Cafe Magnolia Ratings and Reviews
BYOB and no charge for bottle opening like some other restaurants charge. This was a girls night out and we were easily able to have a conversation instead of being drowned out by restaurant music, etc. We were not rushed to clear out which was greatly appreciated. Food was delicious. Highly recommend and will surely return.
I've dined at Cafe Magnolia a number of times and the food has always been good. This time not so much. Six friends met there this past Saturday for dinner. Of the six, four people ordered the Mediterranean Chicken. First issue was cold risotto. As a replacement, the server brought something from the kitchen that looked more like cream of wheat. Next, some folks had uncooked chicken among the pieces. Those who complained about the chicken were comped half of the cost.
I'm sure some of the folks won't return. I may, but not for some time.
Wow! The food was exceptional, and we want to return to try several more items on the menu. We started with the bruschetta, which was a delicious new take on the traditional dish. My husband enjoyed the veal marsala, and I enjoyed the bistro tender dish. The food was amazing, the service was great, and the prices were outstanding for the quality and quantity of food. We’ll make a point to return next time we’re in the area.
We were seated in a sunroom that was incredibly cold. It was about 20 degrees outside and the temperature on the thermostat kept dropping. I requested another table but they said that the other tables were taken. I complained again as it kept getting colder and no one apologized, they just shrugged their shoulders and agreed it was very cold. I should not have been able to make a reservation unless there was adequate seating available.
The restaurant was busy and very noisy. We we're seated in a very tight corner. The room was extremely hot. I asked our waitress to turn the thermostat down and I believe she did.
The food was average. Service was good. Not sure if I would return or recommend.
We love Cafe Magnolia and do takeout frequently. The actual restaurant is small, I'd recommend reservations if you want to eat there for dinner. We've never had a bad meal here and we've been going here for years! BYOB which is a bonus too. Some favorites are: Greek chicken wrap, Southwest chicken wrap, soups, and the Jess Salad with chicken (instead of shrimp).
Magnolia's is great for lunch and dinner! Monday is an excellent opportunity if you like a quieter restaurant experience. The dinners are delicious with as much attention to your side dishes as the main course (try the risotto!). Plenty of parking and friendly staff make for an all-around enjoyable evening.
Cafe Magnolia has amazing food and the wait staff is very kind. It would be a great place for a casual lunch or dinner. However, don't think you can fit the experience in during a quick trip or lunch break. It is definitely a place to go when you aren't worried about time. Also, not the place for a very private conversation as most of the tables are close together.
PS: You have to try the Blackened Chicken Mac & Cheese....It is worth the trip!
This is the third time we dined there with the same friends. First time was inside and then twice on the deck. We prefer the deck as there is not much atmosphere inside. The food is very good and the portions are more than enough. The deck was very quiet both times we ate there...just a couple other tables were occupied. Our waitress (I think her name is Theresa...she has colorful tattoos that are actually children's drawings on her right arm) was great: Attentive and pleasant. We will return, probably next summer for outdoor dining. It is a BYOB which we prefer.
