Food was fine. Wait was ~45 minutes long despite having a reservation on Open Table. This was on Valentine’s Day, which made the wait even more unacceptable. The restaurant clearly overbooked, and I felt taken advantage of as a customer.

Valentine's Day dinner. Thank goodness we had a gift certificate! This is a pricey place. It seems very popular given how packed it was the night we were there. My wife and I had a reservation for about a month. When seated, the table was so small and the legs of the table so obtrusive that I had to sit open-legged to allow the table legs between mine. It was very uncomfortable and the waitress didn't seem to notice, but I didn't complain either. They may not have been sufficiently staffed that night, but long periods lapsed between times when our waitress would check on us. The food was not commensurate with the price, although it was a one-price special for Valentines. The "Lobster" bisque really had no perceptible lobster in it. My noodle dish had noodles that seemed little more than spaghetti off the grocery shelf. The balance of pasta vs. primary meats or vegetables was woefully imbalanced.

What a lovely restaurant. My husband and I celebrated romantic evening on Valentine's Day and decided that Cafe Madrid was the perfect spot. They did offer a Valentine's menu that included appetizers, salad, entree and dessert all for $55. The special menu was really just their most popular dishes that is on their regular dinner menu.

First to come out was the bread which are warm brioche buns. Next appetizers, the cheese platter, Gambas con Bacon (shrimp wrapped in bacon) & sauteed mushrooms in cream sauce. While I like the cheese platter, it seemed really small there was maybe 3 small triangles of Brie and Manchego Cheese, 6 grapes, small amount of quince paste & bread. On the regular menu this appetizer is $13, while tasty it really isn't a good value so I would skip it on a next visit. On the other hand we loved the Gambas con Bacon included 6 plump shrimp (tail end cut off) wrapped in bacon covered in a cream sauce and the Sauteed Mushrooms (oyster or chanterelle mushrooms) in the same cream sauce as the shrimp. The last two tapas were generous & filling enough that they could have stood on their own as a meal or a shared plate.

For the Entree, I had the beef tenderloin w/roquefort cheese sauce & my husband had pork w/raspberry sauce. Beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked & the roquefort sauce made this dish so good and satisfying The hubby's pork also was perfectly cooked & w/the raspberry sauce added just a nice sweet finish (this dish is not on the regular menu).

Last but not least DESSERT! Cafe Madrid knows how to make dessert. Their Chocolate Mouse was divine. This was the real chocolate mousse made with real cream & high end chocolate not that cheezy, cheap stuff made with cool whip and hersheys cocoa powder you find in other restaurants.

Overall the experience was excellent, our waiter was very attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. I definately would recommend this place and want to try it for lunch.

Amazingly romantic with the most amazing tapas on the planet! By far our favorite restaurant! Consistently phenomenal food EVERY time!! Try the sausage with fig sauce paired with the gambas con bacon. Also the piquillo peppers paired with the mixed seafood paella (call ahead to make sure they make some for you, or save some for you). Then have the beef tenderloin & choose the rice option when they ask you for your side. Then for dessert order the copa Café Madrid. You won’t go wrong keeping with these EXACT combinations of tapas! Everything is amazing, but this is my exact staple, perfect order every time. I venture from this from time to time and add a new tapa onto my order, but I always make sure every one of these tapas are my priority. Foodies: this is soon to be your favorite restaurant!

I could go on and on about this, but I'll try and be succinct. The service was good, the ambiance was interesting, but the food was seriously lacking. It was about the quality I would expect at Applebees, (maybe less...) only 65$ a plate.
My lobster bisque was ok, the house salad was simple, but enjoyable, my Pollo marsala was strangely sweet and far to white! It was two chicken fillets with mashed potatoes in a white sauce with a couple small mushroom pieces. It became overpoweringly strong halfway through the plate and begged for something to breakup the monotony of it.
But my dessert is what ruined the night for me. Creme brulee cake. The creme brulee on the top was ok, but I seriously doubt it was thickened with eggs (as it should be). It was a little thin and comparatively bland. But the clincher was the "cake" it was like styrofoam! Dry and hard and bland. I can't say enough! I did not finish it. And for me to not finish a dessert, is really saying something.
I wouldn't have been so frustrated if it had been a third the price, but for the price we paid, I expected much, much more.

