Great home made pasta
Great wait staff
We always enjoy our visits to Cafe Mercato. It was very good as usual.
Max is the best!
My husband and I had a date night here. We sat outside & it was nice. Our table was pretty close to another one, but it was fine. It didn’t feel crowded.
I ordered the special (halibut) & my husband ordered the lasagne. Both were delicious.
There was a good selection of wines from various countries and regions.
The service was good, but a little slow.
We decided while we were looking at the menu that we would need to return to try some other dishes.
The food was actually flavorful, but the service was inattentive and non existent. But at least it was slow. Frankly, I fret badly for our server because the restaurant was clearly understaffed. Need to fix that, as there is potential here.
The staff is very professional and friendly. The food was delicious and the wait for it was not long at all. The wine library makes for a very nice ambiance. We will return there often.
Excelent food choice nice service local flavor in Lowery Town Center. Easy to talk across the table in a friendly enviornment.
Love their food. Love the convenience. Last few visits saw horrible service as they appeared to be very understaffed.
This was probably our 10th visit. We were with friends from LA Sat PM. The food was decent but the restaurant was short-staffed and the service was really poor.
We love Locanda so we felt assured the experience at Mercado would be worth the drive. Unfortunately, last Saturday night was not a good night for this restaurant. Although moderately busy, our service was to say the least 'inattentive" by both the server and the bus staff. I t seemed like they were just to busy to be efficient.
The food was great, and the pricing was fine.
We have found a new favorite restaurant. I had tried Cafe Mercato once, during happy hour and had a drink and appetizer with a friend.
I suggested to my boyfriend that we try it for dinner sometime on our "date night". We were finally able to make a reservation and I am sure glad that we did. We reserved a table for dinner very easily through OpenTable, arrived and were seated promptly. The ambiance is inviting and once in the door, can see an open kitchen with chefs preparing the meals.
We ordered speciality martini's and both were very tasty. Fresh bread was served prior to the meal with EVOO and balsamic vinegar.
We ordered two entrees, Chicken Parmesan and the Grilled Pork Chop. The chicken parm was served with what we believe was homemade angel hair noodles with just the right amount of sprinkled parsley and the pork chop was thick cut, grilled to perfection, served with mashed potatoes and the best Brussel sprouts I have tasted in a long time.
We had to save room for dessert and ordered creme brûlée and peach sorbet. Please do not pass this place over. We will be back and delighted to make our way through their delicious menu.
Upscale food and service in casual and relaxed surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent contemporary Italian food, with some traditional dishes. Creative pasta dishes, interesting small plates and flavorful sauces. With everything so tasty and creatively presented, all five of us shared each other's plates. More than ample portions of everything. Excellent wine list. We have been here a number of times and have never been disappointed. Despite the many choices, I will always start with their meatballs in tomato sauce--takes me home!
Been here many times and have never been disappointed. The risotto special was spectacular and all three in our party were very pleased with our meals. The service and ambiance is very friendly and it’s easy to carry on conversation while enjoying a great meal.
Great location, great atmosphere, great menu, nice people, but it is so unfortunate that they are extremely understaffed. Waited 30 minutes just to be greeted. Hostess was bussing drinks, clearing tables in between trying to greet people. Tables were covered with dirty plates and silverware. All around. And the resteraunt was not that busy. Had no one waiting ahead of us. It is apparent it is under poor management. The hostess and the waiter were doing the best they could. After being sat, waited another 20 minutes to be asked if we wanted anything to drink. Appetizers came out before drinks. Very dissapointed in the experience.
Our server was GREAT, they were just understaffed. I think they got sat all at once and couldn’t handle the load. The server offered to buy us dessert, but we needed a venue change after being there for so long. The food was GREAT, also.
They brought out dirty silverware and a stack of plates that had food all over them. We had to send the appetizer plates back twice because they were so dirty. It took 25 mins to get our drinks and 35 mins for them to take our food order. The food and apps came out together and it took over an hour. The food was cold and none of the shrimp from the app had been cleaned which is disgusting. I would not have paid $5 for the meal I received. The resturant is in such a cool location and the staff were nice but the food and service were awful. I doubt I will ever go back which is sad because I live in the neighborhood and spend a lot of time in the area. There are other resturants nextdoor which could run circles around Cafe Mercato.
Very good food, well prepared . A bit pricey. Excellent service!
Always a lovely experience. The staff remember us our family and we always feel they are sincerely glad to see us.
Took ten minutes to get a glass of water. Didn’t take our order for drinks for 15.
Food was meh.
It was very noisy and the food was mediocre. But in the past we have had great food so I think (hope) it was just an off night. Sadly, I had taken out of town guests and told them how good it was...
I do like this place. However the service was much slower this time. The chicken parm tasted much different than last time. But I will still go back.
We enjoyed the outside seating on a beautiful calm evening. Service was topps, cuisine was special. We'll be back.
