1st Anniversary with my beautiful wife and 3 stepchildren. Service is always amazing and they helped us celebrate with a complimentary dessert.
I've been to Cafe Lucci a number of times. I only go back because the food is good and when I want a slightly above casual dining experience. However, I learn to not expect much service and not be offended by the casual and unfriendly manner of the hostess and server. Of note: It is a noisy dining area - had to scream to carry a conversation.
We had an enjoyable evening with friends. The service and food were great. The atmosphere was lively.
We will go back!
Went on a Sunday night. It was pretty empty. Wait staff was very friendly. Food is very fresh.
We made a reservation to sit at the bar. Linda is a wonderful bartender and server. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Service , food ,drinks and atmosphere were great, as always.
Food was fantastic. Service was great. Only issue was on a Saturday night, it was very loud and hard to hear others at table.
We found the service to be excellent, the food was
What I call
“Old School” Italian which was tremendous. The atmosphere was nice and the overall experience was great.
This place truly is a hidden gem.
Incredible. Staff always kind, helpful, and professional. Food is superior to any restaurant in the area.
Enjoyed a lovely Easter dinner at Cafe Lucci. We had a 3:45 reservation and enjoyed a nice leisurely dinner. Service is always attentive without being intrusive. The octopus appetizer was grilled perfectly, delicious and succulent, and the mini heirloom tomatoes in vinigarette were the right counterpoint to the octopus. Rack of lamb, one of my favorites, was cooked perfectly to a medium rare. Sister-in-law said the lobster-filled ravioli was perfect, and my brother's-in-law steak was grilled to his liking. We had an enjoyable time and excellent food and service.
Took my family for Easter dinner. Service and food both excellent. Did a superb job handling the holiday crowd.
Always the best food and service. I’ve never been disappointed.
I have been coming here for years. The food and service have been excellent consistently. We were a party of eight and I heard no complaints and this is a group that doesn't hesitate to complain.
It starts with the bread which is served warm and comes with a roasted garlic spread and marinated veggies - carrots, celery, onion, and fennel. I typically stay away from bread but can't help myself here.
First course choices were octopus, Caesar salad, burrata and house salad, all very good. Other apps I've had in the past that I liked were carpaccio, shrimp, soups and salads. Everything is fresh and flavorful.
My favorite item on the menu is the gnocchi macchinato. The veal ragout on the gnocchi is great on pasta as well. I've really enjoyed the veal in several preparations as well as the fish and beef entrees. It's hard to go wrong.
Everyone had canoli which has the right amount of crispiness in the shell and properly flavored cream filling. Oh dear, getting hungry just thinking about it.
The tab runs on the higher side but the quality you get is worth it. When the room is full it can be a little loud but not unbearable. There's a nice bar to sit at if you wait but I recommend making a reservation. Complimentary valet parking is a nice touch.
Cafe Lucci is hands down one of my favorite restaurants! The owner and his staff are always welcoming, and their food is incredible. I have been delighted to introduce friends to this place, and we always leave happy, and beyond satisfied with our meals. If you want a quaint, Italian restaurant, then Cafe Lucci is the place to go.
The food, as always, along with the service was exceptional.
Cafe Lucci never lets me down. Perfect again from start to finish. This place is a jewel!
Been here before. Would come again. Friendly, well stocked bar, good food and service. Priced accordingly.
Nice evening with friends. Food was good and service was attentive.
I love the idea of Cafe Lucia - a nice standalone, wide variety of choices, on the west side of Glenview. And each time I've been here, the service is excellent- from the valet to the host/hostess, to the wait staff! Never had an issue here. My only issue is the food and pricing in terms of value analysis. The meals are not bad, but neither do they stand out. And when you compare their prices, there are many less expensive options that leave you wanting more. I will say that there has been a trend for many years where they bring you your meal and tell you to be careful due to the hot plate. Should be a good thing due to a hot meal fresh off the stove, right? But the reality is the plate is hot and the meal does not match the plate. On top of that, the pasta dish was a bit crusty on top. While it came out with good timing, clearly it had been sitting for some time under a heat lamp or similar. No one stirred it and refreshed it. Finally it was not bad and not great - same as my previous experiences. The calamari appetizer was okay. The last two times I was there, my dates had good meals, not great. The pricing is more reminiscent of downtown is my value issue and versus other steak, seafood, and pasta pricing for very good meals in the north and northwest suburbs.