We have traveled extensively world over including various parts of Spain dozens of times while living in Switzerland for 3 years..... food is authentic, ambiance is relaxing and genuine..... beautiful paintings .... we enjoyed the look and feel very much..... seated on time, wait staff was attentive and unobtrusive. Wine list is great for selections to pair with the food. Paella was authentic and available as Tapas as well.... we enjoyed Duck (best I have had in the US) and Salmon after the Paella and roasted Brussel sprout tapas..... highly recommend and will be back again soon.

I have been in Cafe Madrid several times .last weekend experience was terrible..the quality of the food way Dow .while the prices are up ..it was my wife s birthday celebration..I was so disappointed..never again 😜

We always love our dinners at Cafe Madrid. The sangria, the Plato iberico, the fried goat cheese and honey....yum. We had a great dinner despite our paella taking too long and the rice being crunchy. However after we left I started getting calls that we had no-showed on our reservation. This was very disappointing because we had dined in the restaurant that night. I have the receipts to prove it.

Wonderful Holiday ambience. Beautiful furnishings and table settings. Very romantic. Food offerings were creative, served with flair, and delicious!! Do order the paella as a tapas plate or a dinner.

Really disappointed. We arrived prior to reservation time and waited for about 5 minutes before there was even anyone at the front desk (there were about 10 other people waiting as well). When the hostess finally arrived, and she checked in everyone in the room (more waiting), then we waited for at least another 5 minutes to be seated. When we were finally seated, we discovered that she had given us the wrong menus.
The food was sub par. The Brussels Sprouts were amazing, but that’s it. We ordered salad based on the server’s recommendation. The salad was meh, the beef tenderloin was not a $30 plate, in fact I’ve had much better for much less, and the paella was just not good. Period. If you say you’re a Spanish fine dining establishment, you’d better be sure you have good paella. Cafe Madrid will not be seeing us again. Again, really disappointing. We were looking forward to a really great meal for a holiday date. Instead, we spent a lot of money for really mediocre food when we could have gone somewhere where we knew we could have counted on the value as well as the service and ambience expected. So sad.
Not sure where the good reviews came from, I’ve spoken to several people since who also say they will never go again.

This is a must try restaurant in my opinion. The food is exceptional, the service is always great and the atmosphere is nice and unique. We will be back again and again. I am not a fan of lamb but the lamb shank roast is excellent.

The chicken soup was fantastic. The service was terrible. After bringing the food, the server never returned except to ask about dessert and then later, to bring the check. She never returned for payment so I had to go find the cashier to pay. The noise level was far too high for lunch--turn down the music volume!

We have been to Cafe Madrid twice before and The experience was very Memorable. We really miss the old location which had incredible ambience. Current location not so. Initially ordered two glasses of wine and when the waiter told me that my nine dollar glass wine was not available but he could substitute it with something similar in taste but also double in price which he didn’t tell me till I asked. The salad was good very fresh but was certainly not enough for two as the waiter had implied. My entrée was salmon wrapped in phyllo dough and my husband got the duck breast. Both were tasty the presentation was not nice and the serving size was small. After years of not visiting this place and having very fond memories, we will not go back again

Not sure why we (party of 2) were seated in the back room when host knew there was a very large (and loud) party seated well before we were done. We could hardly hear ourselves talk. We asked to be moved to another location, and were nicely accommodated. Was still a disruption to our evening. Better seating plan could have avoided this.

Great food. Wonderful friendly staff. I’d recommend it for every occasion. I drive all the way from park city where there are some great restaurants, to dine at Cafe Madrid. I love it.
