Delicious fresh food, good service, noise level not too loud so it allows patrons to hear the conversations of everyone at the table. Good ambience and clean surroundings.
5 Wows. Beautiful decor. Know you have to order paella in advance--a hassle but worth it. Lovely romantic decor, excellent food, attentive service. Really a unique SLC night out.
Birthday celebration! Everything was perfect!
Always a joy! A must for anyone wanting an exceptional experience and fantastic food
My husband and I went to Café Madrid prior to attending an event. This was our first visit to Café Madrid Linda our server was great, wonderful personality, knowledgeable and very mindful with our order since we were on a schedule. We were there for some Tapas; we enjoyed Pulpo a la Gallega , Gambas con Bacon and Gambas en Cama which were our favorite. We also enjoyed their Sangria which was delicious. The atmosphere is very comfortable and inviting. We look forward to our next visit to Café Madrid and to try their Paella.
Excellent service and still a nice place to eat. Ordered the steak medium rare and came medium well and was very tough. Date had the shrimp and scallops which was a better choice. The food quality has declined a bit.
Food was fabulous - and the service was exceptional. Linda was a fantastic server. Our first time. We will definitely go back.
Haven't been in a long time. Food was good but some changes since before. Portions are much larger. Five adults and one child and we ordered 8 tapas and 1 soup and that's way too much. Remembers portions being much smaller before. Everything still very favorful and tasty so all good.
My first time to dine in the restaurant. It is beautiful and service was good. I had lunch chicken pesto sandwich and side salad. Sandwich was ok except chicken was a little dry and there was no pesto on it. Mediterranean salad was delicious but cheese croutons were a little greasy and tasted like they had been fried in old oil.
All that said, I loved the restaurant and look forward to going back for dinner.
While not the most romantic restaurant ..... the food was more than adequate and Ebony’s service was exceptional.
Great locale for a double date out with some friends!
It was such wonderful experience to have New Years Eve dinner at Cafe Madrid. Ambiance, service and food were absolutely phenomenal and exquisite. Certainly we will come back to Cafe Madrid.... thus time to try the Paella😁🎉⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
For whatever reason our reservation didn’t show up in their system but thankfully it was quiet so they let us in and we were able to enjoy our paella, delicious! We’ll definitely be returning!
As always, this restaurant meets our every expectation. It’s always a delight to dine here. Expect to pay, but it’s worth it.
Great food, festive atmosphere, easy to make reservations.
Love love Cafe Madrid! I go there so much I should have a frequent diner card. Love the welcoming decor and food is fabulous as well as the staff! So many wonderful memories have happened there!
Ebony was such a delight, was helpful and out going. She helped make our night out extra special. Had a wonderful meal. Excellent food and service.
Authentic Spanish food. Great ambience, great service on a busy Sat evening. Beautiful property. Great table reserved for us!, thanks Open Table!
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful brunch here; it provided a perfect locale to catch up with each other! It is a beautiful location, and the food & service was on point! Thank you again!
Linda the waiter, was absolutely amazing. Great treatment and good recommendations.
Everyone was so friendly. I was introduced by name to my waitress, by the hostess.
The food was delicious and above my expectations.
My waitress, Elizabeth, was extra attentive and delightfully satisfied all of my requests.
Other staff were friendly and gracious. I appreciated Thomas' graciousness and conversation.
I have already recommended Cafe Madrid (and the dishes I ordered) to friends and family (in fact, to some that very evening).
I plan to return as often as I am able.
They are always great. I love going there for dinner because I know I’ll get great service
It was my wife’s birthday. We had been once before and this is what she wanted for her birthday dinner. The food was fantastic and atmosphere was perfect!
The staff was fantastic and helpful. Food and wine were amazing. Great place!
Great food. Great ambience. We ordered all tapas. Nice wine selection too
Fantastic find. Loved everything. Menu choices outstanding.
The tapas were excellent. We will definitely be returning.