Again, excellent service and ambiance, but food and pricing could use a makeover.
A little on the noisy side but the food and service make up for the noise.
I have been to Cafe Lucci many times but was very disappointed in a recent experience. I was with my family, a small party of five on a Wednesday night to celebrate our mother's 94th birthday. The restaurant was not very crowded with well less than half of the tables occupied. However, the service was awful throughout our entire meal. It took a long time to order our food, then it took a long time to get served (our waiter only acknowledged the wait after I got up and tracked him down). Then they only brought four of the five meals and we had to wait several minutes before the final meal was brought. I was told that the kitchen forgot to put the shrimp on the pasta dish. Then it took too long to order desert and finally a long time to get the check. Note that the waiter was quite pleasant but just didn't attend to the table as well as we would have expected.
As for the food, me and one other person at our table ordered the special linguini diavolo with shrimp. We both agreed that although the flavor was good, it was just mild spicy and was very dry and needed more sauce. The Caesar salad was good but was way over-dressed.
In the past, I have found Cafe Lucci to be a very reliable restaurant but unfortunately, my recent visit did not live up to my past experiences.
Great food and wonderful service! Even my children commented on how nice everyone was that worked there. This is one of our favorites!
We wanted to go out on St. Patricks a Day and not fight the crowds. We love Cafe Lucci and their staff and owner.
Nice winelist One of the best Italian restaurants in the burbs.
Feel like experience not as great as it used to be. Perhaps because Bobby not there to keep things tight. Waiter was somewhat indifferent in demeanor. I had linguini Vodka sauce with chicken - sauce tasted pre made (very thick and dried out) and very little chicken in the dish. This has been one of our mainstays for Italian but have been underwhelmed last few times here.
All the food we had was outstanding from appetizers to main entrée and dessert I highly recommend this place
It was so noisy we couldn't enjoy anything and couldn't wait to leave
Way too noisy. ! Could not hear our own conversation. The food was good but the noise truly ruined our experience.
Always consistent and delicious food items. Special requests taken!
Excellent service and high quality, creative cuisine. Very open to modifying meals
Never had a bad meal!
Great Italian food, best in the area!! Bobby is the ultimate host. Will continue to go back to Cafe Lucci!
Been here many times over the years. There reasons why Cafe Lucci has sustained. Very consistent in food preparation and service.
We loved our discovery of Cafe Lucci as we will be back! The food was delicious and Eddie our server took great care of us and made the best recommendations! We had a wonderful evening and although we loved all the crab cakes are the best ever!
Awesome as always! Between Cafe Lucci and Sabatino's in Old Irving Park, I am covered for wonderful Italian food. Just fantastic!
Cafe Lucci ALWAYS has had great food! My dinner was oustanding!!
Cafe Lucci is always great! Great food, service and wine options. If it was not so far from our house, we would be eating here at least a couple times a month. Some of the best gnocci you will ever have and their veal and sea bass prep is amazing
Excellent!!! Everything from the olive oil and bread to our pasta to the wine was outstanding. Went their for a late afternoon lunch--relaxing environment, classically set tables with white linens. Excellent wine list. We will be back more often.
Lucci always offers innovative specialty dishes rarely found in other restaurants, service is friendly, efficient and thorough.
From the moment you walk into the dining room you are swept away by the aromas. Every bite of anything you order takes you on a journey to happy land. There are no words to describe the attention to detail they have put into this restaurant. Every time we have been here it is a wonderful reminder of just how good life can be. I salute the chef, the wait staff, the manager, the owner, valets, and everybody that makes this place our favorite, thank you.
