About Cafe Lucia

Just steps away from Healdsburg’s landmark plaza, Café Lucia invites you to a leisurely meal in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere made warm and cozy by hanging canvas prints of landscapes and scenery from the Azores and Portugal, and the wooden tables fashioned from old wine boxes. Enjoy a casual lunch in the courtyard or and evening meal served al fresco with Fado, the tradional music of Portugal, playing in the background. Best of all, of course, is the genuinely caring service and food, which will leave you completely sated yet somehow craving more.

We have eaten at Cafe Lucia twice. Both times we have left completely happy. The food is amazing! We had the ceviche and the porky belly to start. The flavors were spectacular. We will be back!

We had a most disappointing dinner. The tomato heirloom salad was incredibly overdressed. I finally dragged the tomatoes away from the globs of dressing and scrapped them off to eat them. The soup was only fair. My sea bass was a uniform square and nearly tasteless, suggesting it was frozen. Fish. My partner ordered a Portuguese dish that was supposed to contain beef , pork and sausage but it was mostly a plate of beans.
The service was terribly slow. The waiter would come by to check on us but leave the dirty plates. I finally asked him to at the end when we were finishing up our wine. I hear there are some fine restaurants in this town. Don't go here.

Amazing! My husband and I went for brunch. I ordered the apple ham eggs benedict
and he ordered the stuffed citrus french toast. Both dishes were delicious. The service was impeccable and we received two complements of the chef tapas.

Always wonderful. Friendly personal service. Excellent creative seasonal menu. Love the Sunday Night Pasta menus, and really everything! One of our great favorites.

We were lucky to dine during the week when crowds were small. The fisherman stew was outstanding as was my wife's shrimp dish. It is a San Francisco quality experience

First time. Got reviews on Yelp. Very positive. Much better than expected. Great food and service. Indoor/outdoor seating was perfect. Was 103 degrees outside but perfect temp in outdoor area. Fisherman's stew was best I have ever had. Prices were unbelievably reasonable for the quality, especially for high priced Healdsburg. Big bonus was no corkage fee for local wines. Go there, you will not be disappointed.

We were looking forward to eating at Cafe Lucia because we had eaten at the sister restaurant in Sonoma and loved that experience. The food was great but our service lacked. The girl who seated us was very sweet but our server was inattentive and not welcoming to the point of being "pompous". We noticed he was very friendly with another table but it seemed like he ignored us. Everyone at our table has worked in the restaurant industry and knows how important the server is to the whole dining experience. Unfortunately, we will probably not be back because of the poor treatment.

We love Cafe Lucia but were very disappointed in their menu change. No longer are flights of wine served and their new dessert menu does not compare with their prior one...a big disappointment.

Great meal and service! We enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere in the outdoor covered courtyard and there were a lot of great touches like a flavorful ice tea (and tons of refills) and very knowledgeable staff who were very helpful finding out what we could eat with our food allergies. I especially loved the passion fruit white chocolate truffle served after dessert. Next time we're in Healdsburg we'll definitely be back!

I found this restaurant through a google search for "best outdoor seating". I included an outdoor seating request in my reservation. When we arrived they said outdoor seating is first come first serve and too bad. I wish we had been notified if they could not accomodate the request. I don't think they even look at comments/requests. It was pricy for the experience, no cocktails, no atmosphere (you could hear a pindrop when we walked in), food was salty. In fact, I was told "no" for simple requests at least 3 times within the first 10 minutes of our arrival. The waitress was awkward and unengaging. Won't be back... too many great options in Sonoma County. We liked the sommelier.

This was our first visit based on all the positive reviews. Did not disappoint.
Nice interior space. If it had not been so warm out, we would have sat outside,
which is also a great space. Our table ordered the Sea Bass, Salt Cod Casserole and the Fish and Chips. The Sea Bass was favored over the other 2 dishes. The Fish and Chips is a bit skimpy
on the fish ( 3 fingerling size pieces) but delicious and perfectly cooked. Service was impeccable. We will return!

Right off the plaza, tucked down an alley, Cafe Lucia serves up delectable Portugese delights. Recommend for a casual meal. Dog friendly.

What a hidden gem in downtown Healdsburg. Fisherman's stew outstanding. Sea bass delicious. Service is spot on. Save room for the port ice cream desert. Prices more reasonable than other restaurants downtown.

My husband and I came here for a date night. The weather was mild so we decided to sit outside on the patio, the string of lights above and the nice linen napkins added to the ambiance. We most of all enjoyed the kale salad, the prawn risotto, and the chocolate mousse dessert. The wine list was a good price range with good and very good local wine selections. We will definitely return for another date night or lunch outside on the patio.
