Enjoyed. This is our 2nd time there. Really enjoy the tasting menu. Really no atmosphere, but the food helps make up for that. Pretty sure everyone enjoyed their drinks. Good for a low key dinner.

We enjoy this restaurant but I phoned ahead to let them know it was for a birthday and they never said a word to us about the birthday and they didn’t do anything to acknowledge. The restaurant was 1/4 full if that but our server kept rushing us to bring the next course even though we kept asking to slow things down. Food is excellent. We will return but please allow your clients to take their time and not be interrupted over and over.

This is a favorite place for me. Great food with an innovative tasting menu that lets you try all kinds of things — without leaving hungry or broke. It is also quiet enough to be able to hear the others at your table:-)

Our waiter Johnathan was awesome, the food fantastic, and an overall value and gem of an Austin restaurant. Wonderful evening. Great for couples and friends.

The tasting menu was delicious and well worth the $45 price. Further more, one can ask for as many serving as one like. Service was excellent and attentive.

Our second time here and plan to return again and again. Had a delicious gumbo and coq au vin unlike any other we’ve ever had. It was the chef’s special and it was fabulous. Half price bottles of wine on Tuesdays is wonderful, too!

This was our first Brunch Experience, and it lived up to the billing! A great selection of about 15 or so items, and all you can eat. We gorged. But this is no buffet food ... no, no. This is haute cuisine made with humanely raised meats and locally sourced ingredients. The grilled shrimp & grits was awesome. The fried chicken and mashed potatoes were great. The pigs in a blanket was divine. The bok choy was a surprise - a delightfully original presentation and it went very well with the other brunch items! We'll keep going back again and again!

The Brunch "Experience" is not to be missed! See the online menu and choose from 12-15 tapas style plates. As many as you like for one price. Excellent food. Make reservations as they will be full. Very noisy, but worth it.

Cafe Josie is a fun and unusual dining concept. Small plates to share for a fixed price added variety and interest to our evening. Everything was delicious and the service was smooth and efficient. We’ll be back!

This is a favorite of ours. Love how the chief prepares his food. The price is fair considering the amount of food you can eat.

Recommended by a friend who did not steer us wrong. The cuisine was excellent, and the prix fixe menu plan was perfect. Being able to re-order favorite dishes in addition to getting a wide variety let us cast a wide net and have tasty bits of dishes we wouldn't likely order as a whole meal. All in all, a great experience. Will be back!!

Small dishes are served until you can eat no more. And each dish was even more delectable than the previous. Dishes were beautifully presented and service was excellent and friendly. The husband and I will definitly go again.

Went here for anniversary dinner and The Experience menu was so tasty and creative in addition to being fun getting a few tastes of so many different dishes. It was also very quiet, hard to find in Austin now. It was Monday evening though so maybe not as quiet on weekends. But we loved it and would definitely recommend.

The Brunch Experience was great! The only minor negative was that they were running out of some of the items, but since it was the first time serving brunch I can understand. I look forward to trying their dinner menu too!

Wow. It was their first time doing brunch and I had heard good things. A friend and I had about 15? plates. Too me, they're too tiny even for tapas. I enjoyed all the plates except the baby bok choy and fried rice. That was an awful way to end such a pleasant meal. But everything else was great, the fried chicken, the pancakes, the pumpkin roll, mimosas etc. We managed to sit next to a table of boisterous people so it was a bit difficult to hear but aside from that, I'll be back again!

A friend who lives here recommended this restaurant. We liked it so much that we plan to make it a weekly event while we’re in town for 2 months. Pulled pork special was fabulous and a beautiful Burgundy Pinot noir. Loved the jazz duo but the noise level grew as dinner hour rolled around and I doubt anyone really heard them. Overall, we liked every aspect of this charming and cozy restaurant. Great food, great wait staff, soft lighting. And, half price wine on Tuesday is always a treat.

Amazing. Every dish we ordered was phenomenal. 10 out of 10 would try again. I will definitely be taking out of town guests here in the future. I'm just upset that I haven't tried this place sooner. Wonderful concept.

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner. Had not realized that it was only a tasting menu. We tried almost everything on the menu and loved all of it.
I also enjoyed the leisurely pace of the meal. We could sit and visit, think about what we wanted next, all without worrying if someone was coming for our plate.

This was our second trip and Cafe Josie did not disappoint. Menu changes regularly so it was completely different than the last time we were there. Food was outstanding! Great little plates served endlessly. We left full and happy. Service was outstanding but, to be fair, we went early before they were very busy so it's hard to tell how it would work with a full house. We both ordered "The Experience" which, in our opinion, is the only way to go in this restaurant.

Sat outside on a gorgeous night. Most of the dishes we had were very good. A few standouts were the brussel sprouts, smoked pimento cheese, shells and cheese, smoked chicken, and the creme brule. The only downside to the experience was the slow coursing and drink service. Just a heads up, the dessert is not included in the tasting menu pricing (but is worth it if you have room). Would give it another shot since the food and ambiance were so good!

Favorite restaurant! The Experience is oustanding time after time. Every dish unique, prepared with exquisite attention to detail in the flavors and presentation. Reminds me of the fine dining in New Orleans. This food deserves a more upscale ambiance.
