Cafe Istanbul - Plano Ratings and Reviews
I was a very welcome guest in the restaurant. My server was very attentive; had an engaging personality; provided genuine hospitality; created a very comfortable milieu for dining.
The dinner was excellent! It was the sautee shrimp, and was very tasty.
I heartily recommend Cafe' Istanbul for someone seeking excellent cuisine.
As always, I had a very enjoyable dining experience at Cafe Istanbul.
My server was friendly. Her timely attentiveness; her affable demeanor; her superb service; her genuine hospitality; and the tasty entree created an excellent dining milieu.
I will return to Cafe Istanbul.
We have enjoyed Cafe Istanbul for at least 15 years. This was our first visit to the Frisco location and we had an excellent experience overall. Kudos to Dennis our server, who was attentive to our needs in the midst of a busy time. The food, as always, is authentic Turkish, with every bite tasty!
Good place. However, I was shocked to be served a tasteles chicken wings in a $48.95 plate. It didn't used to be part of this plate. This is not authentic at all. The quality and the test of food could be improved. I used to love this place. The service is great.
We had a lovely patio seat, great service, and yummy food. I loved the giant Lavash Bread that was served at the beginning with the appetizers we ordered (hummus was great). They were understanding about substituting salad for rice. Attentive and polite waiter!
Return customers to Cafe Istanbul. It's one of our favorite restaurants in the Shops at Legacy area. Lamb and chicken dishes very good, humus is divine, service outstanding. Saturday was belly dancer night so it got a little loud, but a lot of fun. We go back every chance we get. Highly recommended.
I love this place! I hadn't been there in a while, but our experience a couple of days ago was as delightful as I remember it. My friend and I enjoyed a delicious, relaxing, quiet lunch. The waitstaff were friendly and happy to explain some of the menu items we asked about. We left there full of good food, with smiles on our faces. I would happily recommend this restaurant to anyone!
One of those perfect weather evenings so we dined outside at the front of the restaurant. A very strong menu with plenty of authentic options. Even something as simple as the pita bread was quite nice. Piping hot, very tasty, well done!
Great service, a busy street front location but lots of interesting sights while dining. Highly recommended--we'll be back.
We went to this restaurant a few years ago and loved it. Tonight, we had a different experience. It took 3 hours to order and finish our meal. The service was terribly slow, and the food was not good. The lamb kabob was so over cooked and dry, I didn't finish it. My husband was not pleased with his food either. The food and drinks were way over priced for what you got. We will not be back.
It was very loud. Hard to talk even between two people. Food taste was okay but very healthy. They have a selection of Turkish wine which was pretty cool.
The waiter was not very good. We had to fill our own glasses of wine. She would come right after we filled the glasses as if she was watching us. She walked pass by our table a lot but never noticed the empty glasses. She took too long to take our check so a hostess came and asked who our waiter was, apologized and took care of it.
Overall it was decent.
It wasn't perfect — the server, who I think (hope) was new, wasn't able to answer my foodie/girlfriend's questions about a few menu items, and the music got cranked up for the somewhat pushy bellydancer to a level that your conversation is nearly impossible until it's over.
That said, saying the food is outstanding is an understatement — it was absolutely incredible. I couldn't pronounce half of the items on the menu, but our appetizer (some kind of breaded Turkish meatballs) were amazing. My entree — cubed chicken wrapped in something like a tortilla and drizzled in a yogurt/tomato sauce was even better, while her entree (something with ground lamb) was terrific, too.
DEFINITELY going back ... often.
