Cafe Lucci Ratings and Reviews
We have drive by Cafe Lucci several times, reminding ourselves we want to eat there next time we are in town. Finally made it, and am I glad! The food, classic Italian with just a touch of something new, was excellent. Service too. It was a Sunday night, so it was quiet. But we had seen it packed the night before. So maybe it is louder than our experience. We’ll be back the next time we are in town!
Haven’t been here in years. Recently went with another couple that have never been there. We each got something different and we each loved our dishes. Chicken and peppers, veal medallions, pasta with filet and mushrooms. They don’t do lasagna but suggested rigatoni. And it was very good. The fish dishes sounded like something we’ll try next time. We will DEFINITELY go back again.
The staff is very nice. From the valet to the manager. You are greeted in a very warm way and feel very welcome.
The Chicken V and the Chicken P are some of the best Italian chicken dishes I have every had in the burbs or city. The sausage is terrific!!!!
I can not wait to come back. Love that chicken!!!!
This was our first time dining here.
The food was very good. We got the almond crusted Halibut special served with California vegetable medley. Both were cooked perfectly, and although the halibut needed a little more seasoning, I preferred it over being overly salty. The wine was a very good and a great value for a cab by the glass. The service was outstanding!! Their menu offers many choices. Will definitely be back!
I had the chicken Caprese special and it was delicious. Among other attributes, the tomato sauce is worth special mention. I would imagine that any other dish with the tomato sauce would also be good. Place was a little loud. It was a Sunday evening but the place was packed. Make reservations!
Another memorable aspect was the valet, of all things. Although there were quite a few cars in the lot and he was alone on duty, he had our car waiting for us as soon as we came out the door. No waiting. Unusual. Nice friendly guy too.
I have eaten at Cafe Lucci several times. I'd like to say that it's a neighborhood secret in a location that few people would consider for a restaurant, but it's always packed so the secret is out. The small kitchen is staffed by a team that has been working together for years. They churn out flawless meals at a pace that I can only imagine. The wait staff is as professional as any Michelin-starred restaurant downtown and it's always interesting to see how many people hug and kiss their waiter when they are leaving - really says a lot for customer loyalty and relationship. The food was terrific - perfect pasta, authentic recipes, all served with class. I will continue to take people there for personal and business occasions.
We had a very enjoyable dinner at Café Lucci. We waited for our friend in the bar and found the bartender engaging and the entire bar was very friendly. We then sat down to a delicious dinner. The waiter was very helpful with the selections. The wine list was very good and overall we had a wonderful evening. We were one of the last to leave and did not feel rushed at all. I have gone to Café Lucci for lunch many times, but found dinner to be very enjoyable with a wonderful atmosphere. Thank you.
This is our go too Italian place in the northwest suburbs. The food is always great. It can get noisy so we always ask for a table in the back room which is quieter and go early it gets crowded after 6:60 on weekends. We meet another couple for dinner and all 4 of us loved our food and the waiter was great.
Cafe Lucci never disappoints!! - great food, excellent service, creative dishes and always a nice variety of items on the special menu and the regular menu to choose from. Everyone should be able to find something to enjoy. Brother-in-law said his filet was cooked to his request of med-rare and melted in his mouth. His wife and I had the pasta special of fettuccine with shrimps, scallops in a white wine sauce with spinach. Delicious!! Portions were abundant and us gals went away with a lunch serving for the next day. Desserts are not to be missed, nor the delicious coffee. All the desserts are scrumptious. And, yes, we have tried them all over the many years we have been dining at Cafe Lucci. Bobby and his staff are always welcoming and make us feel special.
The waiter during the early afternoon was great, good humor and personable. The food was very good. The one drawback is that the bathrooms are upstairs and no ramp to push a wheelchair up. We had to carry the wheelchair up and down about five stairs and the wheelchair just fit inside the door, but not into the toilet area. I thought all restaurants needed to be handicapped accessible.
Jeff our waiter was incredible and we enjoyed meeting him. Bobby has always managed and run a great establishment. Quality, Service, and sanitation appear excellent and get very high marks. This is a place we visit a couple of times per year and have never been disappointing. The calamari was cooked to perfection and the veal parm with the combination of cheeses, eggplant, prosciutto and of course veal is really very nice. The only downside is the tight parking lot but the restaurant is so good you learn quickly to visit early so you can get an easy to exit parking place, or use the parking service.
Our dinner Saturday was outstanding!! Waiter was great. The burrata appetizer was fabulous, our entrees (melanzane parmigiana & pollo vesuvio) were delicious and cooked just right. The chocolate gelato was yummy and the cannoli was off the scale - the best we've ever had!! Kudos to the chef!!
We've been regulars here for years! Food is always delicious!! Service is always experienced and professional!! Never had a mediocre anything here. If there's something you prefer that's not on their menu, they'll customize your dish as long as they have the ingredients. Highly recommend a visit!!!
Food is fantastic. Having visited many times before with very good dinning experiences, we were able to tell sunday was an off night with short staffing. The food was very good. The service was poor but training of newer staff could have prevented avoidable problems. We almost walked out after 15 min of being seated due to: no server, no water, no drinks, no menu, no bread nothing. We did catch the attention of a waiter. He was extremely rushed. We will be back again, food is fantastic.Had this been our 1st visit we would have left. The food is delicoius and usually, no complaints about service.
