Perfect menu to share. Food is just awesome and paired with a great wine list.
A dozen donuts to celebrate a birthday! Crazy!
Wonderful birthday dinner! The Miss SeaBass was fantastic!
Great food and service
My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous dinner at Cafe Lurcat. We ordered the fried ginger rice as an appetizer which we both thought was fantastic. My husband ordered the Sea Bass, it was prepared perfectly. I ordered the Scallops which came with Brussels Sprouts seasoned with crisp bacon. The scallops were delicious but I would have preferred an apple smoked bacon versus the overwhelming flavor of hickory. I also tried their Figgy Old Fashion; if you enjoy Old Fashions, this is a “must have”!
Overall it was a wonderful dinner out.
This was one of my favorite dining experiences that I have ever had. Everything that we ate was absolutely delicious. The staff was attentive, friendly, and paid great attention to detail. Eating here would be a rare occasion for me but an absolute treat, and money well spent.
Outstanding food, classy service, great experience. The food is worth the increased price, and the service makes you feel special.
Our 11 person dining party was served by Christine and she was both personable and professional
The food was prepared to perfection
Good time by all
Such a nice meal! We went during restaurant week, and it was great.
Wonderfully creative tasty food choices with friendly service. Nice view of Loring Park activity. But too loud to conduct a conversation.
The service was outstanding from the moment we walked in the door. The food and drinks were all AMAZING!
I hadn't been in quite awhile and loved it!! We were there during restaurant week and the options were great. Christina was fabulous, the atmosphere was spot on.
First time at the restaurant - really enjoyed it!!
Went for restaurant week. Choices were all interesting and ended up with the Korean BBQ salmon. Cooked perfectly and very delicious. I will definitely be back. They have date night menu on Sunday nights plus half price bottle of wines under $100. Great value.
Larissa and all the associates are the best...
Definitely our favorite spot in the twin cities!
Everyone is so mindful and helpful!
The menu is incredible!
Lurcat has been one of our favorites since 2012 when he had our third date there! We always love to come back because the staff is a very nice group of people and the place is buzzing with energy, not to mention the wonderful food. Not so this time! The food held up to its outstanding quality standard as always. But the service was an issue. There was a larger party in one of the side rooms and serving them made our final entrees come really, really late with a very long pause in between. The server disappeared for long periods of time because she was probably busy helping with the big party. Then there was a very long delay when we were waiting for our check. Finally, what really capped off the evening was that we could not even get to our car and get out of the street because that damned party was standing out in the street to board their vans. Ugh! Why should this party ruin everyone else's evening? Maybe better accommodations for large parties in the future would keep the other paying costumers happy? Please maintain the quality of service at this class act restaurant it will no longer be class act!
We celebrated my wife's birthday and had a great time and great food. Cafe Lurcat is incredibly consistent in providing a top rate experience. Servers are the best in town.
My wife and I have dined here on three separate occasions. Each has been memorable. We typically prioritize a restaurant with a quality wine list first and then food. Both were great. The server, her name escapes me sadly, was welcoming and very professional. We had an older premier cru burgundy and the cork broke, which can be very stressful. We assured her not to worry or stress as my wife announced that she too is a sommelier. We shared a laugh and she didn’t skip a beat went to the back, strained and decanted. Th 2010 Gevery-Chambertain was delicious. We followed that with a 2104 Thibault Liger-Belair Nuit St. George. I paired with the pot roast and my wife had the scallops. We finished up with a really nice cheese board.
This was our first time here and the reviews we read were spot on. We started off with a crab cake and Octopus which were both very good but the Octopus was our favorite. We ordered the lamb and the 16 ounce steak. The Lamb was very good but the steak was great, it came with a wine reduction and a bone marrow. I would go back again and order the steak again. The service was great as well and because we were there for a Birthday they gave us an order of sugar mini donuts
Visitors from out of town enjoyed the food and view enormously.
This is the third time I had been to Cafe Lurcat. While it is a unique place to have dinner, we were all a little disappointed with the entrees. The sauce on my lamb was a bit too sweet for my taste. The Hangar steak was tough and difficult to cut. Unfortunately, the evening started off on the wrong foot when the waitress spilled wine on my shirt. The manager did say he would compensate me for the dry cleaning bill, or replace the shirt. The service was good, but what really turned me off was the 3% adder on my bill that was referred to as "Employee Wellness". We tried to get an explanation about this charge from our server, we still did not understand it. I know that is was not something that had to do with health care for the employees. Needless to say, I will not be revisiting this restaurant in the near future.
Always a wonderful experience! The food is perfection, and the service is impeccable.
The food is delicious, the service is excellent, the ambiance is lively, it's really a must go type of place. Seriously, everything was just perfect!
Our favorite place for special occasions. The apple salad and halibut are both fantastic.
Great food, great service.. Kind of a hip, and comfortable atmosphere. Will definitely go back.
Kristina or Christina, not sure on the spelling, did a fabulous job as our server and was delightful. Simple meal with both of us having short ribs and a salad, but they were fabulous and paired well with the beverages suggested. Love the Lurcat!
The hostess acted like she couldn't be bothered, but our waiter was amazingly friendly, personal, and helpful. The scallops and sea bass tasted great, as did the apple salad and the bread.
Food was awesome! Service was excellent. Every suggestion was spot on
I prefer less salty food. The ambiance is terrific.
Food was a bit meh for the prices.
The staff at Cafe Lurcat are all extremely attentive. Particularly the service staff. The ambiance is a fav with the large windows and park view. Bartender with cordial but distracted and greeter was aloof.
Hands down the best dining experience I have yet had in Minneapolis. I went here with my girlfriend for a date night, and they did not disappoint. It was slightly out of my normal price range, but absolutely worth it between the delicious food and great service. We will be saving this place for another great date night in the future.
Amazing experience for a family event. We had seven people in Bar Lurcat and everything was top-notch — taste, presentation/plating, drinks, punctuality, and attentiveness. Phenomenal experience.
I would recommend the restaurant to a friend based on quality of food and service however the place was so loud my husband and I could not hear each other talk. On that basis I cannot recommend the restaurant. At the price point of the meal one should be able to have a quiet atmosphere to enjoy the company of those they are dining with.
Cafe Lurcat has been one of our favorites for awhile. However, we were deeply disappointed in our most recent visit. We had special guests in town and wanted to indulge in a lengthy, quality meal together - the meal itself was fine (except the apple chive salad was missing the signature fresh cracked pepper), but the service was horrible - which is exactly why Lurcat is usually a go to for us on special occasions. Plates were not cleared before the next course delivered, courses were delivered to incorrect seats, our server was unavailable most of the time - we saw more of other staff than her. More broadly, both the men's and women's restrooms were a mess. My fiance visited the men's room twice 2 hours apart and nothing had been tidied in that time. Long story short, we found ourselves apologizing to our guests on behalf of Lurcat - reassuring them that this was not our typical experience. At most places these be minor complaints, but at Lurcat we expect better.
We went for the fairy floss dessert and rose' flight and were not disappointed. This is my new favorite restaurant in the entire city.
Minneapolis is filled with fun, new and unique restaurants. Cafe Lurcat, however, remains that constant restaurant that I will always return to. They do everything right; from the service, to the setting and of course the food! Without fail I get the Sea Bass- every time! I need to try more because there is no doubt that ALL the food is fantastic. To remain an establishment with all the new places Minneapolis has to offer is a testament in itself.
