I have been to Cafe Lucci many times but was very disappointed in a recent experience. I was with my family, a small party of five on a Wednesday night to celebrate our mother's 94th birthday. The restaurant was not very crowded with well less than half of the tables occupied. However, the service was awful throughout our entire meal. It took a long time to order our food, then it took a long time to get served (our waiter only acknowledged the wait after I got up and tracked him down). Then they only brought four of the five meals and we had to wait several minutes before the final meal was brought. I was told that the kitchen forgot to put the shrimp on the pasta dish. Then it took too long to order desert and finally a long time to get the check. Note that the waiter was quite pleasant but just didn't attend to the table as well as we would have expected.
As for the food, me and one other person at our table ordered the special linguini diavolo with shrimp. We both agreed that although the flavor was good, it was just mild spicy and was very dry and needed more sauce. The Caesar salad was good but was way over-dressed.
In the past, I have found Cafe Lucci to be a very reliable restaurant but unfortunately, my recent visit did not live up to my past experiences.
Great food and wonderful service! Even my children commented on how nice everyone was that worked there. This is one of our favorites!
We wanted to go out on St. Patricks a Day and not fight the crowds. We love Cafe Lucci and their staff and owner.
Nice winelist One of the best Italian restaurants in the burbs.
Feel like experience not as great as it used to be. Perhaps because Bobby not there to keep things tight. Waiter was somewhat indifferent in demeanor. I had linguini Vodka sauce with chicken - sauce tasted pre made (very thick and dried out) and very little chicken in the dish. This has been one of our mainstays for Italian but have been underwhelmed last few times here.
All the food we had was outstanding from appetizers to main entrée and dessert I highly recommend this place
It was so noisy we couldn't enjoy anything and couldn't wait to leave
Way too noisy. ! Could not hear our own conversation. The food was good but the noise truly ruined our experience.
Always consistent and delicious food items. Special requests taken!
Excellent service and high quality, creative cuisine. Very open to modifying meals
Never had a bad meal!
Great Italian food, best in the area!! Bobby is the ultimate host. Will continue to go back to Cafe Lucci!
Been here many times over the years. There reasons why Cafe Lucci has sustained. Very consistent in food preparation and service.
We loved our discovery of Cafe Lucci as we will be back! The food was delicious and Eddie our server took great care of us and made the best recommendations! We had a wonderful evening and although we loved all the crab cakes are the best ever!
Awesome as always! Between Cafe Lucci and Sabatino's in Old Irving Park, I am covered for wonderful Italian food. Just fantastic!
Cafe Lucci ALWAYS has had great food! My dinner was oustanding!!
Cafe Lucci is always great! Great food, service and wine options. If it was not so far from our house, we would be eating here at least a couple times a month. Some of the best gnocci you will ever have and their veal and sea bass prep is amazing
Excellent!!! Everything from the olive oil and bread to our pasta to the wine was outstanding. Went their for a late afternoon lunch--relaxing environment, classically set tables with white linens. Excellent wine list. We will be back more often.
Lucci always offers innovative specialty dishes rarely found in other restaurants, service is friendly, efficient and thorough.
From the moment you walk into the dining room you are swept away by the aromas. Every bite of anything you order takes you on a journey to happy land. There are no words to describe the attention to detail they have put into this restaurant. Every time we have been here it is a wonderful reminder of just how good life can be. I salute the chef, the wait staff, the manager, the owner, valets, and everybody that makes this place our favorite, thank you.
We have been to this restaurant many times, mostly during the week. The food and service have always been excellent. This last Saturday night we went with friends, it was so loud you couldn't hear across the table. I know a noisy restaurant makes more money than a quiet one.
When the noise level is so high you can't enjoy your meal.
We are in an Italian restaurant, the dish my friend ordered came with penne pasta. He asked if he could exchange it for angel hair or spaghetti noodles. The waiter said no changes, the owner then came over and said he would give him a half order of spaghetti for $8.00, but no changes. I understand that the kitchen was busy ,but come on !!
As much as I enjoy dining here, I won't be back for some time.
We were in the front dining room so it was a bit loud for a comfortable conversation. However, the food, wine, service and ambiance were so wonderful, struggling a bit to be heard was worth it. Our waiter never rushed us, but the minute one of us looked up, someone was there to serve. The out of town guest has already asked if we can return on her next visit.
Cafe Lucci is my favorite Italian restaurant! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is perfect!
This restaurant always delivers. We eat here a few times a year and we have never been disappointed with our selections. The restaurant gets high marks for consistent quality.
I am a regular customer of Bobby's, which I love. Café Lucci was OK. The bread was average, no desire for a second piece. Had chicken parmigiana, which was good, but I've had better. The waiter was very nice and attentive, as well as the busboys. Would I go back? Sorry, but I don't think so.
I have been coming here for several years. It is ALWAYS great!
Cafe Lucci is one of our very favorite restaurants. The food is always outstanding, especially the Dover Sole special. The lamb chops and sea bass are amazing too! There are plenty of choices on the menu to satisfy everyone’s taste. Their service is excellent and if you are lucky enough to have Conrad as your server, you are in for a wonderful experience. He is the very best. Their wine selection is extensive, with many lovely choices. We highly recommend Cafe Lucci for a great dining experience.
Can’t wait to come back! Delicious flavorful food- felt more like a city restaurant than the burbs.
The salmon pastrami appetizer was fantastic and so was the grouper. We also enjoyed a very nice red wine blend with our meal. Overall we had an outstanding meal and terrific service.
Enormous wine list and very large menu with many appealing options...Food was excellent butserved too quickly(in/out in 1 hour ) and our waiter was pleasant but appeared very harassed and we often had to literally wave him down as he ran by!!
This was our first time dining here but plan to give it another try because of menu and food quality...however, we would definitely request one of the quieter side rooms due to HIGH noise level in main dining area...
Consistently good food, great variety, unique whisky drinks, special sauces!
My meal was great but our server seemed way more concerned about the regular customers than concerned about providing good service all around.
We absolutely love this restaurant. It’s outstanding every time. We enjoyed a great bottle of wine & a delicious shrimp frangelica. I loved my entree of veal Marsala & my husband had the special of rack of lamb. Everything was outstanding. The service is great too. We highly recommend this place. Thanks
Went for a family Valentine’s Day dinner. Everything was outstanding as always!!! Delicious food, great company and excellent service!!! Keeps us always coming back.
Such a great restaurant--high quality, delicious food. It's our go-to place to eat whenever we are out and even remotely close to Glenview. Well worth the drive even if we aren't !
The food was excellent and our server was very helpful and friendly. We have been coming here for years and will be coming back soon.
Food was excellent.: All four of us had empty plates!
Service was also timely and did not intefer with conversation.
Not exactly conversation friendly though.
Best spot in town! The food is phenomenal, the service is spectacular and they will always accommodate your meal if you want something that may not be on the menu.
Love this place so much!!
One of our favorite place to go, Food is always good staff is outstanding in the bar as well as the dinning room. Is easy to get to for lunch or dinner. The specials are wonderful as well as the regular menu. Waiters are knowledgeable on the specials and able to recommend if need be
Great cocktails and delicious dinner as always! Staff was attentive without rushing us at all. Lovely night at Luccis!
