An old favorite, and maintained its quality and atmosphere over the years.
I love Cafe Luxembourg but was somewhat disappointed when the $14 meal I order during breakfast hours had increased to $21 for brunch hours. The breakfast bowl is already pricey at $14, yikes!
Great for brunch, the atmosphere is vibrant (although noisy) and the food is very good.
Wonderful restaurant, fun, Lively scene, great food and our terrific waiter made our night even better!
Fantastic and friendly service. Best prix fixe deal on NYC ... we went before opera only $40 for 2 courses. Cuisine and préparation worth much more than that. Friendly gregarious atmosphere will definitely be back.
tried and true restaurant, good food and service , close to LIncoln Center
Cafe Luxembourg is one of my mother-in-law's favorite spots to visit for brunch when she's in town, and so we went and for the first time we had an infant to take. The staff was very accommodating for our party space-wise (high chair), and all of us enjoyed brunch in the sunny, crowded cafe. My mother was feeling stuffed and healthy after her avocado toast, and my husband cleaned his plate of pancakes. I might wish for a different sort of bread for the BLT I had, but the whole table would recommend the fries. I recommend bringing baby in a carrier, not a stroller, if that's an option.
Great porterhouse steak. Generous portion and delicious with the potato salad on top.
The salad with lardons was good but too small.
I love this place!
Cafe Luxembourg has been my go to for birthday lunches. The food and service are consistently good!
Always a pleasure. Excellent well prepared food at a well established fabulous, but not too fancy, French restaurant.
Love the Cafe Lux- we've been going here for years. Same great food and wine. It's like a little bit of Paris on the UWS. Best moules et frites in NYC!
French feeling with very good food (fantastic ricotta pancakes), low-key, relaxed atmosphere and excellent service.
Friends. Love the place. It’s our default spot.
Great place. Love having short, informal meetings here.
First time here for brunch . Was not disappointed!
Classic New York restaurant for a Sunday Brunch. It was a cold Sunday, the streets were empty and it appeared when we opened the door, everybody was inside Cafe Luxembourg! Fortunately, I had made a reservation. The hostess/host were friendly and pleasant despite the demands of customers. They sat us at a perfect table and with a perfect waiter. The food was
terrific. And, again, classic New York brunch atmosphere. Highly recommend. Thank you for a very special brunch.
Great find in the neighborhood and proximal to Merkin theater.
We are frequent diners here because the food always is excellent as is the service.
Food was well prepared with high quality ingredients. The mussels and French onion soup were well seasoned and the best I have had in NYC! Location is reasonably close to Lincoln Center and the staff was considerate in terms of timing so that we were not rushed as we had a concert following dinner.
We go quite a bit for brunch on the weekends. The staff is great and the food is excellent.
Awesome! Always a treat- I think i’ve Now perched in every cozy spot with a variety of servers. Thank you, Cafe Lux for a lovely time.
As always Cafe Luxembourg was great one of our favorite places in the city
The Luxembourg was good enough to accommodate me for a late night meal. The food, wine, and service were very good, and I felt welcomed and well taken care of.
I’ve been eating at Cafe Luxembourg since it opened so many years ago. It always has great staff and a classic menu that never gets boring.
I love being able to go late and have a plate of steak tartar with a salad and fries. It’s always crowded and buzzing.
It also makes me feel like an old timer for having been going for 30 years!
This used to be our place. We'd happily spend $250 for four here for friends to get together. No longer. It's rushed, crowded, unwelcoming and not worth it.
I get the impression that the management doesn't care
because they're busy.
We've never had a bad experience at Cafe Luxembourg. The staff, food, and ambiance are all perfection.
Very nice ambience and charming server Michelle who took very good care of us.
Enjoy this restaurant for its excellent food and service.
We go here often when we are in NYC, and it's always good.
Good food but nothing out of the ordinary.
Good service and friendly staff overall.
Ambiance is just ok, a bit crowded and tight tables.
Fairly noisy restaurant, so definitely not for a quiet conversation.
Wonderful place! Lively and comfortable neighborhood gem. Always made to feel welcome. Great bar: perfect perch if you are dining solo. Food’s nice, too. Already looking forward to returning.
Café Luxembourg is a reliablely wonderful restaurant. The food & service are always first rate, & the ambiance is both cozy & really quite glamorous. The only other restaurant I know of that has such an interesting mix of people is Harry Bar’s in Venice, but Café Luxembourg is a whole lot closer & about one tenth the price. Among its other great virtues, Café Luxembourg is a great bargain. It’s easily the best restaurant in the neighborhood, without even a close rival for quality of food, service, price & atmosphere. Highly recommended.
Extremely pleasant & helpful staff. Welcoming, lively atmosphere. The steak frites was EXCELLENT.
was disappointed in the food, particularly the roast chicken..the restaurant obviously has a large following and gets fine reviews but we thought it overrated..
My favorite neighborhood restaurant. Classic NYC ambience; the best of French fare. Chicken Paillard is my favorite lunch ever. Moules Frites are as good as you’ll get in Paris. My husband even loves the burger! It’s always a bit noisy, but nothing that gets in the way of everyday conversation.
For lunch or dinner, love this place & have since we found it in 2005. It is, however, a bit pricey.
As always, we had a wonderful experience at Cafe Luxembourg - all our expectations were met.
a reliably delicious and enjoyable experience. Lovely service and excellent menu.
We love coming here after a night at Lincoln Center. It hasn't changed after all these decades and that's a complement.
I've been going to this place for years. This last visit was for an Anniversary and they accommodated us with the best table in the place, a champagne opener, and amazing food and service.
