Located on 70th Street just west of Broadway, Café Luxembourg entertains New Yorkers and celebrities alike. The full service bar is home to many regulars. The lively buzz of the dining room is inviting and intimate. The frequency of dining customers is testament to the sincere efforts by the entire Café Luxembourg staff.
The menu changes seasonally as well as offering daily specials. The classic menu dishes maintain a level of cooking on par with the city’s best restaurants. Café Luxembourg offers beautifully prepared food with professional, yet unpretentious service at reasonable prices.
Great staff, food , everything. Will be back! Love our waitress - adorable blonde girl who told us to order oysters :)
Always reliable and always comfortable. It's been just the same for at least 3 decades and counting.
I grew up in this neighborhood and coming to this restaurant. It is still amazing!!! Great night, great food, great staff! Wont wait so long to come back this time!
Cafe Lux never disappoints. It is our goto spot when we want great food at a good price served efficiently with a smile.
My husband and I dined at Cafe Luxembourg after seeing a Broadway play matinee. It was an early dinner and we were one of the first diners to arrive. We had about a ten minute wait for evening service to begin. This is a favorite neighborhood spot of ours. The food is consistently good and this time was no exception. I had halibut and my husband ordered steak. They were both very good. The wine list is mostly French. It is not a large list but there is a nice selection. The service is prompt and reliable. All in all, it was a lovely dining experience.
Thanks for letting us overstay our welcome
À côtés peut-être un peu chers. Sinon, c’est un classique qui demeure excellent.
A birthday dinner at Cafe Luxembourg was outstanding! Our wait staff led by Erick were impeccable!
Cafe Luxembourg is one of my favorite places in NYC. The service and food are always great. I've never had a bad meal or a bad time there. I would 100% recommend this to a friend.
A friend recommended and it is a find. How nice to have a place that doesn't seem "touristy" that is so close to Lincoln Center. The food and the service were good! I found this place utterly charming and will go back.
Very cheery ambience! Food is what one would expect: well prepared stock Gallic fare. We make it a regular stop.
Cafe Luxembourg is a solid neighborhood dependable great place to eat, but it’s become a bit pricey
We just moved our daughter into the neighborhood and you were highly recommended so we tried it. I see why it was fabulous my son came home saying he wished he was back there eating your steak and frittas. When visiting her we will def be back.
An old stand by!! Consistently good - and one of my favorites.
I say the same thing every time I leave: How do they keep it this good for this long? Always great. Always. Any occasion for celebrating or just having a special evening, this is the joint. It never fails. Long may you wave.
Love Cafe Luxembourg! Food, ambiance, service all good. We choose it a lot because you can depend on consistency. It’s a West Side treasure!
Benn there multiple times and always enjoy it. The food is always excellent as is the service. I particularly like the art deco style and the European flavor.
Incredibly loud, obnoxious neighbor encouraged by waitstaff
Always a favorite! The food is always great...always a good place to meet friends...good for pre-concerts etc. Never disappoints!
Long, arduous searches for an overall good to best breakfast in NYC (weekday) ends with a booking here. The banana nut bread, the organic yoghurt with berries and granola and the avocado toast are sure, delicious bets. Great latte with skimmed milk. Almond milk is a available. The prices are high. The value is fair. Enjoyable experience. I recommend it.
As always, Cafe Luxembourg shone! Our favorite NYC restaurant. Staff was attentive and accommodating for my arm in a sling. A shout out to Leslie, our server. Jean & Charlie, Visiting from Maine
Always a good choice.
The service was outstanding
The staff was very attentive and capable. A delightful feeling from staff. The food was tasty but not plentiful. I do visit Cafe Luxembourg several times a year as it is reliable and pleasant. A good vibe.
Always our go to neighborhood place. Warmly greeted and we love the menu.
A classic, always delicious! So consistent and fun!
I have been going to Café Lux twice a year for the past ten years - my friend and I alternate treating each other for a birthday breakfast. It remains THE classic Upper West Side bistro, unchanged in decades. I had scrambled eggs and sausages, my friend had his favorite baked eggs. The food is always excellent, the service impeccable, and I for one would be devastated if this place ever closed.
LOVE my favorite restaurant!! The food is delicious, service impeccable, location convenient. Love the old NY feel.
One of NYC's longest lasting and still great classic French bistros. Great food, great atmosphere, and the service is always outstanding.
If only the portions were a bit more generous!
Great old West Side standby, especially for a good meal before Lincoln Center. Perfect brasserie ambiance.
Always Consistent and wonderful! Love this classic bistro so much!
This is a New York special place and has been for a long, long time. The onion soup, the frisée salad, the tuna burger, the naked ladies, the chocolate squares are still fabulous. The place is magic, the wait staff, actually all the workers, are at that perfectly balanced place between following a hospitality script and has anyone seen the waiter. But, as the decades have passed, the portions have shrunk. And shrunk. So what was an expensive but worth it meal is now skimpy. And the lovely French bread has been replaced by rubbery mini rolls. But the drinks are still yummy and generous. And the busmen make your heart smile.
Our family's birthday and celebration destination for over two decades. We keep coming back because of the service and the food. Tables are a little close together and sometimes the noise of other conversations is a bit much, but we love this place.
The restaurant never changes. It's always top-notch in every way.
As always, food was beautifully prepared and delicious, and service was friendly and professional.
Food is tasty and wait staff are attentive. The kitchen frequently is slow.
We've been to the Cafe Luxembourg several times. This time it was after MY FAIR LADY at Lincoln Center. This is a lovely, cozy restaurant. My husband and I came with friends whom we hadn't seen for awhile so it was a get together. Food was delicious -- my husband and I shared raw oysters as an appetizer. My husband had the salmon, our friends had halibut and fish and chips and I had the scallops. Everything was wonderful. The wine was excellent and we ordered desserts & coffee, espresso. I had the lemon tart (lovely), our friends had the sundae and creme brulee. Besides the good food & excellent wine, the restaurant was welcoming and we didn't feel rushed. We had a wonderful time with our friends.
Café Luxembourg is by far the BEST restaurant on the UWS!! The food is amazing, the staff couldn't be more accommodating, and I must give an extra shout-out to the incredible manager, Kieran...he always goes above and beyond to make sure the entire Café Lux experience is no less than perfect....Thank you yet again Kieran for making yesterday's brunch so special....you're simply the BEST there is!!
For late night dining, after symphony or opera, it never disappoints.
Lived on the Upper West Side for 20 years...been going to Luxembourg that long.
Never really had a disappointing meal...consistently good food, some time servers are SO "in to it"...forever fluffing around you...some may like that...I'm not a fan.
