Cafe Magnolia Ratings and Reviews
Magnolia's is great for lunch and dinner! Monday is an excellent opportunity if you like a quieter restaurant experience. The dinners are delicious with as much attention to your side dishes as the main course (try the risotto!). Plenty of parking and friendly staff make for an all-around enjoyable evening.
Cafe Magnolia has amazing food and the wait staff is very kind. It would be a great place for a casual lunch or dinner. However, don't think you can fit the experience in during a quick trip or lunch break. It is definitely a place to go when you aren't worried about time. Also, not the place for a very private conversation as most of the tables are close together.
PS: You have to try the Blackened Chicken Mac & Cheese....It is worth the trip!
This is the third time we dined there with the same friends. First time was inside and then twice on the deck. We prefer the deck as there is not much atmosphere inside. The food is very good and the portions are more than enough. The deck was very quiet both times we ate there...just a couple other tables were occupied. Our waitress (I think her name is Theresa...she has colorful tattoos that are actually children's drawings on her right arm) was great: Attentive and pleasant. We will return, probably next summer for outdoor dining. It is a BYOB which we prefer.
Very nice place! We enjoyed the food and the service. Great place to meet friends or just to get a great meal. We haven't found anything on the menu that we don't like. If you want a salad, I love the Jess Salad with Coconut Shrimp. It also can be ordered with chicken.
Drive 90 minutes to eat here. The chef does an outstanding job of food preparation. The duck is outstanding. The only reason I marked a 4 for food was this time I had the lobster risotto. The lobster meat was claw meat well prepared, soft and sweet. The dish had 3 pork additions: applewood bacon, prosciutto, and pancetta. The disappointment was the pork was not crisp at all which I would have preferred and the risotto was overlooked and the cheese added dried it out. But would I go back. Absolutely!!! The portions are huge. Excellent fish preparations. Calamari perfectly fried and not chewy. The Greek salad side is very good, only missing anchovies. It's a BYOB place and we discovered we like that. We bring our own wine. They have the setup, no cork fees, and we enjoy the wines we drink at home. It's a converted old home. Very comfortable. Service with a smile! Who wouldn't return???
Cute place. Kinda small parking lot if the place would get busy. we went at lunch so it was quieter and opted to sit outside. Service good. We had bruchetta, lots of whole tomatoes. Then I had pineapple pomegranate fizz which was refreshing. My chicken Greek wrap was definitely dry though. My husband loved his cheese steak sub, good portion.
Great first dinner experience at Cafe Magnolia. It is BYOB so we love that option! We went on a Tuesday night and the front dining room from full and lively. We got an appetizer and 2 entrees. There was a mishap with our entrees so it did take a bit longer however the staff could not have handled it better. They ended up giving us our appetizer for free! That was greatly appreciated, but not necessary. The food was good, good variety on the menu. Seems like they have a lot of regulars and new customers which is always good to see. Overall, I will definitely by returning!
Our waitress was delightful and took good care of us. We had the Mozzarella Alla Caprese appetizer and it was delicious. I particularly loved the pesto sauce that was drizzled over the mozzarella and tomato. The mozzarella was so fresh and tasty- I asked our waitress if it was from Caputo Bros but she didn't know. The 3 of us ordered the same main dish, Steak Florentine, and it was so very delicious. I demolished mine but it was enough for my friends to take some of theirs home. We love Café Magnolia and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good quality meal in a nice atmosphere.
The Pittsburgh steak salad was outstanding...one of the best I ever had with very tender beef tenderloin done medium rare to my liking.
My Husband ordered the shrimp tsatsiki, which was unusual, because he was in the mood for shrimp and it was just ok...the asparagus was overcooked.
We enjoy going to this restaurant which is near our home because it really does have a good menu with very good service.
Food was mediocre. Rolls were stale. Not their normal rolls, which are really good. Service was slow. Waited too long at the end for attention from waitress. Ravioli was way overcooked and barely had anything inside. I won't go back anytime soon. Friends said the same thing. Unimpressed.
Have had the Key West Scallops here several times. Always yummy. Generous portion of 8 large sea scallops, risotto and asparagus. My husband had veal marsala which was good but not special. We like that it's BYOB & that they provided a chiller for our white wine.
It was fine - everyone had a great time. I will not check all of the items above. Very busy and don't need to elaborate more than I have already. We had a great meal, food great, service great - we have been there many times so obviously we like it or we would not be back time after time. I do not want my review published. My gosh, it was a nice night out.
Service was horrible! Our waitress disappeared for literally 45 minutes. When we asked another waitress if she could please get our waitress for us, she snapped at us about how busy they were. I didn't like the limited menu either. I have been here many times and normally the service is good and the full menu is offered. I brought first timers with me this time and I was embarrassed that I did so because of the issues I mentioned.
I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience on Mother's Day. The food, service and ambiance were terrific. The host graciously accomodated a last minute seating adjustment for my reservation of a party of 4 to a party of 6. I will definitely refer this restaurant to others.
We went out for Mother's Day. Our waitress was having "one of those days" as she put it. She couldn't remember what anybody ordered and she spilled my food on my sister-in-law. My steak was not "charbroiled" as described. It was gray when it came to the table and tasted more like it had just been broiled. The calamari had a weird taste (not bad), just didn't taste like it was fried in good oil. We were also asked as we were finishing our dinner if we had been given a time restraint. That was the most un-classy thing that I have ever had anyone say to me at a restaurant. I could see it if we had been sitting there taking up space after finishing our meals, but we were barely finished. On the up side, you definitely get a portion that is comparable to the price.
good food and plenty. a little pricey but woth the trip. wait staff was nice and attentive enough without being overbearing. there waa water on the floor for which i slipped, the staff saw it happen and no one did anything. 10 minutes later another customer came in and slipped in the same spot. they could have done betterat clean up or at least a caution sign! the building was older and the ambience/decor had something to be desired. the restrooms were old and dated and could have been updated enough to accommodate more than one guest at a time. i will go again; the food was worth it.
Our meal was really good. We both had the Steak and Crab Cake with mushroom risotto, and spinach. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Give yourself at least over an hour and a half for dinner. Server was pleasant and did her best but she was very busy so it took a long time for everything. Love that you can BYOB. The price is about what we expected. Overall, we had a great night, and would recommend going to dinner here if you get a chance.
