Exceptional in every way. Service is top notch. Appetizers of cold tomato soup and burrata were delicious. Entrees of cod, sea bass and pasta were cooked perfectly and with the freshest ingredients. Cafe Milano is a special occasion restaurant that delights in every way.
Horrible service. Food was good.
Delicious food and fun atmosphere, although VERY loud - it's fun, but not romantic. We ordered drinks, they came right away. Ordered starters and main courses, a few minutes later, we were enjoying salads. 50 minutes after we finished salads, we got our entrees. No apologies, no acknowledgment. Acted astounded when we weren't going to order coffee or dessert (it was 10:30pm by then).
Fun place, good food, just LOOOOONNG wait for your food.
Wonderful meal and wonderful ambience GREAT service, tables are a little close together which increases the noise level but overall highly reccomend
Fabulous food, great service. Wines a bit pricey but overall, very worth the cost of the dinner.
The wait staff was very heful and the dessert chef created ZAMBALGIONE FOR EACH OF US. FANTASTIC.
Cafe Milano has consistently impressed me and is hands down my favorite restaurant spot in DC! I have recommended it to many friends/family/DC visitors, and will continue to do so! It can be pricey, but in my opinion, well worth every dime!
I have been going to Café Milano for so many years I can’t count. I don’t go as regularly anymore; however, Franco, the owner, still rolls out the red carpet when I arrive! The service is impeccable. The environment is enchanting. The entire experience is glamorous and fun! Not to mention the delicious food! Cafe Milano never disappoints!
Thank you, Franco ! I’m sorry I missed you, Laurent!
Fantastic on every level.
Absolutely delicious! I fly up from Austin, TX for this meal/experience.
Best dinner ever! Thank you always for best service in town!
Food and service was superb. Had a table by the front windows so noise was moderate. Great atmosphere and dining experience!
I did my legal vows with my wife today (wedding celebration later this month) but thought to celebrate just the two of us tonight. I called the restaurant yesterday and told them about the affair and that I wanted a good table and NOT one in the corner. We get there and they put us in the farthest most corner in the restaurant. While the people in the front congratulated us there was zero special treatment. People get something even if a tiny desert or a glass of champagne at most restaurants for their birthday. I don't want anything for free but even an offer... We were just another table - they didn't even put us somewhere where we could take good pictures. Waiter said zero. This was typical DC restaurant attitude at its finest-could never fathom this happening in NYC, LA, London or Dubai. Those places actually appreciate your customers. Very unfortunate for a landmark like this...
Always a perfect experience. The way you're greeted, the setting. The service. The food. Remains at the top of any list for great Italian food, but a great experience with someone special, or to celebrate.
I went there for dinner with my family on a Saturday evening. The place was energetic and a scene. We ordered dinner (no apps) and drinks and were surprised how quickly the food arrived. My pasta with lobster arrived before my drink. It felt as if they wanted to flip our table and get us out quickly. The pasta itself was only fair as it lacked seasoning. Overall if you want a scene this place is worth going to, but if you want good food as well try another restaurant.
The restaurant was way overpriced for the quality and food portions. They pack so many tables in the dining room that you have no room to move. The restaurant is loud and in addition, they have loud music playing. Our waiter was arrogant and rude. I will never go back or recommend to anyone else.
I’ve been here many times but do not recall the portion size being so small. We were astounded. Expensive for such little portions.
Outstanding food and great service 😉👌🏻👏🏻
We enjoyed our meals at Cafe Milano, especially the gnocchi. The service was not the best since one diner in our party received the wrong meal and ended up with a very expensive meal that they didn’t order.
Work dinner great food great service
It was fabulous. The food could not have been better and the staff was extremely attentive and kind. And you were so good to our toddler, also. Thanks.
Our family Easter dinner was a disaster, Food was very good, service poor, Not the waiters fault, but the kitchen. We waited at least 30/45 after the first course was server for our entree. We were continually told it would be another minute, another minute. Problem was the risotto had to be recooked. Had we been told this my wife would have changed her order. At one time I called the manager over to complain. He acknowledged the delay, went into the kitchen, never to return.
A 6PM dinner was finished around 9PM. They waiter were very helpful and did apologize. We were comped a bottle of wine a one desert.
It will be a long time before we return, We have been going to cafe Milan for at least 10 years, soon after they opened.
We always love Cafe Milano, but this was our first time going for the Easter Brunch. They did an outstanding job of serving delicious food -- seafood, pasta, meat, desserts galore. And the staff was attentive with the Prosecco. Perfection!
Great Easter Brunch!
We have made it a family tradition to enjoy Pasqua Italiana at Cafe Milano...Never been disappointed.
Food is genuine (Gina is from Roma so she knows the Italian kitchen), plentiful and delicious.
Easter Brunch is amazing at Cafe Milano!
Very nice. In the heart of beautiful Georgetown this modern Italian place is rumored to be the place to go and be seen. Reservations were hard to get the afternoon of our visit but we were looking fir a late late lunch and when we arrived at 4:30 we were far from the only diners.
We had a rack of lamb and the meat and bruschetta appetizer. Both good. If I had it to do again I would order the whole fish covered in salt. No dessert was to my liking so we skipped it and went around the corner to try some dough.
Go. Enjoy. Try to sit at the window as we did and watch the world go by.
Food was decent. It was kind of noisy and very fancy
The food was amazing. I highly recommend the ravioli dish.
Pas très vivant mais bon accueil et bonne nourriture
Excellent service and food was exceptional. A great special occasion place. All was delicious and dessert presentation was spectacular! We will return for sure.
Lovely and gracious service; excellent food; the only negative was the noise level.
Birthday. The entrees are pricey!
Disappointed. From the food to the wine list and service. I totally understand a pricey food when is good, that was not the case there, the food was sooooo average, but a overpriced crap wine is unacceptable.
To say that this place was a dream is an understatement! Staff, ambiance, drinks, food, music, patrons... everything was perfect! Thank you to my new friends for a wonderful and memorable evening! ❤️
Hosted a group of 8 in DC this weekend and had to make sure they experienced Cafė Milano. Initially, we were disappointed that the round table by the front window wasn’t ours... we were seated in the Placido Domingo room. Turns out it was considerably more quiet than the dining room so we could actually have conversations that included the whole table. (All the more special since years ago my husband and I were seated next to Placido, his wife and Zubin Mehta as they were preparing for The Three Tenors. He actually apologized for singing while we ate!).
Everyone loved their meal, their wine and the atmosphere of this DC landmark. Service was outstanding.
Really enjoyed. Food was great, great ambiance, vibe, etc.
Think our server was perhaps stretched too thin. Despite multiple servers circulating and (at least what I perceived) as two sommeliers circulating, after 20 minutes we had to flag someone down to just take a drink order. I never feel comfortable having to be the customer to “flag someone down.”
Everything was great, except noise level was a little high. Food was great and service was very attentive.
Regretfully not our best meal there. Service was painfully slow.