The server seemed to be there to do his job but seemed to care less. I ordered a pasta dish that according to the menu contained porcini mushrooms and sausage. The dish was overwhelmed with sausage and there was hardly a mushroom to be found. The mushroom was the lead ingredient on the menu. My wife had the chicken marsala that was supposed to come with broccolini but came with broccoli instead. I ordered a glass of chianti that was $10 on the wine list. When the bill came the wine was billed at $13. When I mentioned that to the server he said that they had changed their vineyard and he didn't see me looking at the wine list. He did speak to the manager and get that corrected. This was our first visit and the quality of the food did not compensate for the lack of truth in advertising.
For the second consecutive visit, the service was poor while the restaurant was not busy.
Professional and polite service. Appetizers wine entree and dessert were all great! Restaurant is nice but not stuffy!
We met with old friends to catch up on things and the restaurant was the best place for lunch time food service and ambiance.
Horrible service. Mediocre food. Waited nearly an hour to get our food
It was a busy night and you could tell that the staff was overtaxed. But our waiter was painfully slow on a night when we had to get to a show so only had 1.5 hours for dinner, which we though was plenty. We did eventually get our food but the waiter took another 15 minutes to bring the check after we asked for it. Granted the people around us had been waiting an even longer time... Then when we tried to give him a credit card to take back with him, he paused to roll his eyes and make an exasperated sigh. It's that last part that made us swear we'd never go back.
Cafe Mercato is a local treasure! The menu holds a great variety of wonderful options, the food is delicious, wine choices excellent, and the experience of dining warm, friendly and relaxed.
I took my high school mentee to Cafe Mercato to celebrate end of the year-just a bit late. We sat on the patio. Our server was prompt, courteous, and treated my friend very well when she had questions. She ordered the Scampi fettucine with a side of fries. (she loves fries, and these were definitely "homemade" tasting). I had the Pesto fusilli dish which was good also, however it was a bit boring. My caprese salad was fantastic! I thought the cocktails were expensive for what you got. Overall, the restaurant was good, but I thought everything was a bit overpriced for what we got. I thought service was good and the support was great also-especially when it started raining while we were outside!
Our first time at this Italian restaurant in Lowry, and we liked it a lot. I had the pear and feta cheese salad which was delicious although the portion seemed small for the $12 price. Followed it with the fried calamari, shrimp and scallops "to share" appetizer but I ate it all myself! Should have thought to ask for lemon wedges, but didn't really need as the sauce was very tasty. I would cut the calamari rings in thinner slices, and the scallops a little bigger, but liked the dish. Our son had the steak which came with a small salad on the plate and a portion of good, but very limp, French fries. My husband had a special, shrimp with an arribatta risotto which he enjoyed. We shared a scoop of each of the 3 flavors of gelato to finish and left full and happy. Nice place to eat if you're going to a play at the John Hand Theater, just a few blocks away. We began our meal at 5:30 when the restaurant was not full so the noise level was just fine.
So delicious the food was absolutely fantastic and has such a great vibe. Definitely making the list of places worth returning to again and again. Killer specials that truly feel like a special and not just getting rid of leftovers.
Always good. Took a friend out for her birthday. You won't be disappointed.
We dined with friends. The salads were all great and the ladies really liked their soup as well. The guys had lasagna and both loved it. The beer selections were not all that good but satisfactory. Service was friendly and good although we had to ask for certain items instead of them being automatically offered. Parking was not an issue at the time we went, which was early.
The waiter was nice but slooooow! Asked for tea refills multiple times. Had to ask twice for the bill, too. Otherwise the food is good. Easy to get into for lunch.
It was a little pricy for lunch. Nice to be able to have a glass of prosecco for a decent price though. The bread was really dry. The burrata was very different; personally, I prefer the version I've had other places where you get not only the inside, creamy part, but also the more firm part. Salad was delicious as were the pasta entrees we had.
I am hoping this was just a seriously off night at Cafe Mercato as we’ve had good dining experiences previously. We were there for my birthday dinner. It was a quiet night but our server couldn’t be bothered and 45 minutes after we sat down we received our first drink, salad, soup and dinner all at the same time. Kitchen was also having an off night. Our regular orders (which we do usually really like) were tasteless. Overall - very bummed with the night. Enough that I’m not sure we’ll be going back. Sad to see another restaurant start off hot and slowly sink.
Dinner for two was delightful. This little neighborhood gem was quiet even though it was busy. We could actually have s conversation together! The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Portion size was just right ! We will definitely be back!
The food was delicious. Our server provided excellent recommendations and treated our table like royalty, regardless that we had a 1 and 4 year-old in our midst. (They were perfect angels, of course.) I ordered a daily special, halibut, and it was, by far, the best dish I have had in years. We ordered a bottle of rose recommended by our server (we were between a sauvignon blanc or a rose). It was the perfect wine to pair with our variety of orders including pizza, chicken marsala, grilled salmon (for the kids) and a side of veggies. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed our meal on a partially covered patio while several rainstorms passed by. Absolutely lovely.
