Café Milano Ratings and Reviews
Every personal touch in this establishment pays tribute to fine dining -- from the otherworldly quality of the table linens to the jaw-dropping consistency of and ingredients in the sauce. Small tomatoes glisten with perfection, delicate fungi are paired with watercress, and expertly prepared pasta manages to be both filling and light at the same time -- but all are flavorful and memorable. Waiters are warm and attentive without being heavy-handed nuisances. While not for cheapskates, when the bill comes it all somehow seems quite reasonable for the experience. I can still savor the wine in my mind's eye. Loveliness abounds.
The noise level was so high that conversation across a table for two was difficult.
From the table in the corner of the windows I enjoyed an unimpeded view of the splendid Christmas tree outside.
Valet parking service would be desirable. Having to walk up and down the ramp in the garage adjacent to the restaurant and having to pay $18 might discourage some customers from returning.
seating is awfully arranged. The table next to us could barely move and same with us; small portions; was expecting more variety; our bill was off by $100 and to fix it the manager only took off $30, how do you make that mistake and rectify it with comping us $30? We had to be elsewhere and I wasn't trying to ruin the night so we left. Instead of linguine they put spaghetti in as pasta and when pointed out said it would take an extra 15 min to recreate it, which didn't happen as the waiter said it might take longer. Then lobster was added to our bill which I never asked for or received- and then charged me for it?? I ordered lamb!! The waiter then said that he could make up for all that was was wrong by comp'ing the desserts-that never happened. Was really looking forward to taking my husband out for a special birthday at this place and was extremely disappointed.
This used to be one of favorites when in DC. Main issue was lack of service compounded by issues with food. We were serviced more by others than our own waiter who was where??? Waiter never checked to see how meal was. One of our orders was barely warm. Busboy rectified but after it was brought back no one double-checked. No one checked on my companion's meal at all.
Food was OK but not stellar like it used to be. Really disappointed, especially at the price point.
There are good waiters there. The other person in our section was one. Unfortunately, we didn't get him.
We went for the Sunday BRUNCH. Mildly disappointed in the limited menu, and the "buffet" part was even more limited. Not horrible, but not a great choice given the many other such "buffet-followed by one item off the menu" brunch choices in DC. If you like the free flowing wine, then maybe that will make up for the lack of choices.
We chose this restaurant for a double date and it was fantastic. Our whole table ordered the ravioli and it was to die for. I would go back just to order it again. We also split the chocolate mousse and the tiramisu; both of which were delicious. The white tablecloths and candles made it a very romantic setting. Would absolutely recommend to other couples.
Always enjoy the great food and wine at Cafe Milano. We were there for dinner and shared delicious salads to start. Loved the scallops, hubby had sea bass which was excellent. Our two friends loved the lobster and can't remember the other main dish, but it was reportedly tasty.
I was in town for a conference and brought people to this restaurant. The waitstaff was superb from the minute we walked in. Our waiter was always around and available. We were immediately served drinks and the food didn't take long to come. Amazing food by the way. Have no complaints. It's on the pricier side though so know that before going.
Cafe Milano is a great Italian restaurant in the heart of Georgetown. We take our college son and his friends to dine there when we are visiting. Pasta and other dishes are wonderful, appetizers are delicious, and fun atmosphere. Restaurant is lively and always full. There is some outdoor seating, too. We will definitely go back again!
I was very sad to find that upon our arrival, we were informed that they were having issues in their kitchen so they could not make any pasta dishes as well as some of the other entrees. It would have been more proper, if they had attempted to contact you prior to inform this news so we can either make other arrangements or decide to still go. We were celebrating both my mom's 73rd and my husband's 40th bday together -_- a rare occasion for a family get together(we do not live in the same coast).
With that said, we still enjoyed their food - good quality. Just really wished that we could've had more of a variety of choices in our entrees. We were forced to choose three pizzas.... because we couldn't order pastas or other entrees on the menu.
