Always a great place to eat.
One of our favorite restaurants in the Cities! We love their date night special on Sundays. It's been a couple years since we've made it to the Cities but it was certainly one that we wanted to visit while there.
It's been a while since we've done Cafe Lurcat's Sunday night date night. It was as good as usual. I had the pork chop and it was done to perfection. The only negatives were comments that the flat iron plate was very sparse on asparagus. Other than that minor issue, the evening was most enjoyable. On top of the value of date night, CL also runs half price wine (bottles under $100), and we had a very enjoyable Pine Ridge Cab.
Celebrating my friend Stanley as he makes a move to PA to start a new job and a new life out East!
Excellent selection of food options and everything we ordered was delicious! Great drinks and great speedy service. Atmosphere was wonderful - very different from other Minneapolis fine dining. Felt really special. We will be back!
Wonderful food and John, our server, was great!
Came over the weekend with reservations. Seated in an odd spot made for a couple by an exit door so you will be cold if it’s winter. Several other tables very close to windows appeared to have the same problem as ladies were putting their coats back on during the meal. Crab cake had very little crab and could not recommend. Filet ordered had to be sent back was it was prepared med and not rare.
Saving grace was the service and they took off the filet charge. Drinks were also very good. Would try again but not real soon.
This was our first trip to Minneapolis. We picked Café Lurcat because it was close to the Walker Arts Center and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and so was the service.
Food is always fabulous! Complimentary valet would be a nice addition.
This was a fantastic experience altogether. I would love to dine again if I am in Minneapolis soon. I think the service, food and ambiance was top notch! Must try this place in downtown and you will leave with great memories.
Excellent service, very accommodating, willing to adjust to personal tastes. Inventive menu, unique wine list,. Braised lamb and hanger steak with smoked oyster buerre blanc sauce were fabulous
Not a cheap date:-)) but a wonderful place for food, service and a lovely setting.....
A consistently great experience. Bar and wait staff very inviting and responsive.
Service was very good. Food, as always, very good! Ambiance always good! Our only complaint is the added charge for employees insurance. 100% of diners I have spoken with about this charge all say they deduct that amount from their gratuity! Raise the price of your menu rather than highlighting this charge! It makes you look like you are too cheap to take care of your employees!
The service was exceptional. The food was very good.
We had one person in our party allergic to mushrooms, another allergic to capsaicin. The chef offered to make a special meal if necessary. Really proactive and customer-centric. And, all of the meals were fantastic
Perfect all six of us loved it
By far one of the best restaurants in Minneapolis.
Great service and wonderful food. This was my first meal at Cafe Lurcat. A bit pricey for me, but I knew what to expect when making my reservation. It was definitely worth it.
Mind-blowing service from not only 1 waitress, but a TEAM! Food that cannot be found near as exquisite in the area we came from. Our visit was worth every penny! The staff was personable, patient and knowledgeable about the menu items, and the atmosphere was calming and welcoming. Definitely recommending to others that travel in this area and a place we WILL return to visit!!
Wonderful service. LOVED the lobster galette.
Lovely setting by basilica with large windows and inviting decor. Joined old friends for a fantastic meal of heirloom tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and Devine French bread!; unique apple salad; not to miss miso sea bass, unbelievable scallops, and a fine steak dish. Service was attentive and professional. When hot dishes were ready an entire crew of waitstaff presented our meals so they all arrived together. Impressive! Will book again next time we are in town:)
Wonderful happy hour specials, perfect evening with friends. Lurcat never disappoints!
First off the blonde, middle aged lady at the front reception was beyond rude. We should’ve walked out then knowing the negativity.
Our server was wonderful, kind and prompt. Christina is a gem in a place that not everyone else has her professionalism.
Food, the octopus was over cooked, I’ve had it multiple times across the US at restaurants and I was quite disappointed.
Overall if it wasn’t for Christina it would be receiving 1 Star.
Never disappointed at Cafe Lurcat...the sea bass is the best in town!!!
It was an excellent experience we got at this restaurant. The food was perfect; I have had Sea Bass at other restaurants, but none is remotely close to the one we had at Cafe Lurcat. It was perfectly moist, tender and flavorful. Food wise, this is like the best restaurant I’ve been to in recent time. It was very quiet, you don’t have to talk over peoples voices. Keep up the good work. The service itself was impeccable.
Great, great service, love the restaurant! Food was very good, but a couple things were so-so. The menu for restaurant week had lots of options. The steak tartare was ok, but pretty bland to my taste. Hangar steak was excellent, but the pork tenderloin (chop) was just average. All desserts we wonderful!
Everyone was amazing from the bartender to the staff clearing tables
Michael was a very attentive server and as always, the meal and the service didn’t disappoint! Thank you for another lovely evening at your restaurant-one of our favorites!
Who knew! Korean Barbeque Salmon. Absolutely amazing! Everything was on point. This was our first time taking in the entire experience. [All of our other visits were in the bar --which is also wonderful.] Love this place.
Lovely dinner had a great time with friends thank you
Cocktails were great. Service at our table was great. Crab cake was tuna salad-like and heavy-handed with the frying. Tartare was not finely chopped. Hangar steak was under seasoned and cold when I got it. Pork chop was excellent. Dessert was fine. After dinner drink at the bar - bartender was snippy. Coffee tasted like it was from the gas station. For $200, we won’t be back. Beautiful bar - maybe just go for a drink.
We have never had a mediocre meal or bad service experience, this place is always Minnesota “above average.” We went this time for the sampling menu for restaurant week. I’m gluten free and they accommodated all courses for me without flinching.
We were seated but it took about five minutes to have a server come talk to us. I also asked what was the highlights on the menu and I got you’ve been here before it’s the standard food.
Not as impressed as I’ve been in the past
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! Definitely will come back!!!
As always, the meal and service were superb. The BBQ salmon was cooked to perfection - I would love to have the BBQ sauce recipe.
We had a great experience! The waitress was great she explained everything and suggested great paring for us to share dishes. It’s such a charming and romantic place! The food tastes great and the presentation was 10/10. Will most definitely be back!
Had a phenomenal anniversary dinner
