Cafe Lurcat - Minneapolis Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I were coming from NW Suburbs looking for somewhere new. We are self proclaimed foodies that follow a paleo lifestyle and Café Lurcat was exactly the menu we were looking for. From the Oyseters to the AMAZING Sea Bass all the way to our dessert. We received top notch service with top notch meals. We will be back again with friends!
Wonderful experience. We were in a side room which was very quiet, peaceful, and had a good view. Outstanding service and delicious over the top comfort food-pot roast with lots of puréed potatoes and gravy. Birthday guests were eat given tiny donuts to die for and share with the table. Couldn’t have been better! Highly recommend.
Great service. Neat building and restaurant space. Beef tenderloin was excellent. Scallops were good. Carrot side was good. Crab cake was good. Mini donuts were better than the fair, less grease. Drinks were decent. We will go back. Downside was that if you go see a show or event downtown you really have to drive here. Parking was easy around the corner at the $6 lot though.
Disappointing. Over the last 10 years I have eaten at Lurcat I have been satisfied.
This last meal was not. The sea bass still tasted good, but for $40 it is no longer a good value.
The Sauvignon Blanc was decent, but not At $55. It was also not chilled and need to be put on ice delaying the enjoyment. The rest of the dishes we OK.
Two of my guest ordered a salad and apertiser. The bill for 3 with tip was over $200.
Cafe Lurcat is a beautiful restaurant. Very comfortable with a view of Loring Park.
This was a Monday night and the restaurant was not busy so why the service was slow?
I do not plan on returning until I hear things have improved.
I made a dinner reservation for four to celebrate my husband's birthday. The hostess sat us in the bar and told me that because I made the reservation online and didn't specify that we wanted to be seated in the cafe/restaurant, they could seat us anywhere there was an open table. There were no tables available in the cafe, only the bar. My husband and I were both disappointed.
Good food and even better service!!! We were there to celebrate our 14th anniversary. After we finished our dinner, we left but forgot our camera bag for about a week!?!?! Amazingly, someone found it and left it with the Manager until we remembered what happened to it!? We would to thank the staff, managers, cooks, and great customers who found our missing camera that had all off anniversary pictures. Date Night at Cafe Lurcat never disappoints!! Thank you Cafe Lurcat for being awesome!
Hadn't been to Cafe Lurcat in a long time--so good to be back. Great service. Loved sitting by the windows, watching the weather. Started with the apple, cheese, chives salad which was delicious--great combination. Hangar steak was outstanding as were the scallops. Also had cauliflower which we really enjoyed. Delightful dining experience-we won't wait so long to go back!
I love Lurcat - a mainstay in Minneapolis. The ambiance is unparalleled, the food and drinks awesome, and service on point. I will say that two dishes we ordered were definitely too heavily salted: the Hangar Steak and the Scallop dish. We did give the feedback to the manager circling tables, and she mentioned she would share with the chef.
In addition, we shared with the server that there were some specific dietary restrictions, and he didn't seem as accommodating or concerned as we would have hoped, leaving us to navigate menu choices more than I would have liked. Then, after previously sharing no sugar in my diet, he still pressured me on dessert until I reminded him of that.
Other than this, the service was great, glasses always filled and checking in just enough. Price-wise I would say it is expensive for what you get, but it's Lurcat.
The fries are amazing. We ordered them as an app for four of us and they were dangerously good. They are definitely on the more fried size but you never have to worry about a soggy fry. Yes, my whole review is about fries.
We have been to Cafe Lurcat on at least 4 previous occasions and each dining experience was better and better. Unfortunately, however, last Saturday's experience was as bad as the others were good. The server was inattentive and disinterested. Worse yet, management's attempt at rectifying the problem only made the situation worse. While I will give it another shot, I was very disappointed with the entire experience.
As others have stated, a perfectly marvelous experience. This restaurant probably does or should rank in the Twin Cities’ top 10. Great ambience (a bit on the noisy side), perfect and attentive service. Hangar Steak amdSalmon we’re both top notch. A surprising star: roasted and broiled cauliflower basted with clarified butter. Don’t miss it. Prices: high but you get full value in the overall experience.
the interior was absolutely beautiful-lots of exposed brick and very romantic setting. We were there to try the restaurant week menu, and I fully understand how busy restaurant week can be and don't have high expectations going in. However, this experience was the worst restaurant week experience we've had. :( hopefully that's not the normal because the building is beautiful!!
Always great. It’s our go-to restaurant can’t go wrong always great food. The happy hour is amazing- been going for years never participated in Happy Hour so worth the drive !!! Love Lurcat.
Ask for a Stacy champagne— it’s champagne w a splash of Cointreau (sugar rim optional). And champagne is on the Happy Hour menu!! Score!!
Got the tasting menu for Restaurant Week. Apparently they have the same deal every sunday night for 50$ for 2 people which is 20 dollars better then the restaurant week deal. The Hangar Steak was unbelievably tender and delicious. The Pavlova desert was amazing gave me the taste memory of the best jelly donut I've ever had.
My girlfriend and I loved the atmosphere in this establishment. We both ordered off the restaurant menu which did not disappoint. The steak tartar was mouth watering and just melted in your taste buds. The hanger steak was cooked rare as requested and the sauce was definitely the winner of the dish. The pork did not disappoint either but the winner was the hanger steak.
