Cafe Limoncello Ratings and Reviews
I have been to Limoncello a number times and decided to go with a friend on New Year's Eve. While our overall experience was good I was disappointed about a couple of things. They had run out of my first and second choice and my friend's first choice. We both had the veal scallopini which came with fettucine alfredo. Both were delicious but the veal was not a proper scallopini. Instead it waas a thick cutlet which was not what I was expecting especially since this was an Italian restaurant. Scallopini means thin slices and the meat should be pounded to become quite thin.
The service was great.
Very accommodating as we moved tables a couple of times .
The food was fair. The chicken breast on my salad was cold and dried out.
My partners' pasta sat in a pool of oil.
The dessert was enjoyable.
The price for the meal did not reflect the quality of food.
Other than a mistake (by the computer printing my pizza order) therefore waited while my husband ate everything was great. He ordered 2 additional toppings and I ordered as is on the menu but we ended up with 2 of my husbands pizza order. Waitress was very nice at updating us as to the time factor for it being ready. Wasn't her fault and was very attentive offering anything while I was waiting, etc.
Food is good and menu has lots of great items. First choice for entree was not available. Entrees came before starters were cleared away. We felt rushed. Wait service is either over attentive or busy chatting amongst themselves behind bar. It was ok. Very loud as it got busier.
Anytime we have ever went to Limoncellos we've been greeted at the door with a big smile and it only gets better from then on .The food is fantastic the waitresses are great to this day we've never had a bad day at Limoncellos. It's our favorite place in Hamilton for celebrations
This was a lunch date with my cousin that I hadn't seen in quite some time. The only complaint I had was it was Saturday at noon and we couldn't find a parking spot and after going around the block a number of times parked about 3 blocks away and had to walk. For people who are in their 80's this was not pleasant. But the lunch was great and the next time we will get together on another day.
Have always had good service and excellent food. Was disappointed this time through as a number of main dishes were sold out by 6:30 -manicotti, all sole dishes, all salmon dishes, and we got the last serving of lasagna.
Service was still friendly and what they did have was delicious.
It was my wife's 60 birthday, so I took her along with our friends to Lemoncello for dinner. Unfortunately my wife did not receive what she ordered. The restaurant was very busy and we thought if she complained, we would be eating while she waited for the kitchen to make her meal, then when we were done, she would be eating alone. Needless to say, she did not like what she had.
Very unhappy for that reason.
I have dined several times, for several special occasions at Limoncello and the food has been consistently superb. Pasta, salads, deserts... incredibly tasty and the servings generous. This isn't an 'up scale' environment to dine in but the food makes it special every time!
I've eaten here since the restaurant opened. I have always had excellent food, friendly staff and a great experience. We dined here for Valentine's Night with another couple prior to a concert. They were fast, courteous and efficient (as usual). Can't beat the price either. Marksradius
We reserved for my daughters 21st birthday thinking she would enjoy it. I ordered the ministroni soup, it arrived and was cold. Sent it back came back luke warm not very good. Ordered the Calimari it arrived warm and overly chewy. My daughters lunch was warm and good, my wife order a salad after seeing how I was receiving my food. The pasta dish I ordered was cold and not very tasty. I am Italian and have been here before the food was good and I have sent people to the Ottawa street location. Another irritant was they came out with a birthday cake and sparkler, this is a nice touch but should really ask before doing it, as my daughter felt very uncomfortable, overall I was very disappointed.
We both had the Eggplant Parmesan, which came with a side of pasta and bread. It was absolutely superb! The waitress was great, we didn't have to wait for anything and we didn't feel rushed to finish despite the restaurant having a pretty full house. I loved that we could book a reservation online
Service very slow. Waitress half paid attention. Ordered starters including a starter salad. The salad didn't come with the rest but then main meal came out. We cancelled the salad but then half way through meal, it came. The waitress was shocked and said "oh you wanted the starter salad as an appetizer?" They cleaned up and handed out desserts to the staff before we were even finished!!
Café Limoncello always has excellent service, friendly and efficient. Breakfast is plentiful, with fruit accompaniments. Be aware that on Sundays, many large groups congregate, especially during the holiday season, and noise levels can rise.
A great pick if you're looking for good breakfast, or a wonderful Italian lunch or dinner.
Our server was great, she was able to make good recommendations based on portion size for us. Unfortunately, neither me nor my girlfriend were able to eat more than a couple bita of our main course because it was inedible. My pork loin was actually a really thick and chewy pork chop salted beyond belief, and her linguini featured an overpowering sauce and completely dried out chicken. I can't be certain this food was fresh and cooked go order from raw. I didn't tell the server about these problems because she was great and I felt bad complaining to her about something that is the chefs fault. Would not recommend.