We had a lovely birthday there with family. Food was great, servers were attentive and helpful, atmosphere is festive....overall wonderful evening out.
The meatballs and bacon-wrapped date tapas were very good. Side salad was a bit lacking in flavor, but still decent. I ordered the scallops and shrimp dish - scallops were delicious! Music was a bit loud at times and made conversing hard. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
This place never disappoints. The food is not cheap but the quality and flavors are so superior, it is worth every penny you spend. The sangria is very good. I do recommend making reservations!
High quality food and great service. The food here is expensive but great for a special occasion or date night
The best tapas in Utah! Well worth the hour long drive and will definitely return.
Delicious food with Tapas being offered in the evening, crafted sandwiches for lunch. Each dish is a wonderful blend of unique flavors. Their Beef sandwich is amazing as is the chicken soup and for desert the flan is my favorite. The interior of the restaurant is beautifully decorated with art, antiques and unique collection of eclectic Spanish items. Very comfortable and cozy. Reservations are recommended. Not for very small children because of the quiet ambiance and all the decorations. One of my favorite places in Salt Lake.
The food was acceptable. The services was abysmal. See below.
For appetizers we had the Albondigas (meatballs) and the Setas (mushrooms in cream and bacon) The meatballs were a little dense, and the sauce a tad too sweet. The Oyster mushrooms were a bit woody and chewy. Could have been trimmed better. The cheese sauce was tasty but the bacon overpowered both the mushrooms and the sauce.
My wife had the duck breast which was ok. The duck meat was properly cooked (medium rare) but they did not cook the skin side sufficiently so the skin was rubbery rather than crispy and to make matters worse the poured the orange sauce over the duck eliminating any crispness the skin might have had. It was, however, very tasty. If you order this I would recommend sauce on the side to keep the duck skin as crispy as possible.
I had the beef tenderloin with the Roquefort cream sauce. This was excellent. My only complaint with this dish was that the vegetables were over cooked. And on a point of curiosity...why would this Spanish restaurant do a dish using a French cheese (Roquefort) when they could have done the same with one of the many terrific Spanish blue cheeses (Cabrales comes to mind)
The Service. In a word it was terrible. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation time. There was no one at the front of house to greet arriving guests. Despite arriving 20 minutes early were were seated about 10 minutes later.
It took our server 15 minutes to bring a bottle of water and despite us telling her we were ready to order she disappeared for another 10. After we finished our appetizers she comes to the table and asks "is that it?" We told her, "No, we would like to order dinner." She then proceeded to ignore us completely until our food arrived after which she spent all of her time with her larger tables leaving us to ask for our check from the other server. It takes a lot for me to leave a bad tip. I did so last night.
The food was great wine was better. The service seemed a little slow although it is a popular spot. The host was nice and the place was really trying to be up scale.
We always love to go to Café Madrid and this time was no exception. Never disappoints!!
Absolutely delicious food. The staff was attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and how it is prepared. Can’t wait to go back.
An absolute gem of a restaurant! The building is a warm delight, with beautiful art work and pieces to make it very atmospheric. If the rooms don't charm you the waitstaff will. They are genuinely pleased to see you, they seat you in a good manner (depending on how busy they are - reservations are a good idea) and make sure that you get drinks to start with. If the weather is permitting, I always choose to sit outside, as the patio is absolutely luscious. All of the staff sees to your needs and it is so wonderful. Their tempo is on point, checking in, but not to often. Whitney and Genevieve are probably our favorites, since they have such great personalities, tell us how it is when it comes to the menu and truly take such great care of us every time! The menu is exquisite, nothing is left amiss and you have several choices of mouth tempting dishes. Current favorites are Coles de Bruselas, Caprese Salad, Pollo Marsala and Créme Brulee Cake! From tapas to dessert, it is so worth trying everything. I can't wait to go back ... in fact ... I'm going to make reservations now !
Horrible food. Paella had no bottom crust and flavor wasn’t good
