Wonderful and reliable. Food is tasty and service is always warm and friendly. A neighborhood gem that never misses.
Love this place. Morning, noon or night!
Great French Bistro that meets all good marks!
Cafe Lux is our fav neighborhood spot for special occasions. Reliably great for both your picky in-law or your fav friend, it’s consistently delish with impeccable service. It’s not the largest space so the tables can feel a little snug but an overall fav if we don’t feel like travelling downtown
As always our meal at Cafe Luxembourg was top notch. Our server was new to us, we had never been served by him before.
We found him earnest and hard working, but not as attentive as other servers we've had, but pleasant enough.
Breakfast on a Sunday morning- great to be asked how you want your omelette cooked- and have it come out exactly as requested. Lemon ricotta pancakes were light and delicious. Service was excellent.
Hasn’t changed one bit in 30 years
Cozy place to go before Lincoln Center.
Love this place
Great service and a well run restaurant. A bit pricey for a limited and same old menu, but it is reliable.
Always dependable for great evening with friends. Fun ambiance, good bistro food and complimentary wines.
Always delicious. They make a perfect martini! The food never disappoints and the service is great.
Great service and excellent food
Bright and cheery and consistent
Not many places like it in the neighborhood
NEVER fails to impress first timers and NEVER lets me down. For years Cafe Lux has been a fave and my most recent visit was first time back in over a year. It's simply solid on all counts that matter to me: quality of food, service, environment and value. HOME RUN
Café Lux never disappoints.
Fabulous as always!
We’ve liked cafe lux since it opened. Used to go often. After they took calves liver off the menu, less often.
The waiter was charming and the service was terrific. The wine, the food —- brisket and fish were divine! We love Cafe Luxembourg.
While the food is excellent, the wine list approachable and the ambiance attractive, the indifferent behavior of one employee, who appeared to be the senior manager or host, spoiled the evening. This gentleman was intent on speaking at length with patron seated next to us. Unfortunately, the space was tight and he kept bumping into me - including my arm as I was taking a sip from my wine glass. When he asked if he was bothering me, I answered yes and that he had been repeatedly bumping into me. No apologies, no acknowledgment. And when the patron suggested that "...this is a bistro, what do you expect?", he laughed. I would have to expect that if this happened once with this manager, it has happened before and will continue. Crowded, energetic bistros need not be places of rude behavior.
Always good food.
Restaurant looked a little tired & worn on the inside but food and service were both A+ for Saturday brunch.
Great brunch place. Makes you feel like you’re at a cafe in Europe
Always great. Love the burgers and Harry’s hot fudge sundae is the best.
Cafe Luxembourg went above and beyond to ensure my dinner party was comfortable. For that, I’m am forever indebted to their generosity.
We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Café Luxembourg because it is one of our old favorites that never disappoints. We shared the Faroe Island salmon and the steak frites, topped off with a hot fudge sundae. They put a candle in the sundae and wrote “Happy Anniversary” on the plate in chocolate, which was a nice festive touch. Everything was delicious and the service was great. We enjoyed a very nice evening and look forward to coming back many times in the next 25 years.
At the end of our dinner, an elderly gentleman elsewhere in the restaurant became unwell, and had to be taken out on a stretcher. I must commend the restaurant and the EMS team on how smoothly they handled the situation with minimal disruption to the other diners, and complete grace and respect towards the gentleman. You can tell that Café Luxembourg is run by total professionals, not just in the kitchen, but throughout the restaurant and at all levels.
We love this restaurant! The food is always exquisite. My husband and I celebrated our 4 year anniversary the other night at Cafe Luxembourg. We had Moules Frites and the Surf and Turf Special, with tenderloin and halibut. We had the artichoke and asparagus appetizer with nettles pistou. Everything was beyond delicious. The service was lovely as well.
Our only complaint is the noise level, which was much too noisy for a romantic meal. We prefer a quiet meal where you can hear the one another easily, with beautiful music.
Ryan is a spectacular bar tender. The vibe is “neighborhood “. The tuna burger is stellar. Stay away, I want a seat whenever I feel like going.😁
Absolutely wonderful experience-- every time we have gone to Cafe Luxemberg! The food is wonderful! The service is impeccable, and the ambiance comfortable yet sophisticated, good for a mid week meal, or a special occasion. My wife and I love coming there!
Extremely consistent, can be counted on for tasty, well-prepared food, especially convenient for pre-Lincoln Center dining.
People were great. Food was very disappointing. Not worth the high price.
This place has been here for decades, and unlike most, it is still here! I have been coming back for many years and it is always friendly, always jumping, always delicious, time and time again.
Good food good service
We had a wonderful lunch.. The tuna burger was excellent, as were the octopus and profiteroles. Looking forward to returning soon!
The usual —excellent food and service — friendly and not rushed.
We go for the great and simply prepared grilled chicken. This time it was very dry and the the skin was partially seared back. The accompanying salad overdressed. Strange choice for an accompaniment instead of a vegetable.
We were 4 and two of the entrees were served a good few minutes behind the others with no sign of apology or concern from the otherwise very pleasant server. This was a Sunday evening and woke busy it was not packed.
Oh well... we'll come back but may wait awhile
The food lacked taste. The octopus tasted sandy and lacking flavor. The creme brulee was absent vanilla flavor. Overall, very disappointing.
Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, deliciois fiod, and friendly, efficient personnel.
Cafe Luxembourg is just a short walk from Lincoln Center so ideal for matinees. My family has been dining there for over twenty years. Simple food when prepared carefully can still be a treat for example their croc Monsieur. The service is efficient and helpful. Overall an enjoyable meal at a reasonable price
Delicious dinner of burger, lobster rolls, frites and adult beverages. Great ambiance and attentive server. More glamorous items on the menu, but we were in the mood for small bites and comfort food.
