Great, great service, love the restaurant! Food was very good, but a couple things were so-so. The menu for restaurant week had lots of options. The steak tartare was ok, but pretty bland to my taste. Hangar steak was excellent, but the pork tenderloin (chop) was just average. All desserts we wonderful!
Michael was a very attentive server and as always, the meal and the service didn’t disappoint! Thank you for another lovely evening at your restaurant-one of our favorites!
Lovely dinner had a great time with friends thank you
Cocktails were great. Service at our table was great. Crab cake was tuna salad-like and heavy-handed with the frying. Tartare was not finely chopped. Hangar steak was under seasoned and cold when I got it. Pork chop was excellent. Dessert was fine. After dinner drink at the bar - bartender was snippy. Coffee tasted like it was from the gas station. For $200, we won’t be back. Beautiful bar - maybe just go for a drink.
We have never had a mediocre meal or bad service experience, this place is always Minnesota “above average.” We went this time for the sampling menu for restaurant week. I’m gluten free and they accommodated all courses for me without flinching.
We were seated but it took about five minutes to have a server come talk to us. I also asked what was the highlights on the menu and I got you’ve been here before it’s the standard food.
Not as impressed as I’ve been in the past
As always, the meal and service were superb. The BBQ salmon was cooked to perfection - I would love to have the BBQ sauce recipe.
We had a great experience! The waitress was great she explained everything and suggested great paring for us to share dishes. It’s such a charming and romantic place! The food tastes great and the presentation was 10/10. Will most definitely be back!
Had a phenomenal anniversary dinner
We always go here for the Sunday night date night. Great value for money.
We brought friends, who are foodies and live in Chicago, and they loved the restaurant....thank you
Very good food and service. Minor complaint : the sea bass was a bit soft( suspect not very fresh) and very small portion
Fabulous food (the apple/cheese salad and the Miso Sea Bass - amazing!), good drinks, and a warm, open atmosphere. I only wish our waiter was a little less snippy. He did everything he was supposed to but we felt rushed or intimidated.
Food was decent. Service was quite slow. Our waitress was great but we were stuck in a corner at a 2-top. We were celebrating our anniversary so was disappointed. Not a good value for the prices there.
Awesome time dining at Cafe & Bar Lurcat a couple nights ago! Amazing food and delicious drinks especially the perfect Manhattan and desserts were out of this world, best service! The decor is cool. The chef is a genius. I had the Braised Lamb, Masa Gnocchi and it was the best lamb dishes I ever had. I cannot say enough good things about this place! I high recommend this place! I give them 5 stars.
Great anniversary dinner! Everything we ordered was amazing.
Delicious food. Great waiter. Always love seeing the very warm and friendly host staff as we enter the restaurant they set the tone for a lovely dining experience. Yum for the short ribs and bbq salmon, gazpacho, the FRIED RICE! Don’t miss it.
The only negative was that one of our guests learned late that her entree choice was out.
It was very nice
We had such a nice evening, while celebrating my partner's birthday! Our server, Makeba, was spectacular, and all of their recommendations were amazing. We'll definitely be back in the near future.
The scallop small plate was melt in your mouth delicious, and the heirloom tomato salad with mozzarella was heavenly. I ordered the Mexican inspired lamb with gnocchi, my partner ordered the sea bass with miso, both were totally different, but more than enjoyable. We had donuts and Apple Pavlova for dessert, both were great.
My partner said his old fashion was one of the best he's ever had, and the Eiffel Tower Sparkler was a lovely light celebratory drink.
We enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much we forgot to take any photos 😀
I had dinner with my two daughters and it really is fabulous. But I don’t go often because it is expensive.
We had an amazing time last Friday. I expected good and we got great. Wine list is very nice and we tried multiple glasses before getting a half bottle. Service was attentive and Sandie did a great job.
We share appetizers and an entree. The lobster galette was very good and we enjoyed the burrata and added the fries which were tasty. The star was the beef tenderloin filet which absolutely exceeded our expectations! Done exactly as ordered and so tender it melted. Better than many places known for steak.
So as good as dinner was I did give a 4 for ambience. Which is funny since that’s what I think of first. We were in the dining room and I was facing Loring Park looking through the large glass windows - perfect except a D’Amico truck was parked in one of the spaces and blocked much of the view. It seems like a little thing but easily fixed.
All in all a wonderful evening and we will be back.
A friend and I from St. Louis brought our hungry selves to this lovely urban eatery in Minneapolis this past Sunday. The staff were all well-dressed, courteous, and I could not help but admire the beautiful dining room the entire time we were there (elongated by several coffee refills). If you're a fan of contemporary design, it doesn't get any better than this. A minor quibble - the men's room is a bit awkward and small and I accidentally bumped into a poor sap washing his hands as I entered. Back at the table, our waiter clearly loved his job, and his attitude and attentive service was reflective of this. Based on the description of their rendition of pot roast, complete with "potato puree" and "root vegetables," it sounded as though it was balanced enough to skip the extra $10 bucks or so for salads which are not included with the entrees (becoming a very common trend these days unfortunately). The meal arrived at a reasonable time as a pair of servers placed our plates, which were bare sans a small blob of "potato puree," in front of us, and then unloaded red hot pot roast and gravy out of a small stainless steel pot onto our plates. The pot roast was roughly the size of a petite filet mignon and the potato portion about the same. A few scant carrot pieces were visible, and my friend was lucky enough to have a single small scalloped onion which he surrendered to me. The food itself was sensational. As a carrot lover, the lack thereof prompted me to ask the waiter for more. A few minutes later, a blazing hot plate with four 1/4" thick slivers of carrot arrived which were devoured in the blink of an eye. With more than enough room for dessert, we both ordered the dark chocolate bar and a cup of coffee for me. The chocolate confection was to die for. Little bits of graham cracker, marshmallow, and this incredibly smooth chocolate filling made my tummy very happy.
This is one of my favorite places in Minneapolis! Wonderful Chef! Wonderful team!
Our server Michael was amazing!! He was so on top of things and made our dinner really fantastic.
Other thank the dripping AC unit onto us at the table (sitting outside), great evening. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Always enjoy the food and service at Lurcat. Had the salmon and it was best I have ever had.
Service and outdoor ambiance were excellent and the Sea Bass we ordered was cooked to perfection.
It is an incredible place with amazing food and perfect atmosphere. I proposed here, she said yes! Staff was discrete and accommodating for our special occasion.
The food was exceptional and the service was outstanding. I enjoyed every aspect of the experience and would highly recommend it.
There isn't a better all-around fine dining restaurant in the area
Very nice place and amazing food. Seafood lovers should go there.
The best of the best, always!
Our server was amazing. Really went the extra mile with my mom’s dietary requirements. Vegetarian options could use improvement. I cook a lot so I was intrigued with some of the preparations. My questions were answered in a very kind and detailed manner. They really went out of their way to make things special...Totally will go back!
Food was just incredible... service spot on . A strong recommend to anyone in this Minneapolis area
As always, food very good and service excellent
Never disappoints. Despite no longer on the menu, they prepared my favorite cocktail, "Spicy Market". Ambience, food, service always superb.
