It was our first day wedding anniversary and we were looking for somewhere close to our new home to dine. It was very quaint and we’ll definitely be going back. It’ll be a great place to have dinner in the summertime.
Although they are a bit challenged with last minute open table reservations they still seated us on time and our waiter, Walter couldn’t have been nicer or more attentive. The food is incredible. This restaurant has a great vibe as well. We’ll definitely be back soon!
Love the food..
As soon as we got seated the waitress spilled a whole glass of ice water on my boyfriend and my coat. It took over 2 hours for our meal. The first waitress left, than we got a waiter & he was multitasking a couple of tables it didn’t work. I could tell he was over whelmed. The food was average.
Beautiful decorations. Outdoor fire pit. Indoor fireplace. Tuesday special of roast 1/2 chicken is a bargain. Lamb chops were wonderful 😊. As usual, Justino was a most professional and attentive waiter.
Place was freezing and none of the food came out together.
Service was very slow. When asked our waitress said they were shorthanded. It took almost an hour before we got our salad.
Im not sure what the food is like,, restaurant would not honor reservation time upon arrival,,, wait time was much longer!!
Fast, professional service. Great outside patio. Awesome live band. Large portions, great value, plenty of free, easy parking.
Must check out Sundays on the patio.
Cafe Michelangelo is a long-time favorite. On my most recent visit I was surprised to learn they were drastically changing the menu. While there are a couple of new items that look intriguing, gone is my absolute favorite, the pizza ripiena. Because they were still in a period of transition I was still able to order it, but time will tell how the new menu plays out. I would be sad to lose a restaurant I have cherished for the last 20 years.
Excellent waitress, service, food, live band. Will be back soon.
Professional service. Great food. Large selection. Ice Cold Peroni draft beer. Awesome outside patio.
Great Italian food. Large outdoor area, much of it shaded . Only problem is the Philadelphia Soda Tax, which causes them to charge for soda refills; even Diet soda. I guess Philly is encouraging drinking alcoholic beverages, because now there is not much difference in the cost of drinking soda or alcohol.
I rated service a 3 but our server was a 5 it was the kitchen that caused some inconvenience. All adults received their meal but we had 3 children and it took an extra 15 minutes to bring theirs out. I will also caveat that it was Fathers Day, we had 10 in our party and it was busy. I would definitely go back.
We made a reservation through open table for 7:30pm. We get there and they said they can't accept our reservation and it will be at least a 30 minute wait and suggested going to the bar and eating there! Wow! Why have your business on opentable if you don't honor reservations? My friends and I have had quite a few dinners here but the way I was treated last time was uncalled for. We left and had a nice dinner elsewhere.
Great neighborhood place to grab an inexpensive yet delicious meal.
We loved Cafe Michelangelo. The staff was warm, welcoming and accommodating (especially Carrie :- ) . We really appreciated having the choice of either the brunch buffet or their regular menu. The brunch and antipasto buffets were extensive, varied and well-prepared—a great value for $21.95. When we asked for a customized plate of pasta for my Mom (she has trouble chewing/swallowing), they graciously agreed to accommodate her needs. Mom's pasta was prepared exactly how she wanted it, and she was able to eat. We're looking forward to returning soon.
The most stupid waitress I have ever encountered. Only one hot dish ordered and waited almost one hour.
The atmosphere was great and happen to visit when there was live entertainment from Julian Roso which made it a night to remember. As is that wasn't good enough the food was great.
Great food and service. Amazing pizza
What a great spot to eat dinner, lunch or enjoy happy hour. Great menu items, and pizza from brick oven.
Absolutely love it here.. have been here many times and I am never disappointed.. was celebrating my Birthday with friends.. they loved it too! Cannot wait for the summer months so I can dine outside!
My husband had the veal saltimbocca the first time we visited together and said it was better than our other favorite local restaurant so he got it again this time. I had a special which was also delicious. The homemade pasta was very light and the Aurora sauce was delicious. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We will definitely be going back.
Food was excellent unfortunately that was the only good thing about this restaurant. The staff is very slow and ignorant. I tried this place as as possible rehearsal dinner spot however the attitude of the staff and the ability to handle only 12 of us was poor, I can't imagine them being able to handle 40 people. As good as the food was it's not worth returning to Cafe Michaelangelo. There are far better places that provide great service as well as delicious food. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your time trying this place. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I recently moved from Philly to Md and I was back to have a reunion with a few friends. It was a Sunday afternoon and we were seated in the bar area. I love my Eagles, too, but the bar group was too noisy to catch up with my friends.
The food was good, but the wait service seemed a bit slow.
Very attentive waitress and very informative on the menu for first time diners.
Have been trying new places This place was awful. It says a taste of south philly. Maybe the garbage cans of s philly. STAY AWAY!
First time here.
Came per a friends recommendation.
They did not have our OpenTable reservation, but we were
still seated very quickly.
Our waitress was pleasant enough, but seemed way over worked
and was a challenge to have her come by when we were in need
of drink refills, etc.
Food was pretty good. (my wife loved the pizza).
Overall a good time, but service needs to be improved.
The food is always great. The price is always good. The service could be a little better. But, overall, we had a good time. We will still go to this restaurant because we like the food and the prices. Still, an overall good value.
I always enjoy their lunch buffet vodka ravioli cheese plate with motadella and today they had mussels italian sausage & onions pizza and other pasta dishes and of course pizza
This was our first visit to Cafe MichaelAngelo. The food was plentiful and it was prepared exactly the way we all asked for it to be. There was so much food. The apps were great. The beer was cold. The food was hot and tasty. There was only four of us in this visit, but I am definitely going back. There is a group of ten to twelve of us who go to dinner sometimes and I am definitely taking this group to Cafe MichaelAngelo. This was a really good stop and we will be back.
Chose this place for dinner to celebrate my first day as a retiree. Good Italian food at reasonable prices. Outdoor seating, bar and entertainment.
Hits the spot! Cafe Michelangelo serves good, reliable food in a comfortable, family-oriented setting. Their pizza cannot be beat.
I've been there a few times lunch buffet always has something special off of there regular menu. Food is always fresh well prepared
The host wasn't very patient as she searched for a open table to seat us. When I said I had reservations I was told it didnt matter. When seated, our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. Food portions were generous for the prices and the ambiance was fun. Live music and bocce ball led to a good night.
Amazing food as always. Cafe Michelangelo is one of my girlfriend and I's favorite restaurants. The pizza is top notch, and the pasta choices are everything you'd imagine from a great Italian restaurant. Five stars all the way
Very slow disorganized service. Had to order a few things twice and track the server down for drinks and water refills. Food was poor. Pizza is good if that's what you're going for. Otherwise avoid.
We love it there!... Everyone is so friendly!... Food is generally terrific!... Always look forward to returning!... The eggplant appetizer is my personal favorite!.. I get two orders for dinner... My husband just had the veal chop special which he could not stop raving about!... Our waitress seemed a little out of sorts... Seemed to be bringing things to the table randomly... Not with any consistency... But that won't stop us from going back again and again!
Cafe Michelangelo is a consistently reliable for a delicious casual dining experience. It has a nicer atmosphere than one would expect for a strip mall. The staff is friendly and efficient, and their pizzas can't be beat. My personal favorite is the pizza ripiena. It has a liquor license, and I appreciate the house wine option which comes in varying sizes including a 1/2 carafe which is perfect for 2 people.
I absolutely love the rigatoni arribiatta. It's the perfect amount of spice in a blush sauce. I order it every single time I eat there.
