Love this place!!!
The morning brunch was excellent. The food choices were fabulous. The service was courteous, attentive and professional. My water glass never was dry. They paid attention to the details. All staff were friendly and willing to deliver excellent service.
wonderful crowd, great staff, beautiful presentation, food very good; if we lived in NYC, would be a frequent neighborhood place to go, but fir visits to New York or business trips, would probably be less frequent... not expensive for value and taste. On everyone’s list for a place to recommit
No surprise this place is crowded. Everyone is nice and the food is great. Perfect neighborhood bistro.
We ate early and the noise level was fine, easy to have a conversation. As we were getting ready to leave it became much louder. The food and service were wonderful.
The food was delicious, the service was gracious and charming, and the wines (glass and bottle selections) were excellent. A great experience as always!
No surprises--always excellent. Dining Room in a microcosm of New York City and the bar scene is a voyeurs dream.
We felt like we were constantly being rushed to complete our dinner and leave the table......it was to the point of being annoying. If we let them I think they would have had us out of the restaurant in 30 minutes. Note we had cocktails, a 2 course dinner with a bottle of wine and were out the door in about 1 hour......not very enjoyable.
Always great food and service. We’ve been going for years.
Saturday we were going to a 1:00 PM matinee at the Metropolitan Opera and knew that we would get a good brunch with plenty of time to get to Lincoln Center after eating at the Cafe Luxembourg. Service was extremely good and attentive, and we did not feel rushed. My son and I had omelettes, and my husband had a burger. All of us were pleased with the quality and preparation of our lunches.
This is my favorite place to go with my boyfriend. Yet another wonderful meal with great service.
There are few places in NYC that offer a French Bistro-experience to the extent that Cafe Luxembourg provides such an experience. From the ambiance, to the wine and food, I cannot recommend CL enough if you're in the mood for fine, yet not overly-pretentious French cuisine. I had the Steak Frittes, my wife had the Halibut, and we split the octopus and onion soup (my wife thought it was too tart) before the meal. Everything was top-notch and the desserts (for her bday) were an added bonus, for which I would return to CL if in the mood. The service was just as good as the food. Can't wait to go back!
Feels like a high end diner
Had dinner with friends before a show at The Beacon Theater and the whole experience, per usual, was great. Looking forward to the next time.
always good! consistent and delicious. recommend it!
Tried and true restaurant that still brings out upper west siders in droves. The food is very good as is the service. They are very conscious about getting patrons out in time for performances so a good place to go pre-Lincoln Center
Delicious food, lovely ambiance and the waitstaff made every effort!
Nothing is more reliable on the west side than a Cafe Luxembourg. Expert professional staff. A great Larson salad, with lardons. A great omelette, and my friend had the fish & chips. My tuna burger was medium rare with great fries .
First time visit for a business dinner, had to make several advanced changes to headcount, and restaurant proved very flexible. On site, we were seated right away, and Eric our server was attentive throughout our time there. The food was superb - both the starters and main courses were very well prepared. Will definitely return when I have the opportunity
Our server was polite and friendly and it’s a perfect neighborhood restaurant. Great salads and steak. Tuna tartar was over salty and the duck was so tough it was impossible to cut. Didn’t eat it but they nicely took it off of the bill.
Will return but stick to the basics. The onion soup is always a treat
Always great! They accommodated a larger group than anticipated - like pros.
Fabulous food and service!! A wonderful dining experience.
Phenomenal service. Good for dinner before performance at Lincoln Center. There is a two-course prix fixe option; whether it's worth it (compared to a la carte) depends on your particular choices. Onion soup, mussels and halibut were good. Special heirloom tomato appetizer was good but not more tasty than many regular tomatoes. Pear sorbet was excellent. Restaurant was full but very well run and no problem making show without feeling rushed.
We have been going for over 25 years and believe it to be great all of the time with great food and service. A wonderful place!!
One of our regular spots. Just around the corner from our apartment. Always a nice spot to relax and enjoy the great food and service.
Great job by welcoming Staff / Host Sylar who knew our other four guest were running a little late but we all sat by 6:15 for our 6:00PM reservation. Perfect venue before heading to Beacon Theatre for a concert, Steak Frits; beer / wine / all good! The lady bartender was very sweet and made my wife and I two very good cocktails each!! Thank you.
Date night with my husband and they had everything we love - fresh and well-chilled oysters, beautiful steak tartare which was not over-dressed, and a Bordeaux we both enjoyed. He has the burger and I had the scallops and it was all delicious. The service was attentive, friendly but not intrusive. Would recommend.
Always just simply the best !! ❤️❤️❤️
Great Staff - caring and knowledgeable
Amazing Food - classic and exciting
Wonderful Ambiance - never changing
Excellent service, very good comfort food, major celebrity sighting.
Best Croque Monsieur I have had in a while. My dining companion raved about the tuna. Delightful service. Altogether a lovely lunch in an iconic upper west side bistro.
Food great but ambience and service not so great
Service was fantastic! We were having a business conversation and the server was efficient, courteous and unobtrusive. There was no rush but anything we asked for was give promptly. Food delicious as always
The country salad was not good . The bacon and poached egg were cold so the salad was disappointing .
I'm not sure what happened but the fries are horrible! Tuna burger that's made medium was so dry. Lobster roll has more mayonnaise than lobster. Service was not friendly either. What's going on Cafe Luxembourg?
As always perfect service
our favorite restaurant by far. impeccable service. Our server was even having a new person ghost her and it was seamless and wonderful as always. a true testament to your great management skills.
Another great brunch at Cafe Luxemberg! Delicious fresh eggs. The chocolate gateaux is to die for. Very polite hostesses and waiters and food make for the most enjoyable meal!
I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and love it—the food, service and atmosphere are always wonderful. My only complaint is about the hostesses, who were haughty and brusque despite my friendliness. They also kept my friend and me waiting because they failed to grasp the fact that we were together, though we’d arrived separately.
