We made a reservation for Sunday night because I had heard about their Date Night special. It’s $55 per couple and you get an appetizer, entree and dessert. The food was delicious and such a great value. They also have half price bottles of wine. What really made it extra special was the holiday ambiance. Beautiful building lit up for the holidays and overlooking Loring Park. Lovely!!
We celebrated my sons birthday and we ordered mist of the same items we get all the time. The ginger shrimp fried rice was great but missing something. The hangar steak wasn’t quite as good as it usually is, maybe different preparation. The Amish chicken was good but a bit salty, we were too full for dessert but they brought us donuts for the birthday. Everything was great, just not outstanding like most of the time
We had a wonderful meal with fabulous attentive service.
Excellent service and food
Had excellent service from Monica. Cozy table in the corner by the radiator. Looked out over Loring Park and was able to see the Holidazzle fireworks from our seats. Would highly recommend for a romantic occasion.
Don't know....I requested a table in the dining room when making my reservation a long while ago ...when we arrived was told there were no tables available...small dining room was empty; not used and there were window tables there...sat in the bar by the window which was ok. Hostess was not friendly; the most helpful person was a young, pretty woman who said she would make a note of what happened and we would get a table next time.. Food was good but not as good as usual for the price...not hot and average taste
Service, ambiance, and quality of food never disappoint. Another wonderful experience tonight.
Date night is a great value. Mitch our waiter provided excellent service (have always had excellent service at Lurcat)
I was with a party of Six and we all had a delicious meal. From the salads to the desserts, we all were impressed with the consistency of the kitchen. It was, however, our sever who made our evening wonderful. You know professionalism when you see it, and Will was beyond professional.
Wonderful experience from start to finish.
Can’t wait to go back.
Just a great experience. Really liked the feel of the place. Great food and service. Our server Michael, was fantastic. He really knew the menu and made some great suggestions to us. Great wine list. The sea bass and pot roast were outstanding. Highly recommend you consider Lurcat! We will be going again.
Great dinner! The Tuna tartare was melt in your mouth with a perfect mix of citrus and ginger. The Snake River Farms Gold Bottom Sirloin was perfectly cooked medium rare. It was tender with amazing flavor. Bone marrow came with the steak, and for a first time having bone marrow it was awesome. For sides, the roasted cauliflower is a must have.
This is a restaurant that everyone should go to.
Both the experience and the food were well worth the price. Perfect place for an anniversary, birthday, or fancy date night. Be prepared to spend some money, but the customer service is incredible, the ambiance is warm and intimate, and every bite of the food is incredible. Highly recommend sharing an order of the cauliflower with your date, and order the scallops and prosecco for your entree. Will definitely be back once my next paycheck hits :)
New menu is coming out our server told us! Chicken pot pie ,for example.
Our dinner was outstanding!
Everything was delicious!
We had crab cakes, caviar, foie gras to start. Entrees included, salmon, pot roast, sea bass, (signature dish),
Cauliflower side fries ( the best) and a house salad. So awesome!
Great food and service. Good value.
Went for a business dinner with a group of 8. The service was great, food delicious, ambiance enjoyable.. a little loud but all in all great experience. Thank you!
Date night is a great value and lovely ambiance not to be missed.
Best Sunday date night in the Twin Cities! We will be back.
We go to Cafe Lurcat frequently - they never fail to please! The menu is extensive enough to have something for everyone yet it’s not overwhelming. The wine list is more than adequate, well thought out, and has prices to fit most budgets - there are several selections by the glass as well. Service here is great, the servers keep an eye on you and check in occasionally but your meal isn’t interrupted by half a dozen people asking if “everything is ok” - that’s so annoying! AND everyone is served at the same time - the servers work as a team.
Last visit we went with friends and we all ordered from the Sunday Date Night menu. This option is the best dinner deal in the Twin Cities - 3 courses for $55.00 per couple and half-price bottles of wine? Count me in!!! As always, the meals were perfection. We’ve had nothing but great experiences at Cafe Lurcat over the many years we’ve been going there and we highly recommend it.
Food service and cocktail orders were slow all night
consistently slow. I understand they served over 400 meals prior to 9:00 but we were just one of the tables and even a drink took long!
I ordered the sea bass - this was absolutely fantastic - best sea bass I have ever had. My wife had the scallops which were very good. A little pricey, but very memorable dinner for our 30th anniversary. We will not wait another 30 years to go back!
This was our first visit to Cafe Lurcat and we were not disappointed . The food was fantastic and the service was excellent. Our waitress was very patient with us and allowed us as much time as we needed to sort through the menu and make our decisions. We will return in the future
It is always special to dine at Café Lurcat. From a warm greeting when entering to a sincere good-bye from staff when leaving it is a most enjoyable evening. The food remains excellent as well as all of the wait staff.
Great experience and awesome food! We’ll definitely be back.
Celebrated our 25 year anniversary here. Everything was great. We've been referring to all our friends. Our table was by the kitchen. While entertaining to watch the action in the kitchen it was a bit noisy. Ask for Ken for you server if you go.
Always a great place to eat.
If you want to be pampered in a very pleasant setting and enjoy wonderful food, Cafe Lurcat is the place to go.
One of our favorite restaurants in the Cities! We love their date night special on Sundays. It's been a couple years since we've made it to the Cities but it was certainly one that we wanted to visit while there.
It's been a while since we've done Cafe Lurcat's Sunday night date night. It was as good as usual. I had the pork chop and it was done to perfection. The only negatives were comments that the flat iron plate was very sparse on asparagus. Other than that minor issue, the evening was most enjoyable. On top of the value of date night, CL also runs half price wine (bottles under $100), and we had a very enjoyable Pine Ridge Cab.
Celebrating my friend Stanley as he makes a move to PA to start a new job and a new life out East!
Excellent selection of food options and everything we ordered was delicious! Great drinks and great speedy service. Atmosphere was wonderful - very different from other Minneapolis fine dining. Felt really special. We will be back!
Wonderful food and John, our server, was great!
Came over the weekend with reservations. Seated in an odd spot made for a couple by an exit door so you will be cold if it’s winter. Several other tables very close to windows appeared to have the same problem as ladies were putting their coats back on during the meal. Crab cake had very little crab and could not recommend. Filet ordered had to be sent back was it was prepared med and not rare.
Saving grace was the service and they took off the filet charge. Drinks were also very good. Would try again but not real soon.
This was our first trip to Minneapolis. We picked Café Lurcat because it was close to the Walker Arts Center and we were not disappointed. The food was excellent and so was the service.
Food is always fabulous! Complimentary valet would be a nice addition.
This was a fantastic experience altogether. I would love to dine again if I am in Minneapolis soon. I think the service, food and ambiance was top notch! Must try this place in downtown and you will leave with great memories.
Excellent service, very accommodating, willing to adjust to personal tastes. Inventive menu, unique wine list,. Braised lamb and hanger steak with smoked oyster buerre blanc sauce were fabulous
Not a cheap date:-)) but a wonderful place for food, service and a lovely setting.....
Service was very good. Food, as always, very good! Ambiance always good! Our only complaint is the added charge for employees insurance. 100% of diners I have spoken with about this charge all say they deduct that amount from their gratuity! Raise the price of your menu rather than highlighting this charge! It makes you look like you are too cheap to take care of your employees!
