Cafe Istanbul - Plano
We love cafe Istanbul, great food , service. You can relax and talk. We will be back soon.
Awesome, authentic Turkish cuisine. Just wish they could actually stock the Turkish and Lebanese wine in their menu! However, you go for the grub!
$25 appetizer platter is worth about $8, and with hair in it, you'd think they would have taken it off the bill, even though they brought a new one. Everyone had shish-k-bobs which are ok in size but most restaurants like this give two, and the rice, which was just "ok," was a very small serving. The wine selection was poor. Was hard to get waiter when we needed him. Won't be going back.
Cafe Istanbul is always reliably delicious. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the service is great. easy parking. One of our favorites!
I often eat here for dinner. The staff and owner are always friendly. Keep up the excellent job!
Perfect and the most amazing food that is beautifully plated !
Perfect for a date night, family, or special occasion....the bread is a special treasure !
This was my second time at this restaurant and both times the food and service has been excellent. I always recommend this place to friends and family. Most authentic Turkish food I have had next to being in Turkey. Best lamb dishes in Dallas that I have tried.
I frequently take customers to Cafe Istanbul for lunch during our VIP events. They are always able to accommodate my group, even on short notice. The noise level is low enough that we can comfortably talk business without having to yell. And the food is terrific - there's really something for everyone though the carb-free folks may be tempted by the amazing bread that comes hot out of the oven. Good vegetarian options, the salmon is consistently excellent & the kabobs are a hit. Highly recommend.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Cafe Istanbul. I've dined here regularly on business (lunch). The food here is excellent and this visit with a party of 4 did not disappoint. We enjoyed the Lahmacun Tabagi appetizer. The adana kebab and lamb shish kebab entrees were excellent. One member of our party said its the best shish kebab she's ever had. The adana kebab tasted just like the adana kebab I had at the Cevalia Mall in Istanbul this past December. Excellent meal overall.
Always excellent and always authentic! Including some light options, and you must finish with traditional Turkish coffee!
Great food and service. The hummus, bread and entrees were excellent. Fresh salads also.
Wonderful food, cocktails and service. Always one of my favorites. They never disappoint
Great food and atmosphere. Very nice place for a date!
Food was well prepared and nicely served. Our waiter and the owner went out of their way to be sure we were pleased with meal. I appreciated the numerous gluten free options on the menu. Really good neighborhood restaurant.
We enjoy cafe Istanbul every time we dine here, after today several of my family praised my choice of restaurant and mentioned they plan on returning more often!
We have been to this place before and the quality of their food remains consistent. A bit pricey!
The food was fantastic. Our party of four had no complaints. Unfortunately, the music was VERY load making it hard to talk with friends I have not seen for some time. We finally asked for the music to be turned down.
Another wonderful dinner at Cafe Istanbul!
Outstanding food and service as always
Great patio and lamb - the rest very disappointing
The falafal is supposedly prepped by "world class Turkish chefs"...I have had fast Mediterranean food falafal that was better. At least it was luncheon priced. Unfortunately, there are no lunch sized entree portions. Only sandwiches on the lunch menu. $100+ for casual lunch is a bit much. The lamb was excellent as was the pita. The waiter said the calamari was not breaded but it was. It was decent but nothing special. The Turkish coffee was worth it though. However you can get equally good at Cafe Intermezzo across the way. And better food.
This used to be one of our favorites for Mediterranean food. Food quality seems to have gone down significantly. Chicken kabobs were almost inedible and had no flavor. Rice was equally as bland. Hope they'll devote more effort to adding flavor going forward.
Great food. Great service. Relax environment
the food was delicious. service was great. prices were good. a great night out!
Food is outstanding and so was the service
We had a fabulous evening at Cafe Istanbul. The food was absolutely delicious. Great flavors. There were 6 of us & we shared two appetizer platters, two salads & two entree platters. So much food we took enough home for dinner for four! Tried an interesting Turkish red wine - somewhat sweeter than a Merlot but nice.
It was not what we thought it would be. food was not that great, very average. The value overall was not that great, there are tastier, cheaper options at an average buffet style place. No, we will not be returning.
Worst item served was a falafel, best part of dinner was Turkish coffee.
The pork chops were excellent.
The food in this place has always been great. We tried a new appetizer called Spicy and it matched its name. The soup and the adnan kebab were really good and they make a really nice jalapeño margarita. The server was attentive and helpful especially to the vegetarians in the group. The lavash bread was warm and amazing. Overall a very pleasant and relaxed evening, we enjoyed the charming outside patio.
It seems that each time we give this restaurant another try, we are are once again disappointed. We waited 25 minutes for our table after arriving on time for our reservation and then waited an additional 20 minutes to have our order taken. The noise in the restaurant from the music and large tables made conversation and ordering difficult.
Customer service did not seem to be a priority for the staff.
Great place for a date!
The food was superb and authentic. The staff was very responsive when we needed anything and our waiter was knowledgeable about the menu items. The atmosphere had a touch of Turkey and the menu had a wonderful variety of Turkish cuisine. I had the Hunkar Begendi and my husband had the Istanbul Doner. We were both impressed with the dishes. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
Didn’t like how the food tasted! I felt like I was eating kabab on salsa sauce. Not the taste I was going for and the waiter wasn’t so attentive.
Excellent food and service. Our second visit here and still very impressed. We will be back.
Always a great experience at Cafe Istanbul!!!
Wonderful customer service and time every time my friends visit!
We definitely will be back as usual! 🤗
Service was terrible. I believe the nice weather and patio business took them off guard. They were VERY understaffed. We waited 10 minutes for our server. Appetizers were delivered before any drinks. Had to stop a manager for a glass of water. No refills whatsoever.
After 45 minutes of waiting for our entree with empty beverages, we decided to leave and go to Terra. The manager did apologize and buy our appetizers, but it wasn't enough for our time and effort on an anniversary dinner.
Excellent food and great service at the table
We dine often at Cafe Instanbul. One of our favorite places to dine for delicious Turkish cuisines. I highly recommend this place.
My wife & I enjoyed our valentine diner at the Istanbul Cafe. We order mixed grill which was very good. The appetizer was Babaganoush was delightful. The service was excellent. Keep it up.thanks
