this has become a favorite of mine for a relaxing dinner or brunch with friends because the people are lovely, accommodating and excellent food.
Food good but felt a bit rushed. Management and waiter hovered in an "are you getting up" manner, not in a "can I get you something" manner. We were there less than 1 1/2 hours. Arrived at 5 PM and had a 7 PM curtain.
Great for a pre opera dinner( in our case) or post opera (also have been done before).
The wait staff was very attentive to our time limitations, and made the experience enjoyable.
Great service with excellent food - as expected. Nice to see my go-to favorites, the French onion soup and the steak tartare have maintained their quality over the years.
Brought family in from out of town and from the moment we walked in it was a warm, welcoming experience with well executed comfort food standards and a great wine list. Can't wait to come back.
This restaurant is a lovely restaurant delicious food a little pricey but worth it !! I recommend brunch
Lively vibe in the neighborhood establishment. Food is consistently very good and ambience is friendly, like a Local French bistro.
The food was very good. Also the service was good and the people were very friendly.
Had a wonderful dinner with great service
Two nights running: excellent food, very good service. Nearly full (not quite) at 6 pm.
This restaurant has always had fine food, but it used to have old-fashioned French food. The food continues to be excellent, but is now more modern and somewhat lighter. They accommodated our need to get to a performance on time without apparent effort. I will be back.
As usual cafe Luxemburg lived up to our expectations. An always a delightful visit with great service, delicious food and wonderful ambiance.
Our favorite go-to in the neighborhood - for any occasion.
Besides the tasteful space & ambiance, very tasty drinks, food and desserts, the staff is amazing and what makes every evening so enjoyable; it's one of the most professionally-run places in town. They never disappoint.
OLD WARHORSE STILL DELIVERING VERY GOOD FRENCH STANDARDS. A BIT NOISY AND SLIGHTLY CRAMPED.
Consistently good. I have been coming here since 1988. It went through a dodgy patch a few years ago but is back on form
The most accommodating of all restaurants.
Requests are always honored. The most delicious food and incredible staff.
A true neighborhood jem
a beautiful ambience and great service. we picked things from the late night bistro menu as it was too late for a large meal. wish there were more lighter options on the menu but we will be back after Lincoln Center events again for sure
The Boeuf bourguignon and the salmon were delicious as well as the hot fudge sundae.
Valentines lunch with 4 women. Lovely, festive, gracious, fun.
Been to this restaurant several times but over many years and it has never disappointed. We arrived early so we began by sitting at the bar and having an order of fries and beverages. Not a glamorous appetizer but they looked good and they were. Getting a seat at the bar can take a few minutes (with or without dinner reservations). We were seated promptly at our reservation time. I had the strip steak, husband had the beef bourguignon ($40:$32). Both were very good. I mean really good. What I LOVE about this restaurant is the consistency of great food and service. So rare and so appreciated.
Dined Tuesday night before going to the Beacon. Not from NYC, so it was neat for us to eat in a place that seemed to be popular with locals. Good service, very attentive without being overbearing and my wife and I really enjoyed the food from apps to dessert. We will go again!
It’s so nice to come here, just around the corner, for a lovely lunch or dinner. The food is always delicious, but the service excellent!!! Whitney our waitress was exceptional.
Cafe Luxembourg is always a hit with newcomers and old timers! The menu is consistent when you need it to be and interesting and innovative when you want it to be!
Great as usual. Excellant food and service. The French Onion soup is the best.
I chose this for a birthday dinner for my wife. Impeccable friendly service. Delicious food, we chose the Pre-fixe with appetizer and entree’s. Brussel Sprout salad and chicken liver mousse were divine and entrees creative salmon with beet purée I could eat again and again, flavor and texture with the fried chickpeas were a knockout. Dessert did not disappoint with a special that night of German chocolate cake. Thank you for making this evening special! We’ll be back for sure and next time with friends.
Incredible brunch!! Smoked salmon benedict, french toast, fresh juice, it's all amazing!!
Food and service very good. Menu a bit limited. A bit on the pricey side but then this is NYC. With 2 cocktails, 2 glasses of wine, dinner, 1 desert and 20% tip plan on @$175 for two
Everything was fine until the bill came. We dined prior to a concert at the NY Philharmonic. Promptly seated and served. My husband and I both ordered steak frites and a very nice bottle of red wine. We were asked if we wanted a sauce with our steak and were given a choice of 3 so we each picked one. When the bill came, we saw that we were charged an extra $2 each for a THIMBLE of side sauce. When we inquired of our server, we were told, "oh, didn't you see that there was an extra charge for the sauce?" Outrageous. Ketchup would have been just fine. Will be a long time before we go back.
Always consistently good. Service is excellent and a rare find today even with many more expensive restaurants. A well trained and professional staff!
