Cafe Madison Ratings and Reviews
Great service. Very good crab cakes $34.00. I ordered the crab/lobster bisque which would have been delicious if it had been hot. It was lukewarm. Hubby enjoyed a caprise salad of heirloom tomatoes & mozzarella, dressed with a balsamic drizzle. His entree was a special, a 16oz rib steak -bone in $34.00. The live music was a piano player who kept playing the same tunes over & over again. We did not have room for dessert. Next time, maybe.
Another fabulous dinner during restaurant week fall harvest . Great entrees and spectacular appetizers and dessert. Highly recommend Cafe Madison for any occasion. Our waiter Leo was great and a real asset to the restaurant. He really guided us to the Wine list choices and made the occasion extra special. Cafe Madison never disappoints.
My husband & I have dined at Cafe Madison a number of times. We have NEVER been disappointed. It was Restaurant Week and also my Husband's birthday. So, we decided Cafe Madison was the best choice. I cannot say enough about the food. It was excellent. The service was attentive without being overbearing. Please try our favorite spot. You will not be disappointed.
Our waitress did not get things right. I was brought a salad with dressing on it when I asked it to be on the side. The waitress brought soup that I did not order and she argued with me and said she wrote it down. My husband ordered potatoes with his dinner and the waitress said, why do you want to order potatoes when your dish comes with potatoes. So he said no then. The dinner came without potatoes. When my husband said that she said the dish came with potatoes she argued and said, "I did not I said carrots." She said I can bring you an order of potatoes if you want. She brought out potatoes. She new I was allergic to dairy and gluten. I asked her if the flourless cake had dairy and she said no. I got sick when I got home so I know that made me sick. It will be a long time before I dine at Cafe Madison again.
It was our friend's 91st birthday. Service was very good, but the meal was just ok. No free desert for the birthday girl which we thought was odd, portions were good and ample. Had the sirloin personally. i thought it was okay, but not the amazing flavors that i would've expected. In an area awash with great dining alternatives, has to be better than fair if you want the business. it was just flat. Nothing particularly bad, but nothing particularly great.
really like this restaurant, the atmosphere, staff, music etc. We have been there numerious times, the only problem we have is that they are consistantly slow with bringing our food to our table. I even ordered a ala a carte salad before main course & had to ask after 15 min wait, must add, we were the only table occupied at that time. the main course came about 15 mins after that. also, there were only 2 other tables occupied when we left. I only hoped that it would improve over time but it hasn't. Needless to say, I love the piano bar, will continue to dine at Madison, hoping they can iron out the problem in the very near future.
We ate from the Seasonal Prix Fix menu. There are only about 6 choices from it plus the crab cakes which are a $15.00 up charge. Top sirloin was my choice, medium rare and tough. Husband had pork chop, better but dry. Dessert is no longer included. I guess we were OK with that, I never really cared for the desserts. Getting less for more money or the same is a trend, with rising costs, its the only way to stay in business.
