of Georgetown. We take our college son and his friends to dine there when we are visiting. Pasta and other dishes are wonderful, appetizers are delicious, and fun atmosphere. Restaurant is lively and always full. There is some outdoor seating, too. We will definitely go back again!
I was very sad to find that upon our arrival, we were informed that they were having issues in their kitchen so they could not make any pasta dishes as well as some of the other entrees. It would have been more proper, if they had attempted to contact you prior to inform this news so we can either make other arrangements or decide to still go. We were celebrating both my mom's 73rd and my husband's 40th bday together -_- a rare occasion for a family get together(we do not live in the same coast).
With that said, we still enjoyed their food - good quality. Just really wished that we could've had more of a variety of choices in our entrees. We were forced to choose three pizzas.... because we couldn't order pastas or other entrees on the menu.
This was the best Italian menu I've seen this side of Italy. The staff were incredible, the wine paired beautifully and the ambiance was fun, fast paced, and vibrant. I'll be back and take friends and family. Already recommended Cafe Milano to my brother who will be in D.C. In a few weeks!! Cannot wait to be back, my new staple for Georgetown.
Visiting Café Milano is a great opportunity to have a pleasant atmosphere, fine Italian cuisine and an impeccable service in one place! We were really impressed! And I had one of the best saffron risotto, I've ever tried! Definitely, will recommend to experience this lovely restaurant!
I have been to this restaurant several times. My last two visits have been disappointing. The service was subpar, especially for a restaurant with a well known name. The food was average and for the price not worth the time. I could have enjoyed the food more had the service been so poor and cold.
Cafe Milano is my favorite Italian restaurant in Washington, DC. The pastas are always perfectly prepared al dente, and the flavors are clean and delicious. I had the pasta with black truffles and porcini mushrooms as my main course. The flavors were perfectly balanced. As they brought it to the table, the scent of the generous portion of truffles wafted over first, promising the pleasures to come! The appetizer portion was large enough for me as a main course but a man may want to order a larger portion. I combined it with the citrus-marinated salmon first course so I had a perfect amount to eat, for me. While not inexpensive, it is priced very favorably compared to the price of similar porcini and truffle pasta dishes at comparable restaurants in NYC and CT. The menu is extensive enough to give you a great choice in every category but it is not so large as to overwhelm. I am always left wanting to come back to try other items. The service is exceptional and personal. Even though we come infrequently because we do not live in DC, we are always treated as well as their "regulars." They know how to make you feel special and appreciated. Great people watching too as many of our political leaders also enjoy Cafe Milano.
Café Milano was highly recommended to us so we thought we better check it out while we were visiting D.C. It was extremely busy which is always a good sign. Food was delicious (in-house made pasta) although not as hot as we would have liked. Maybe they could heat their plates so food doesn't cool off so fast. We had the best Aperol Spritz's there which reminded us of our time in Italy. Also we felt very rushed by our waiter. Like she wanted to turn over our table to get more customers in and I didn't like that feeling. For what we were spending there I would have rather felt like we were special guests.
