Located on 70th Street just west of Broadway, Café Luxembourg entertains New Yorkers and celebrities alike. The full service bar is home to many regulars. The lively buzz of the dining room is inviting and intimate. The frequency of dining customers is testament to the sincere efforts by the entire Café Luxembourg staff.
The menu changes seasonally as well as offering daily specials. The classic menu dishes maintain a level of cooking on par with the city’s best restaurants. Café Luxembourg offers beautifully prepared food with professional, yet unpretentious service at reasonable prices.
I do not understand the hype and published ratings for this restaurant. It was crowded, noisy, and very expensive. The duck that I ordered ($37) had obviously been cooked before and barely heated up before serving to me. the portions were quite small. I was quite disappointed.
CafLux de 70ieme est toujours parfait. This is one of my favorite restaurants in town - I got my favorite small banquette and was able to entertain my two daughters-in-law in the manner to which they are accustomed. Parfait!
It was a pleasant experience all round!
Tre hamburger meat is not the best quality.
Food is delicious and the service is attentive. Close to Lincoln Center.
I love Cafe Luxembourg, except between 12:30 and 2:00. It's so crowded (popular!) at that time, that getting up to go to the Ladies Room feels like a WAR Effort.
I met an old friend from the west coast who I hadn’t seem in 10 years. The wait staff was so pleasant. We talked for 1/2 hour before ordering. We apologized and they were quick to assure us that is was fine. Thefood was excellent
We went for a late (for us but not NYers) snack. We had a reservation and friends wanted to join us at the last minute. They were very gracious and accommodating. I had a glass of Sancerre, a small portion of tuna tartare (which was complex and elegant). A small scoop of house-made hazelnut ice cream and a glass of vin santo for dessert. Perfect.
a favorite of ours but food is not consistent ( on Sat my fish was partially raw) and its noisy and I dont understand how the fire department allows the tables to be so close ..certainly cant have a private conversation
Awesome ambience, food was fantastic, no complaints we will be back soon
Great place for dinner on a Friday night. Unfortunately the cock au vin was terrible (overdone) as if it had been sitting in the pot all day. I would try the place again though.
We celebrated my daughter‘s 30th birthday there. We were a party of six. Service, as always, excellent. Food delicious. Had the bouillabaisse. Great choice for our evening. This is a classic New York bistro that everyone must experience.
The hostess found the perfect table for me that would protect my booted, injured foot from getting hit. I really appreciate her concern and care. We always find the servers courteous at Cafe Lux.
Love everything about this neighborhood bistro. The "Country Salad" is the best breakfast, lunch, or dinner ever.
Always a pleasure to return to this French Cafe! Food and ambiance all makes it feel a bit of Paris has landed in NYC.
What a wonderful oasis of calm, peace, and delicious food on the UWS! I met two long time friends there for lunch and we could actually have a conversation. How nice to have ambiance that was not trendy and filled with cold hard surfaces. The food was delicious and all three of us loved our lunches. The service was a little spotty but I think that was due to language issues
Cafe Luxembourg is still very good after all these years. It is a very modern take on a French Bistro. It is in my opinion the best restaurant in the Lincoln Center area.
My favorite restaurant on the planet. The staff are incredibly thoughtful--AND unobtrusive.
Have been going to Lux for many years, but this time was quite disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. I can accept prices go up, but quality should not suffer... I really hope it was a one time thing.
Nice little place with a touch of elegance; ambiance and service were fine. While the food is good, the portions are small, which was disappointing given that it is such an expensive restaurant. I was hungry when I left.
Love the restaurant and always have. Great food, great ambience. A bit loud.
Like many other restaurants, prices have outstripped the value. Just no reason a lobster roll needs to be $35, among other excessive prices.
But have been a longtime fan.
Not worth the big price tag. Food just ok and nothing special but the name and reputation (?). Service very good. Terrible cup of coffee.
It couldn’t have been better-the service and food were both perfect!
Cafe Luxembourg is my favorite brunch location in NYC. The friendliest front of house and stellar wait staff. Feel like I've been transported to Europe every time I eat there.
We had to wait for 30 minutes past our reservation time until we were seated. It was a mess. Food was a mixed back - some good, but some of it was served cold when it was not supposed to be. This place has definitely gone downhill. And a reservation is essentially useless since they don’t honor the times at all.
The best vibe, the best service, the nicest staff. Always a great experience.
Bustling bistro with yummy though limited menu for brunch if your inclined to skip traditional breakfast offering. Outstanding, attentive service. Good for pre-theater but be certain to make reservations.
Luxembourg was wonderful. It was a meeting with my daughter and granddaughter. The hostess
even obliged our request for a picture which turned out to be a good one. We were talking for a
long time and no-one ever suggested we were taking up seats and should be going. Our waiter
was very patient with us and we all appreciate the great lunch we had.
Perfect place to go before the opera! They were wonderful.
It's been around for decades for very good reasons. Delicious, terrific service, what's not to love?
A very nice place to have lunch on one's way to the nearby Apple store. We had the BLT and the steak tartare. A very good meal.
Truly never disappoints. A treasure. One of my favorite restaurants in NYC.
Always LOVE being at Cafe Luxembourg!!! Not matter what meal, it is such an enjoyable experience.
It was very special, lovely waiter, lovely greeting at the
door, black fish cooked to perfection , oysters,
fabulous dessert that we all shared.
Had a very good time, we always do!
Love this restaurant all times of day!
Always, always, a lovely experience from beginning to end.
Food, service , ambience, all incredible, as usual.
Great for pre-theater, light dinner. The tuna burger is perfect. The fries are crispy and hot. The noise level was not extreme, and the waitstaff were engaging and helpful.
The ambiance and food are outstanding. Not over top but real and authentic New York and French vibes. It immediately feels like home and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Would definitely make this my to-go-to spot for brunch in UWS.
