I'm sorry to have to say that Cafe Lurcat has gone way down hill since re-opening after COVID. The Sliders that I used to love were no longer juicy (although swill flavorful), but hard. The steak tar-tar was over powered with onion. I had a glass of wine recommended by the bartender and when we got the bill is was $25 for ONE glass! I love the ambiance at Lurcat, but the food is no longer memorable.
Very nice atmosphere and excellent food for a special occassion.
Great food, as always
I was really impressed by the service and the options. It was a great date night for my wife and I. Enjoyed it tremendously.
Service was great. Food was spectacular. Price was huge. The extra 23% nearly drove our bill up 50%. !! Yikes.
The menu was lovely and the food was incredible, once it arrived. We missed our engagement because we were in the restaurant twice as long as we imagined. Our meals were put on the wrong cards, but we didn't see our server to correct it. The 22% charge is absolutely acceptable, but it seemed a bit extravagant to ask for an additional gratuity. The Honey Cake was to die for, literally!
Lovely venue with a unique variety of menu options. The miso cod and pork chop were excellent, as were the oysters and french fries.
A wonderful meal, especially the apple salad, which was exquisite.
Our waiter,Noah was great! Gave us great suggestions on drinks and food selections. The food was awesome!
Service very slow. Food above average, not great. Mandatory 22% gratuity. Bread $8, came with entrees? Not the Lurcat I remember from the past.
Wonderful menu full of diverse and tantalizing flavors, matched with an unusually thorough and expansive wine list. Sophistication in a highly comfortable space.
Favorite spot for special occasions , food consistently delicious
I really liked the decor and ambiance of the place. I prepped prior by looking at the menu online and was looking forward to a glass of Sangiovese but the menu for the wine list changed. But that didn’t matter much if the food was good! And that’s where they shined. The flavors for the two plates I had were there. Kudos to the kitchen. And kudos to the service team as well.
Food was absolutely wonderful!!!!!
Melt in your mouth cod, bread to die for, salads that had so much great flavor with just the simplest ingredients! Really great!
Salmon was somewhat undercooked and duck confit was served luke warm, otherwise good meal. Great service
Always reliable quality of food and service. Expansive wine list - you are bound to find something you like. Great for a special occasion.
tried the new recipe with duck. was excellent! loved the sweet /sour type cabbage base. friends had salmon and chicken which they raved about! love to come again
If you're looking for a European dining experience in the US, this is it.
Excellent food, an outdoor French cafe elegant vibe, that unfortunately comes with the 22% Service add-on (similar to EU or UK built in VAT or service fees) and a somewhat lackluster approach to service.
Our server rushed us along, interrupting my business colleagues and I three times in the span of 10 minutes to get our entrée orders (despite the restaurant being half full, with no expectation of a table turn). When I asked if there was a rush to order I was warned some dishes take considerable time to cook and that we should expect a length delay between courses if we didn't order quickly. I appreciate thoughtful course timing, but at some point-let folks be!
The assumed 22% service fee, with a clear note that this should be in addition to gratuity for the server, felt assumptive and-in our case-ill deserved.
Loved the food and the ambiance, but can't say I'll be back anytime soon.
Best burgers in town. Bar area is inviting yet upscale, excellent place for a business dinner, date night or friends night on the town.
Nice ambience and very tasty food. Would recommend for a special occasion.
I made the reservation for the wrong day but they found a table for us in just a few minutes. It’s always an amazing place and I was very grateful that they could fit us in. The food and service were fantastic as always.
As usual it’s a wonderful venue to get together with friends. Great food and staff.
The server was not quite knowledgeable about the menu. He did not clear the table before dropping the check. After picking up the signed check, he went to the corner, which was obvious to both of us, and opened the check book to see the tips. Is this how a supposedly high-end restaurant looks like? This is my second time here and I am not impressed.
Great food and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for a romantic date night spot.
Great dinner. We love Lurcat. A gem in Minneapolis
Another great experience at Cafe Lurcat! From the location, to the food, and the service - you can’t beat this restaurant. We started with the bread tray, and order the Pork Chops and Beef Tenderloin. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine from Alexander Valley, CA. We finished off dinner with the decedent Spiced Dolce de Leche Semifreddo. We had an amazing time and can’t wait to come back!
Server was outstanding. We've been to Cafe Lurcat multiple times but this was our first time in the section where the kitchen is. Great fun.
Great food , slightly overpriced in my opinion . $32 for a piece of chicken which isn’t even organic or free range isn’t acceptable. Otherwise our service was great . The cheese selection is awesome and definitely something which never disappoints , the vegetables were slightly overcooked . The Lucrat fries are normally awesome but this time they weren’t as good , slightly dry . Otherwise this place is in my top three or top five in Minneapolis! Last time I gave them a 5 star as the Lucrat fries were awesome and vegetables were perfectly cooked . I will definitely come back .
We sat at a table in the bar. Our server was outstanding - attentive without hovering, good wine recommendation. Overall lovely evening.
A few of the drinks we ordered were not made right. When we told server that we couldn’t drink them they told us that’s just how they make them and there’s nothing he could do.
Perfect as usual. We had a table of 10 and we had great service. Food is fantastic.
4.5 stars. The place is excellent. There was a service delay due to some confusion on who our server would be. Crab soufflé was unreal especially with the mustard sauce. The Apple manchego salad was unique in presentation and textures. Get the full order of miso black cod as the half is about the size of 3 pieces of sashimi. But what an umami rich dish! The wine by the glass list was very solid and well compiled. My cocktail was the house take on a Manhattan and sweet for me. But the Brown Derby was a beautiful balanced cocktail enjoyed by my girlfriend.
Excellent food and service. Only complaint was that room was icy cold. But that may be a seasonal switch problem.
We went during Restaurant Week! Great selection of starters, entrees and desserts! Friendly, attentive service! Asked waiter if I could count on getting my steak well-done; he said “Yes!” It was perfect, tender and juicy! Everyone enjoyed their choices! Fun date night out with friends! 😁
Their food is always amazing, but to be aware they tack on 20% to the total and don’t make that very apparent. So you end up tipping twice
Changed menu and definitely smaller portions. Oh and now you don’t get the French bread before meal, you now pay $7 bucks if you want bread. I’d say way overpriced now. Service level was outstanding!!
I found the waitress staff to be very attentive. The food was delicious and nothing felt was coming out too fast or slow. The noise level in the restaurant was louder than expected. Overall, a great date night.
The food was amazing! Service was wondering and atmosphere was perfect! Will be back again
I have long loved the Naples, FL Cafe Lurcat and have been so sad that they closed. When in Minneapolis for a wedding, we realized we could have dinner at this location and loved it! It happened to be restaurant week so it was an extra value. Space is very cool, food was superb, wait staff very attentive and friendly and a nice vibe overall. Words cannot express how special and delicious the donuts are - something that they also served at the Naples location. Delish!
