Cafe La Buca
Amazing meal at an amazing place would recommend to anyone. Will be back very soon.
Food was super. Fun dinner. Only notable drawback was that another diner was on his mobile phone for an hour, complete with cursing, which detracted severely from the experience. Would definitely go back, but cannot understand either the selfishness of the diner or the lack of any effort by the restaurant to quiet the diner.
Dining here was special. No menu, amazing food, lovely place. My only complaint is that there was no chicken, as I don't eat meat or fish, I was limited in my choices but everything was wonderful. It was also pricey, so would only return for another special occasion. Highly recommended.
Always spot on. The food is excellent. Grilled octopus is one of the best I’ve ever had. The pounded veal chop (prepared various ways) is mammoth and excellent. The pastas and appetizers are also delicious. Over the years, have tried most of them. Save room for dessert! Most orders are shareable. Small, but decent wine list. Or, you can bring your own for a modest corkage. ALWAYS a yummy time!!!
Always fun, delicious and satisfying! We feel like it is our hidden gem. '
Like sitting in a restaurant in Italy, although you are in a shopping center. Great food and service. Highly recommend.
Awesome restaurant! Food and service was excellent.
One of my favorite restaurants.
Went there for my wife’s birthday dinner. Fantastic evening!
I had the gnocchi with pesto sauce. It was very good
Best Italian food I’ve ever had. Great atmosphere too.
Food was decent.
Food was outstanding and the ambience was perfect. Small and quaint restaurant with excellent and friendly service. Highly recommend this best keep secret.
Amazing experience. No menus, they tell you what they have by courses. (Apps, pasta, main & dessert). Large plates for sharing. The food and service was incredible. Will definitely be back!
Great little restaurant serving large portions of delicious food to share.
The best place ever
I am not a naive diner...this was the absolutely best food of this type I have ever had. The veal parm was incredible. The chicken francese was really great. The pasta was superb. Limoncello cake was also delicious
Best local Italian food in Florida
First let me say that I have been to Cafe La Buca several times before and always enjoyed it immensely. This time, however, my experience was extremely disappointing.
When I arrived ON TIME for my reservation, the restaurant was quite crowded with a large number of people waiting outside the door. I checked in and informed the person I believe to be the owner that my party would be 2, not 3 as I had booked, due to illness of the third. I was told that was better as I wouldn’t have to wait as long for 2 vs. 3. I noted there was a set table for 2 nearby but was told to wait so I did.
After 25 minutes, the set table for 2 was added to a fourtop that was recently vacated, and a party of 6 was seated. Then servers began pushing together and setting up a table for 18. I was ignored the entire time. I then observed severs carrying in a small table and attempting to find room to put it in between other already-crowded tables. There would be no room for 2 to sit across from each other and we’d have to sit at right angles to each other in the pathway into the kitchen area. It was then that I decided to leave. I informed the owner that I was leaving and barely received a glance.
I understand the restaurant is small and it is busy season in south Florida. However I am wondering why Cafe la Buca would have accepted my reservation in the first place if they weren’t able to accommodate me...and then not give a damn! I’m not sure at this time if I will return...and I will certainly not recommend the restaurant to others.
No menu, had to order by verbal description without knowing prices.
The veal was poor quality and the price was very high.
I will not recommend this place to anyone.
Unremarkable-looking little restaurant, tucked away in a small suburban strip mall, belies its looks with excellent food cooked to order.
They only serve dinner on weekends, with the menu limited to 2-3 main courses (based on what’s fresh at the market). Several appetizers can be served individually or as a family-style assortment for a group. Deserts are typical Italian fare e.g. tiramisu, cannoli or tartuffo, but good.
It’s a small place and when it’s full of diners enjoying their experience it can get noisy. Dinner for two was about $100, plus tip, not too extravagant for a special occasion.
Always a great experience. Perfect spot for out of town guests. Delicious food and service has always been good. Looking forward to our next visit!
We had eaten at Cafe La Buca as a couple and loved it. However, there were six of us at the table on our recent visit and it was fabulous. We went family style for the appetizers, pasta, and meat/fish course and it was a wonderful meal. This place is a hidden treasure
Party of 6 celebrating my wife’s birthday and our anniversary. It was a Monday night and we were 1 of 3 parties in the restaurant around the 6 o’clock hour. The service was amazing, very helpful and patient. We ate appetizers and entrees family style. The chef was at his best that night. All of the food was delicious, and I believe myself to have high food standards. Would revisit again.
We really enjoyed the restaurant, however they should consider using a printed menu so you are aware of the cost of each item. We will definitely go back again.
Food good, not great. Way overpriced. $120 for 2 apps, 3 shrimp done scampi style and a smaller veal chop. No coffee or dessert. One and done for me.
This is a special local great secret
What a hidden treasure! Ambiance, food, and service combined for a delicious dining experience.
Like eating in the hill towns of Firenze
Great food — great staff!!
We eat here regularly. It's a 40 minute drive, but more than worth it! Food is delicious, service is always super friendly and efficient and they welcome you bringing in your own wine.
The best food ever!!!
Always great! Food is fresh, service is friendly and attentive. We eat here often.
Menu was whatever was made that day. All fresh and cooked to perfection.
The food was outstanding. Absolutely delicious! We over ordered, so had enough for dinner the next day! Which is a good thing, because the meal was quite expensive. Given the fact there is no menu, the servers tell you what is being made fresh that day, you don't know how much you are spending. Bring your own bottled water and your own wine. They do not serve tap water, so you must buy a bottle. The place is small, casual and quaint. The food, again, was delicious!
Definitely an Italian experience!. Great appetizers and pasta to share family style. Would like to try entrees but too full. Took two cannolis home for later - were very small. As other diners have said, it is pricey ... but delicious!
Excellent food and service.
Amazing dinner with friends would highly recommend.
Highly recommend this restaurant. This is one of the best Italian restaurants we have ever been to. Intimate, but yet friendly. There are no menus. The food preparation is excellent! The servers are incredibly knowledgeable and provide excellent service. There is ample amount of time between courses. It is a family style Italian restaurant. IF you are in the Pompano Beach and Ft. Lauderdale areas, do not miss this place! WE loved it and will be back!
Delicious food is served in a little gem. Simple and tasty food with nice vine pairings.
