Cafe Mercato is a 1st. rate Italian restaurant. I’ve been going there for years and the food is always excellent. Try an overlooked item: the tomato bisque. It’s the best ever!
I love the atmosphere the waiter and host were extremely nice and I felt comfortable which is important to us as a black couple sometimes you can feel the tension of being unwanted but everyone was so nice. Thank you.
Open Table did not inform restaurant of our reservation but sent another's listed 3 times! System error?
So inconsistent!! The seafood salad which I always get was half the size and not very good. I ordered a side of veggies that came when I was done eating. When I mentioned to the waitress she got very snippy with me, I really said it in a nice way. Had to ask another to get our waitress twice, she never checked on us. Probably won't be going back again for a long while.
Reservations were EASY (and they accommodated my leg injury!). Service (despite being happy hour) was quick and responsive. Food great as always! Always a go-to for drinks and/or dinner!
expensive for what you get
food was good
service was decent
Cafe Mercado is one of our favorites. The food is always good, the wine list has plenty of good choices by the glass, and the staff is friendly. When they ran out of one of their specials after we ordered it, they gifted us with desert.
This is my second visit to Cafe Mercato and the food is just so good! My review would have been a full five stars if it wasn’t for the service. Our waitress (did not get her name) was always was focused on something else and was only half listening. I let the waitress know that my martini was way too strong and all she said was okay? I couldn’t not drink it. It felt like I drinking straight out the bottle of rubbing alcohol. Not sure what happened with the table behind us, but the waitress was also serving their table. The couple let the managers know that their waitress was horrible, and I couldn’t have agreed more. She never came and checked on us, and was only nice when she brought the bill (when it was time for us to determine her tip). Overall, I would come back for the food, but if I get the same waitress, I will leave.
"Lauren C" did a great job for 4 of us at a "mini" family reunion Sunday. She was pleasant and efficient, and the food was good. Thank you!
The menu looks great, and the pastas we ordered were good. The side of french fries (the girl with me always likes fries with her food!) was soggy, wimpy and not fresh from the frier. All we ordered was two pasta dishes, the fries, a cocktail for me and a mocktail for her. The bill was over $90!! My papparadelle with meat sauce was very greasy and a small portion. My guest had the scampi with fettucine which was not that great. I was really disappointed to pay that much for a mediocre meal that was nothing special.
On the flip side, our server was good-very nice and handled all our requests quickly and kindly. We sat outside on their nice patio. Unfortunately, we will not be returning because the value for the money was just not there.
Delicious! This place is amazing - great food and friendly - warm service!
Wine was over-priced but food was delicious and service was great.
This is a fabulous restaurant. Interesting and very tasty menu! Love going here!!
Food is good and is value. Waiter we had is a little surly with not much sense of humor.
Calm atmosphere, excellent wait staff, and good food
Having been to Cafe Mercato on many occasions (pre COVID) we were excited for a return visit and the food. However we were very disappointed with our recent visit...
The service was horrible and the food was just as bad, except for the beet salad that we ordered and shared. The server failed to bring us bread and the olive oil/balsamic mixings, we had to ask for those. She also didn't tell us about the specials, again we had to ask for those. We did order the porcini mushroom with pork loin special, which was not worth the money we were billed. The risotto was chewy and undercooked, the pork loin was mostly gristle, to the extent we were mostly picking it out of our teeth and depositing it back onto our plates. We ended up not finishing the meal due to the quality.
Our meals were all very good (sole, chicken parm, tortellini special)! Just a little disappointed in the service: no visit back to our table to ask if we wanted additional drinks, water refills or bread basket refills)...
The food was great. I had the Tagliatelle and she had the Margherita pizza. The only thing bad was the large party they had making lots of noise and ruining the dining experience. Our waitress was nice enough to let us move to the bar area to avoid this.
Good menu with a selection of Italian specialties. Service was professional and friendly.
The service was excellent and we enjoyed the food very much. It's a bit hard to see the restaurant name from the street as it is behind a big tree.
We were pleasantly surprised and will be going back to try some of their other dishes.
Great food, great service. Love this spot and will keep coming back every time I need a pasta fix
Ambience and service were good. Food was a little rich.
Giancarlo is a Denver Gem
The food and service were exceptional as usual. Love this place and tell all about it!
Nice place with good food
Excellent experience as always at Mercato. Excellent food, service! What else is there??
My husband ate every bite of the seafood salad and practically licked the plate! My gluten free fettuccine Alfredo was yummy with 3 HUGE prawns. Yum!
We’ve been twice and both times we had a excellent experience
Lovely atmosphere, good food, excellent drinks (limoncello martini) and service.
This place was awesome, we loved the food, the service was a little slow, but overall it was great, and we will be back
Consistently excellent quality, thoughtfully prepared.
Love the food, always good every time we go. Would highly recommend!
The service was poor, the pizza we ordered was undercooked that being said the atmosphere was nice
Impeccable experience as always! Thank you!!!!
Calamari appetizer was a bit spongy. Should have been cooked more. Salad, pear and something, the greens were not very crisp.
Lasagna was not nearly as good as I remembered. Disappointed overall..
4 people. Most are satisfied with food. Food could have been warmer.
Gay couple here. The waitress did not pay us any attention and skipped our table many times. The owner had to complete our orders etc. would not recommend overall for any out of the box couples.
good food, service, atmosphere, location. always good
